moondog548 Posted May 24, 2020 Share Posted May 24, 2020 I wanted to make sure the positive feedback and enjoyment of this new multi-faceted content gets spoken aloud where DE can actually hear it. ;-} Folks have rightfully pointed out the frustrating mechanics in and around the jumping puzzle, but that's literally my only criticism. Now for the gushing! The story is only a hook and a prelude right now but I am VERY intrigued. And the way it has been presented so far, through evidence and rumor is very cool and very immersive! And the new nightwave challenges are a welcome bit of variety! And the glass "fissures" are a cool mechanic. I like that they're on that 25min timer across all missions so that you can pretty reliably catch them at least once per session no matter your playstyle! That is a big improvement in a chronic issue for events! And the enemies themselves are a simple but interesting mechanical twist. The fact that they dramatically explode when their weak spots are removed rather than still needing to be killed after an invulnerability stage (at least as far as I can tell) is also a neat little twist which suggests a bit of lore (glass zombies???) All around I think this is a home run or at least a bases-clearing double ;-} It's a relatively small event/addition, but the masterful synergy on display between mechanics and storytelling is PEAK DE! 😄 I find it very encouraging and hope y'all feel empowered to do more of this kind of content that may be relatively modest in scope (compared to your dreams of the perfect content you want to blow our minds with) yet is wonderfully designed to WORK so WELL at engaging the player's imagination!
