I agree with the tracer round either doing damage or using less ammo. Also increase that velocity for the tracer round, very hard to hit anything with it from a distance. Just make the tracer round hitscan honestly. 

 

The idea for this gun is cool and with my Banshee this has the potential to work nicely with Sonar.

I think :

 

1) tracer velocity must be increased.

2) tracer cost should be reduced.

3) Projectiles should explode when they hit tracer ( Some weird hitboxes can ruin a nice tracer placement. Airbursts will fix that). That explosion should be small. About 0.5 m radius.

basically everything the OP suggested was also said upon the buzlok's release, and you can see how that's worked out so far =/...

let's add all these interesting unique weapons/frames to the game, but they're outshadowed by a minority of high-performers =/
