Archwing - What It Needs To Be Played

A fun addition could be that when you blow out the windows on a corpus ship there is actual sucktion that can pull you out into space (wich of course you can prevent by not standing too close to the windows and moving against it (the console would probably have to be in a place where you cant be sucked out) and if you get sucked out ordis admonishes you, pops your archwing on you and you have the option to fly back in or circumvent a part of the level by flying outside the ship and finding another entry point

OP EDIT:

I added a few suggestions from the comments, and added a new section.

Keep on posting more ideas that you want added to this post (by of course mentioning you want it added -- I will give you full credit as I did with the others)!

What a lot of people want and what DE is supposedly working on is being able to move from archwing to normal mode and back again in such a way that it makes sense. One thing that is clear is that we're going to get it update 17 or before, because that's when they said that this feature will be used in the raid that's coming out update 17.

i think they said that they discarded direct transitions between archwing and foot

They mention that there is a transition/crossover during the raid.

They did, but as i understand raids, that just means there's going to be an archwing stage somewhere, meaning not an actual crossover but just a mission with archwings and then you find yourself inside the golem. I still have a problem with the only substantial content update for archwing being a raid.

I'm glad this ended up in the hot topics, helps with the visibility.

Archwing has the potential to be awesome, my worry is they saw the initial dislike and got the wind knocked out of their sails.

No Archwing feedback section and very little updates to it shows that.

I and many others will throw feedback to them but we really need an Archwing feedback forum to make sure they are giving us the message they want and are going to read it though.

1) What would you think of Archwing Syndicates? Search for; Void Angels; The Archwing Syndicate. Its a topic about 6 Archwing Syndicates.

2) I would like to hack a cargo container, on Corpus, maps and get a Gox or Carrier or any drone, to follow me. Speaking of cargo containers, Search; Archwing Mission [ Concept ] Convoy. It details an excellent escort mission.

3) Would anyone like to use Sanctuary, Ghost, Guardian or other Companion Mods? Search for Archwing Shield Matrix. It describes how to incorporate these mods into Archwing.

Search Fan Concepts and you will find a lot more ideas.

I don't know about anyone else but I always thought about the idea of fighting large enemies a cool idea for Archwing. when first discussed on Devstreams Scott (I recall) said they wanted to make it look very "anime". large enemies definitely fit this bill and while J-3 golem  is coming I would certainly like him to usher in fighting larger enemies, This could work really well for fighting ships.

My examples shown are quite simple in execution but I think if they're combined together they could really work well.

We have a Death Star core attack mission, why cant we have a Death Star core *escape* mission, complete with expanding flames trying to murder us from behind?

I need more reasons to be able to drag my clanmates into high speed races through twisting corridors.

4th skill is trash. Pushes enemies away.... Its actually a bad thing to use in Interception since it doesn't (at least when I played Odonata) break their connection to the terminal so they can still capture it and now they are further away from you. Second skill never worked for me, hellions still wreck me when I use the flares. First skill is pretty useful, but that's it. Homing missiles do damage to yourself if they explode close to you. Plus they don't home in well, or maybe the enemy is out of range, which is annoying.

I guess I could better phrase it. Odonata is a little less straight forward. I compare it to a Loki, where there are situational skills. I'm not sure if there is an Archwing that would be a good starter one right now. I think Iztal is the most fun in a simple way, but that is likely just be my play style.

They stop shooting you if they were Repelled. New enemies may be shooting at you.

                       ---------------------------------------------

We need Corpus Cameras and turrets. We need Grineer Regulators, camera drones(from spy2.0) and Zepelins.

yes but i suspect it will be, like in the previous raid, launching another mission, not a direct transition, they have already said that messing with scales for visual expression has made them discard direct transitioning, i would be the most happy if they do it directly tho

blowing up an entire grineer or corpus ship seems to defeat the purpose of any exterminate mission. i would rather have to fight through some small defenses to break into the ships from outside and exterminate then extract in the normal fashion.

We could have the ordis loading screen, be dropped off near the ship, fight our way to it and find a vent as a point of entry which would let us in the ship and continue foot missions as before. or in crossfire missions the ship has a chance of exploding so a timer counts down, we have to escape the blast radius via archwing and travel to the nearby attacking ship to take it out from the inside too (while also fight space grineer/corpus to get to the other ship)
