What Whould Make Archwing Be More Fun/ More Popular

What Archwing needs to be more "mainstream".

 

1) A missile lock warning.

Personally my style is hit 2 the moment I see a Hellion.

But some players are kinda slow in that regard, so give them a visual missile lock cue, helps them.

I don't find sounds necessary as some players play without sound and all that missile lock beeps will annoy me.

 

 

2) Original movement. 

Enough said.
 

 

3) Better radar / Mini map.

We need 3D radar mappings for Archwings !

 

 

4) Make weapon parts a guaranteed drop from all missions.

Right now you can run 20 games of Sabotage and get not a single weapon part.

And not to mention the pool is getting diluted.

 

 

5) Make a mid level interception at Saturn.

 

6) More map types !

All Archwing needs to be great:

 

- The invisible missiles that some enemies fire need to be fixed and possibly nerfed.

- Hybrid missions that mix on-foot and archwing (which is in the works and will be arriving hopefully soom )

- More interesting enemies. Ogma and the Gox are a good start. More big mini-boss enemies. (grineer and corpus ships)

- More maps. Interception gets boring very fast. Exterminate is meh.

- Better heads up display, the warframe minimap doesnt work in Archwing at all.

- Guns and Archwings "parts" that drop like Void equipment need different drop rates and areas

- Archwing melee to not eat up the same meter we use to sprint

- better indicators of where enemies, mods, and items are when they are in the distance

- sentinals and kubrows in space

sentinals would work but kubrows dont they just die out there :)

1) Encourage Teamplay through Archwing Skills

Right now, I think Itzal's the only one with some group support ability (Penumbra). This encourages me to stick with the Itzies and get all nice and cloaked for a bit. Odonata and Elytron do not have anything to help other people except for killing things. That's fine too, but I always feel like I'm in an MMO playing a quest solo and these guys are just doing the same quest as me and we're not really in a party. It doesn't reward being social.

 

2) Archwing Maneuvers

Instead of parkour, we need the ability to perform actual maneuvers. Barrel rolls, loops, Immelman turns, etc. Press a button, press some movement keys, do the maneuver and gain bonuses to your defense. Why this instead of just baking it in to the normal movement? Because "flying" doesn't really feel like flying.

 

3) Improve Melee

Right now you simply spam E to go nuts with your oversized melee weapon. It doesn't feel like a melee attack but more like a manual Bladestorm. 

 

4) Mission Variety

We get the same ol' gameplay with bird lifters. It's such a cool concept and we're doing boring stuff with it. What if you had to intervene between a deadly capital ship duel between Grineer and Corpus warships? Choose one side then disable one ship's capital weapons--mobile sabotage?--while each ship tries to pound each other to stardust. You can't stay still, it's a moving space battle. Or an escort mission (hear me out) where you provide cover for a VIP from a ship through a minefield or asteroid field. Make it dense so that there's a limited path and players can actually choose to cut off one avenue of attack by staying at a chokepoint. 

 

There's so many things space ninjas should be doing in space.

 Adding a kind of second boost would be amazing.Like a third speed.

 

 There would be strafing/shooting speed wich is the only speed where you can shoot, but is really slow, the 1st boost wich is the standard shift key, where you can get around faster but can't shoot and can do some cool moves, and last the second boost wich is a a way faster speed than just pressing shift, can't shoot and is way harder to turn but on space missions like interception it's way more usefull to get around

i covered this in the changing envirement/special manouvers thingy :) u can wallrun asteroids and so build up a boost so when u jump u get a liftoff instead of just changing a gear

Hi fellow tenno,

 

with the latest event/tactical alert i saw a lot of people on the wiki complaining that they are pushing us into playing archwing, and i kinda agree with that cause lets be clear archwing isn't what is should be. here are some of my ideas to make it more fun;

 

 

Let tenno use their frames in space

this is an actualy pretty obvious fix, instead of using 4 abilities in space let us also use the frame's abilities cause when u see us in space u can see the frame itself is completly visible so let us use their abilities.

