Wont play the game anymore because it's going to cook my PS4.

I have a standard PS4, not a Pro. The fans start Blowing hard when I'm on a mission with weather and when I'm changing mods on my frame and weapons in the arsenal. I'm MR 13? and have lots of mods. After about two hours of play my Ps4 alerted me it was too hot and to turn it off immediately. It sucked cause I was in the middle of a event and had to close the game. Now I'm scared of playing at risk of destroying my ps4. I didnt have nvidia Fx on. I don't know what else I can do to improve performance more and I don't know why the fans go crazy when I'm looking at frames and moving mods around.

hello!

your PS4 heatsink and airflow system are likely FULL of dust, you'd be surprised how good the PS4 is at eating the stuff by the truckload.

for note: this is not in any particular order, the process is fairly straighforward but read everything here before beginning.

a vacuum cleaner nozzle to the air vents down each side of the console will help a little, but you really need to open it up and clean it, to do this properly you will need a specialised tool kit like mine (AS WELL AS a regular screwdriver set) in order to remove the battery and access the heatsink: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Draper-82399-Security-Screwdriver-Driver/dp/B01GZWT5FW/ref=asc_df_B01GZWT5FW/?tag=googshopuk-21&linkCode=df0&hvadid=208050023643&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=18289670916909529455&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=1006548&hvtargid=pla-451189246444&psc=1&th=1&psc=1 it doesn't have to be this set, it just needs to have size 8 and 9 security heads, but you may as well buy a full set - never know when you might need a weirdo screw head!

my PS4 disassembled to an adequate level for cleaning: https://i.gyazo.com/3018801ae64f258605b3e1f857df537f.jpg

1 - fan; clean each individual blade with a cotton bud while holding a vacuum cleaner nozzel to it.

2 - heatsink; same proceedure as fan clean.

3 - transformer ribbon cable; when you dislodge the transformer after unscrewing it, flip it 190 or so degrees anti-clockwise and lay to rest on the frame of the PS4, as seen in the picture. be EXTREMELY careful of the ribbon cable; do not pull it! if it breaks your, PS4 is a brick until you take it to some sort of specialist to get the cable reattatched.

4 - transformer; thoroughly vacuum nozzel the vent visible in the picture, as well as the large hole on the opposite side. again, be extremly careful not to pull on the ribbon cable, treat it like it's made of bendy glass or something.

5 - base panel.

CAUTION: while vacuuming the fan and heatsink, the fan must be held at all times to prevent it from spinning; allowing it to spin may damage it.

clean every surface that does not have electrical components on it (just to be safe, don't touch them) with a cotton bud and vacuum nozzel, especially the base panel, it's probably caked in dust.

i suggest you look up a YouTube video on how to disassemble the PS4, just to make it a bit easier.

i hope you find this helpful, and seriously bro if you come back to me and say you have a slim and not a regular i'm gonna neck.

... Just like any computer... Perhaps putting your PS in a room with good airflow, and at a relative low temperature (unless you're living in an area that's already below 20ºC, users are free to convert it to Fahrenheit if they want to) compared to ambient temperature (assuming that ambient temperature is usually around 25ºC, again convert to Fahrenheit if you feel like it), on top of keeping it clean of cr- -dust and stuff...

... you know... basic maintenance...

... Usually helps, like... a lot...

... Also helps to properly configure your game's graphical settings to actually fit t the bill of PS4... Like, putting the graphical rendering to Enhanced (since the client is the same, but simply compiled for PS's hardware and OS) instead of Legacy will require more of your PS4... like... the equivalent of 2 PS4 consoles, at the same time... Just wiggling that fact out there...

... I don't know... Its already known to the public that consoles are pretty much overpriced PCs with absolutely no hardware customization capabilities (...No, changing gamepads isn't hardware customization...) but people still seem to be under the impression that games are made specifically for the specific hardware that PS4 comes with, and will keep requiring from it exactly the same despite the ton of sh- -stuff being consecutively added and changed...

... That used to happen during PS1, PS2 and PS3 lifetimes.... Not from PS4 onwards, especially with this thing called, like... digital distribution... you know, the one that requires an online connection to actually get the stuff...?

... Yeah, just had to leave this fact here...

... I don't know, basic maintenance usually helps... But only if you actually want to do it... If you don't, well...

Spoiler

like...

Spoiler

... Complaining doesn't get you anywhere... Or asking for stuff that doesn't make sense nowadays...

Spoiler

... Just clean your PS4... It will actually appreciate your effort...

you say that, but there isn't really much you can change on PS4 to improve the performance of Warframe, the only one i can think of off the top of my head is "GPU particles" in the settings; i have no idea what OP is talking about with "I didnt have nvidia Fx on" - NVIDIA has nothing to do with PS4, and there is no such option in Warframe's settings, or the PS4 itself.

otherwise, absolutely, basic maintenance is essential, if you've never even picked up your PS4 to blow down and clear the side vents, how can you expect it to keep working?

... Yeah, I don't know why OP said that either... The relation between Sony and nVIDIA is so high, it got perfectly matched by my inability to see the OP actually mentioning nVIDIA...

I actually had to scroll back up and read it properly. The thing just slipped by haha
