I was still hoping it would be more enticing than my snipetron vandal.

Any additional damage per shot it does gets edged out by reloading time. Both have similar RoF

Vandal - 6 shots,  - 2 sec of reload
Vectis - 6 shots - 5 sec of reload

But snipers are kinda not worth it anyways.

In the span of firing 6 shots Vectis has to reload 5 times. Each reload lasts 1 second. Thus reload is 5 seconds compared to Svandal's 2 seconds for 6 shots. So... it seems it is YOU who is smoking something

I have to agree on this. I've stated my views on the current paths of powercreep Warframe was taking (hell, i can do a speech about Brakk, but that's not the topic at hand.) However, Vectis is extremely justified in its damage position. MASSIVE burst damage, but god forbid you miss.

I begg to differ on the "it's not even over power" part.

higher dps than Lanka by a large margin

similar fire rate (even when you considered reload + recoil)

hit scan

no annoying blue blur disurpting the screen.

 

the only thing lanka really beat it is its serration damage vs AP

Craft at a much cheaper material cost and time

Obtain at a lower level than it's competitor

more than double the dps of it's competitor with prime chamber (roughly 1.5 with charged chamber)

hit scan instead of travel time compare to its competitor

No visual glitch that can affect its performance compare to its competitor

 

Yeah, it's pretty OP, unless you have a very skewed sense of game balance

 

don't get me wrong, I am not exactly crying for buff or nerf, I couldn't care less because I can craft and use it.

 

But when a weapon is bluntly superior than it's competitor of its class, I am not going to cover my eyes and say, "oh yeah, this weapon is not OP at all"

 

so being better than the lanka means its overpowered? O.o

The Snipetron Features a higher firing rate of course.... in exchange the Vectris gets to have more crit chance, crit damage and base damage allowing it to effectively snipe away lvl 100+ heavies.

 

But then again I think the Lanka still kinda wins it as allrounder if you can get used to the charge mechanism. (Not to mention the Lanka can actually use Heavy Caliber and hit everything just fine)

That's not OP. beating one weapon doesn't make it OP. if anything, it just finally shows the Lanka wasn't THAT good.

when it's over powering every weapon of its class, yeah sure it is.

Sniper shouldn't beat the DPS output of a shotgun, or assault rile in most situations and game mechanics, it makes sense in terms of game balance.

So to determine whether that weapon is powerful or not can only be determined by weapons of its similar class, and in this case, it is too powerful.

 

As a sniper rifle, Lanka it self is not bad, it does its job well even till level 200+ enemies, but just because it does its job well, doesn't mean it's not dwarfed when compare to Vectis.

 

That's not OP. beating one weapon doesn't make it OP. if anything, it just finally shows the Lanka wasn't THAT good.
