Ideas for Railjack Missions

Hi everyone,

First of all in case I am not in the correct sub-forum here I want to apologize, but it seemed the most suitable.

So after the release of Railjack revisited part1 was released I took some time to dive into this content, and I have to say it is over all a very good foundation, It is not perfect, as it has its bugs here and there, however overall I found it a really enjoyable! Furthermore it is incredible eye pleasing, so much kudos to the art and grafic design team as well!

However you feel it is a start into a new journey for the team at DE as it was with the initial start for Warframe, as the mission types are far from being very versatile.

For this reason I want to take some time to propose a few more mission types which might help Railjack feeling even more enjoyable out than it is at the current state. 🙂

Mission Type 1:

As we all know on the regular star map we have the junctions linking the planets together. I think something like this should be in Railjack as well. And here I drew some inspiration from the well known Mobile Defense Missions. My Idea would be that we have 3 Orokin Sensor/Navigation Arrays you need to fly to, one after another. On arrival you need to hack them to have them activated. However activating them draws attention by you common foes and you need to clear a wave of attackers (maybe even within a time limit to make it a bit of a challenge and make sure not under-powered Railjacks progress to far to quick). Once you succeeded in defending all 3 Orokin Sensor/Navigation Arrays you are rewarded with the coordinates of the next cluster.

Mission Type 2:

For the next mission type I drew again inspiration from existing Mission types, this time from Rescue and Defense. For Railjack these two could be mixed together in the sense of a Convoy Escort mission. Here you need to keep a slow moving Cargo/Passanger Haul alive on its passage through dangerous space. Here it can be even a 2 Phase approach, meaning that the Convoy first gets disabled and you have the chance to board it repair with the Omni-Tool to keep it moving again while the remaining Railjack crew keeps repelling enemies. I think time wise if the convoy moves at about half the speed of a Crew Ship over a distance of 15-20 km (distance increases with higher level nodes) it should be time wise as well not to bad.

Mission Type 3:

Here we reverse the roles of Mission Type 2, you need to kill a transport and its escorting ships. However as it is a military transport it is not just simply Shooting it, you will need to kill the Escort then you need to disable the engines and one of the crew need then board the Transport and disable its shields from the inside, before the Railjack crew can shoot the ship and destroy it.

Mission Type 4:

Here we have the Spy/Infiltrations Mission. A special Enemy Base has been found. The twist is however there is special Anomaly generator which needs to be destroyed , as it is granting all ships permanent shields and all enemies in the base enhanced Armor and Weapon power. Basically you need to sneak in (Using maybe the underused Void Cloak) or the cover of asteroids to sneak in and on the base it is basically a spy mission except you need to hack the generator only to have all features disabled, afterwards it turns into a exterminate mission where all ships as well all base personnel needs to be cleared. 

 

That's all I had in my mind as Ideas for Railjack.

And to all who have not fully tested and build up a railjack, i recommend try it, as it is actually very manageable now and the more you progress the better it feels. 🙂

Nice ideas. I was just playing a railjack mission and I was thinking about how I would like different types.

Also, lemme add one type. I think that just an endless survival with scaling enemies would be a good mission type as well.

The premise can be something like: "Distract the grineer flotila while a lone tenno operative raids their ship for much needed supplies" 😄

And you are surviving endless stream of enemies.

I would really be up for Railjack fissures. Basically the normal fighers can get corrupted and drop reactants. I would farm the hell out of that  😄

Railjack Prime Engines, Reactor, shields and reactors with slightly better stats.as drops and a bonus drop a prime railjack skin that can be applied? (would not add a prime railjack tho as i find it very ballanced with the base stats at the moment) 🙂

One mission type I hope they add to railjack would be some kind of Kuva Fortress raid. The fortress itself is an inner structure with a bunch of asteroid bases connected to it, so the mission could be based around severing asteroids from the main structure to cripple its defenses. Assuming having 8 players in one session is feasible, it could include a railjack squad and a ground squad working in tandem. The ground squad would be responsible for disabling point defense turrets and sabotaging hangars to prevent fighters and crewships from launching. They would also need to get into the asteroid to disable its shield generator. Along the way the ground squad would run into several security vault doors that the railjack crew needs to blow open using the artillery cannon. The railjack would also be responsible from trashing the supports holding the asteroid to the fortress once the shields are down. Teamwork would be paramount as only the ground squad can disable things like ship-killer batteries and only the railjack can open the vault doors, as well as keep fighters/crewships off the ground squad's back in open air sections of the level. Even if its not a permanent mission type, I think this concept would make a good event or weekly bounty.

I actually like this a lot, it is a big opportunity linking a railjack crew and a surface crew together, it just needs to be well made. And it should be more strick linked together than it was for the last even where random surface crews shoot random stuff into the sky like it was in scarlet spear. 🙂