 

make it easier to help your team mates up

something like the nekros augment mod, so u dont need to be right on the player but u can shoot a kind of defibrillator that would help the player go up but u lose some shield ( cause it needs an energy source ) and u need to wait till he is completely back up.

 

Fix the dual stat mods

now u lose half the dmg for some status chance and that is some big Nerf cause if u see with the warframe weapons the difference is only 30dmg for 60% status chance, this arent the only mods that are bad compaired to some other but it is the most noticeable of them all cause they are new. also am i the only one that thinks the archwings should have more shield ( especially odanda cause he is a defensive wing) 

 

Give the frames a purpose in archwing once again

like give them a passive ability in archwing like

vauban the mechanic keeps healing his fellow archwings,

frost,ember and saryn should give the weapons +?% more dmg of their type

mirage duplicates the abilities she uses and gives the weapons a faster projectile speed,

nekros ( obviously) would have no effort in resurecting players even after death ( helpful cause maps are so huge)

Nyxes abilities would also confuse the enemy into attacking their allies 

etc. i believe this way people should think before taking a certain frame into battle and this also gives more diversity to the archwing builds

 

Use archwing like u showed us in the trailer

so the ship where the mission was is almost completely destroyed ordis cant land to get u out of there, so she shoots your archwing to u so u can defend ordis and get out of there safe ( exp would be divided between tenno and archwing) this would open up more mission modes for archwing cause u got ordis to defend/ u can open up space to use a kind of hyper drive so u can shoot out of the conflict area (kind of hacking mining bots to remove debris that is in your way) 

 

Give us some parcour in space

this is maybe the hardest one to do cause it is with moving meteors ( moving environment), so u can wall run between 2 asteroids that are gonna collide or u die trying, doing this would boost the speed of your archwing ( cause it can shoot itself of the asteroid) and it can also kill enemy's that are chasing u.

 

like am-bunny said: some elements doesnt work in space

so why not make new elements that do work in space ?

like void: creates a black hole inside of the target pulling all the enemys closer to him/her/it

light: aura effect : increases dmg done to this target, stackable but doesnt increase the dmg of the light itself ( high5 teamplay)

darkness: blinds the target in darkness, this effect is contagious and spread to other enemys in 10-20m (can only spread from

                source)

 

let us use Sentinels in space

like ok the kubdrows cant live in space but sentinels can right ? the only thing they got is that they are pretty under-powered in space cause some abilities doesn't work or are passive in archwing ( vacuum cleaner,wyrm's pull, etc) 

 

Make some weapons even new peeps can get

ok i kind of get that u need to farm for GOOD weapons but right now why would u farm the weapons ?

the starter weapons are stronger eather way ?

for leveling ? that 1 level isnt gonna make the difference

 

Maybee make some sync in the archwing abilities ?

u cant really pull of combos with the skills the current archwings have

some are to weak ,some are even not useful at all, some shouldn't even have a timer ( odanatas shield should be like rhinos iron skin but then weaker ( cause he has other skills to u know ?))

there is no team in archwing only an I .

 

More swarms of enemies

( like space mosquitoes ?)

give us the most annoying bosses and mobs to fight let us really hate the boss

( sorry for the reference )but Borderlands2 s handsome jack is a nice example of an ultimate boss,

he teases u the whole game and is the brain behind all previous bosses u fought,

like i feel like vor is the boss i hate the most not cause he is strong but cause he is annoying as hell

there is no other boss that teleports then shoots a ray that insta depletes your shield,( and talk even when he is dead)

or make a kind of a raid boss in space not a 4man mission but like 10man vs a huge grinneer battleship ( like the event that is going on now) but then a ship that moves arround and uses different kind of rockets

(hoaming, splash,nanoviruses and a black hole generator ?)

