Once you finish that quest and get the collar, the collar will stay with you and can be used for other Kubrows you may get in the future. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Also make sure to give it DNA stabilizers every few days if you have it out of stasis, because if the health drops all the way to the bottom, it dies and goes away forever.
