Balor Fomorian Invasions? - Multi-Pronged Assaults

Just a thought; we just got Archwing, but Fomorians are still massive, Grineer built battleships, I think it'd take more than a pair of wings and a big gun to take down, so maybe when we take the actual fight to them, it should be run from multiple angles.

So, these missions would randomly pop up like normal invasions, however Fomorians would only be deployed against Corpus worlds and you don't really side with either faction, but Corpus will be considered allies during these missions.

Instead of picking a faction, you would pick Archwing or standard attack.

In the standard attack, it would then match-make you with a squad and deploy you. The mission will be randomized between Sabotage (Destroy smaller, internal Reactors), Exterminate (weaken the local security forces), Capture (learn vital weaknesses in the ship), and Deception (uploading viruses to limit ship efficiency). These missions will deploy you like a normal mission, making use of your standard arsenal and allowing you to hit it from the inside.

In the Archwing attack, you will make your attack on the Fomorian from the outside, destroying its weapon batteries and breaking into the interior where you destroy the larger reactors, or even simply clear out the smaller, defending ships in an extermination type mission. The idea is to take out the guns and draw the fire of the Fomorian and its defenses away from infiltrating squads who are running the mission above, given there'd be large groups of players doing both types of missions simultaneously, but they won't be directly effecting each other.

Each attack would weaken the Fomorian, and per standard Invasion, every so many runs will earn you something at the conclusion, sent from the Lotus or the Corpus. Runs in both Archwing and standard modes will be directed towards the same meter. On the successful destruction of the Fomorian, alongside the gift from the Lotus or Corpus, Tenno would receive an enraged message from Vay Hek.

For added difficulty, perhaps every so many runs would spawn a Grineer Death Squad of high ranking Eximi or something would appear to impede your progress.

Just taking what exists and using it to change up gameplay once in awhile... thoughts?

This sounds really good, and definitely something DE should implement. We already had missions inside Fomorians, so I don't see why not have these again now that Fomorians are back, and the added mission variety would make it all the more interesting.

Maybe this is a little too ambitious, but if we could also see what sections of the Fomorians were still in need of intervention, what the status on the overall thing was, and choose missions accordingly, that would also go a long way towards increasing the immersion.

That looks like a great idea for an Event. In fact, we have been told about "the coming Fomorians" several times, and Lotus even said we'll be ready now that we have our Archwings. So... this might be more close to what we may get than expected :)

A little more involvement in the story would definitely be nice, right now there's a lot of talk of the factions, groups, and people of Warframe do but nothing to show us that it is as they say.

Indeed.