 

Change in mellee use in space

alright i get it that is is hard to use mellee without the boost in space but what about each melle type got a type of "stance" special movements that change the movement and attack speed the mellee weapon does like a blade can do a kind of bladestorm nice...maybee to easy ? use the sword in a way that u can knock enemys into eachother while using the flat surface? BASEBALL FOR DAYS

so u use a hammer to kill them nice....

what about breaking the hammer into 2 hammers and do a thunderclap that moves everything out of your way 

This are some extreme examples but still the aimbot of the mellee weapons is pretty OP imy :)

 

WE ARE IN SPACE U CAN DO WHAT U WANT

even though i don't dislike archwing i just don't find it as fun as parkouring in a free space exploring areas, trolling your friends

 

Mision variety 

simple missions like:

ordis needs to get out of this conflicted area DEFEND HIM

those mining ships may come in handy hack them so we can use them for our own good

there is a supernova class battleship comming to earth destroy it before he destroys earth

what about an archwing car theather :p

give us infested ships in space ( not small ones) like ships that are affected and controled by the infested yesh a whole ship ( lephantisch archwing battle royal)

after an interception mission and everyone exited at the same time, someone saw you capture him before he tells his higher ups

and why havent we seen any boss higher ranked as canselor or SGT. where is the mothership ? where are the leaders of corpus and grinneer ?

 

 

 

 

This are just some ideas i had in mind after they removed the link between archwing and frame ( health,shield etc)

 

if u got something else i should but in here just say it :)

In my opinion there are a few problems with Archwing:

1) Is a general gameplay which needs a major improvement. Right now it's just a giant shooting range with occasional flying from point A to point B. I'd like to see some more tactics involved in gameplay. I'm pretty sure as soon as DE figures out how to make the gameplay more in-depth, Archwing would become much better.

 

2) No cooperation feeling. Somebody already said something similar, but it feels like you are playing alone in a big open world where some other players doing their own thing. Only occasionaly you see some mosquito flying by, which happens to be a fellow warframe. And it's not because of the players being lone wolfs, it's just a general feeling when you playing Archwing mode.

 

3) I think there should be at least some difference between warframes. Somebody suggested frames to have only one skill, and I think it would be a great change. So you have 3-4 Archwing skills and one personal warframe skill. It might be a good idea if all (or most) personal skills would be some kind of support, shields or buffs for your allies depending on a warframe specialization to get stronger co-op feeling.

 

4) This is a minor thing, but pickups are just annoying as hell. I was playing with my brother, and after picking up a mod we searched for it for 5 minutes so the other could get it... Same goes for health and energy pickups, you need to be able to get those quicker, rather than flying around for 1 minute to collect a bunch of energy. It just unnecessary slows the gameplay down, which is not very fast in the first place.

Playing over and... What for? Unless I need something from a gamemode I don't play it. Do you?

There is no reason for playing for fun (at least some of them will find it is fun, which I won't repeatedly play it but occasionally I will play it even I already get everything in archwing)

No grind = No reason to play it really other than once a blue moon. See: Most of the Star Chart.

 

A limited/fair Grind = Tolerable amount of goal focused grind.

 

Over populates tables of a grindfest = No real reason they actively play but if other nodes give nothing else special, favor this node.. but with no real expectations/no getting hopes up.

 

RNG won't be leaving, fixing RNG is the best options to give replay purpose without being too hopeless.

Also, better controller support would help. Currently no way to use my abilities while playing warframe.

well they should add an kind of aim assist for when u use a controller but then the game has to see the difference between a controller and a keyboard, also i sometimes use my controller on my pc just to try to get good with it but it is a lot slower and harder then with a normal keyboard

i like space combat games, and i really like what u have done with archwings game play. Since its still new it looks promising. Maybe u should make more transformable things, like wings open up when speed boosting, or make rockets look more like from macross, that would be awesome :D Maybe mixing the space combat with land combat, like one team destroying capital ships from the inside while others fight enemies in space, that would involve more people in mission rather than just 4 players max. It would look nice fighting the invasion in sky and clouds of a planet while others fight invasion on land.  Also a stance for melee. Like abave said parkour would look cool, maybe it wouldnt do much, but still it would look cool, maybe running on large enemy ships before infiltrating it. Splitting enemies in half, like in mgs revengeance would also look awesome, and some space armor attachments (that are free, or awarded from mission prizes, not payeable!). These are some ideas, maybe they are not good, but i hope it will trigger better ideas from other people or developers. All in all, good job, full support.
