If he chooses to act like that, he will. You are trying to be polite, you are trying to tell him/her to calm down and to be polite and civilized, but you can't do that because of reasons. In the end the conversation ends and sometimes you feel very, very stupid for giving that person attention instead of ignoring and mind your business.
