Clean Up The Grandmaster's Names On Planets... Looks Awful.

What about an asteroid -call it the "Hall of Fame" or whatever you wish- that was solely to honor GMs.  When the planetoid is clicked on, it brings up a javascript sphere, with floating GM user names forming the perimeter of the sphere.  It would initially appear with a slow 3-dimensional rotation, but could also offer click-n-drag functionality, so a user could click on it and drag a given GM name around to the front to be viewed.  With the star system view in the background, it would look pretty kewl.

Such a location could theoretically have many functions.  Call it the "Tenno Headquarters", make the HoF one part of it, and you could add buttons to one side of the java sphere display for Bug Reports, Developer Credits/Personnel, a link to the Clan dojo listings, Lobby Chat, a link to bring up the Forums in a separate browser window, a link to the Become a Founder page (or whatever the current promotion is), Player stats, any number of options.

this is pretty similar to an idea mentioned in earlier page, but i tried to be more specific:

what if they constructed a small tileset? it would fit best on the new orokin levels. it could be a small room with a monument of maybe 20 names carved in it, like a wall of fame of some sort (let's say, dead orokin war heroes). then the tileset could be copy-pasted and the names would be changed to the next 20 or so. or the monument could have some number of names carved in all four walls, it's most important to be able to read em.

now this has downsides, it would depend on rng dropping that location in your game, but at least that way it would be cool to pass through.

this could be something to show players their appreciation of supporting them. not a freakin list made in notepad.

A monument in every missions, with the names of those who were on the Solar Landmark?

I like the idea of a tile/room that could randomly be placed in the mission.  Have it keyed to the planet, so Pluto would have one that had the names of the pluto people on it... mars would have same room, but mars names... etc.

Other thing that might be cool.  Make it a REQUIRED room for the Boss planet.  Like set it just outside the room/tile in which the boss is located.  Not only does that mean you have to see it to get to the boss, it could also be a marker saying "hey, next room is boss room."

I think that would kind of look funny, if you were about to engage a very deadly boss and before you enter his chamber, there is a bunch of names with no affiliation to the boss which could kind of break the immersion.

Like; Four man squad newbie adventures.

// Newbie #1: "Ok guys, Captain Vor #24167 is in next room...!"

// Turns around corner.

// Sees a bunch of names, including "xXNaruto999Hoakagezz".

// ...

// Captain Vor #24167: "Greetings Tenno!" -trollface-

Not if the room is a trophy/relic room.  I dunno, i think DE could come up with something cool for each boss that would make sense and yet still serve the purpose.

For example, Tyl Regor could have a lab with sample jars and cloning pods around the room with the peoples names on them...

Sargas Ruk could have a room with display cases showing off the stuff he stole from all the dig sites.

It would add more flavor to the boss himself (Tyl Regor being a gene specialist, Sargas Ruk being a treasure hunter etc) and be a way to have the names prominent on a given planet.  This could be expanded to give each boss his own full blown room for the encounter rather than the same tile as a random ship, just with a boss in it.

not in every mission, but just one of the tiles that have a chance to spawn in a map as a connecting piece.

let's say a monument holds 60 names on all four sides. there would be at least three possible monument tiles similar in construction, but honoring different gms. it may or may not spawn in your orokin mission. sometimes there could be two of them, even three on a single map.

it wouldn't hurt players in anyway, it would honor people who supported you from the very beginning and it's pretty gosh darnit easy to make.

that is my opinion. and i'm not even a gm.

I'm sure DE would be able to implement it in an awesome way, but my suggestion is it shouldn't be an obvious advertisement banner for purchasing GM. I like your idea with putting the names onto "objects" but quite opposite, instead of displaying them in full view, then put them in the boss room and hide them a bit, so that curious players may unintentionally stumble upon the names.

And perhaps write the names in grineer / corpus / infested language?

Edit; Actually, if the names were written in the other faction's language, I wouldn't mind them being displayed quite obvious.

So... We all know about the Grand Master package, and the Solar Landmark you get....

Well it looks like garbage... You have 7-10 names on a planet that is so unorganized and messy it is an eye sore....

Look at these.

dump2_zps449635aa.png

dump1_zpse3149d91.png

Even if it means getting rid of them... And since the Founders program is still going, past the March 16th closing date, it is only going to get worse....

Please do something about this.

What do you guys think? Is it an eye sore, do you not care, or do you think it looks good?

Ya know, it's kind of hard to believe that DE has so many people buying the $250 dollar package that every level on every planet is full the brim with names.

Nice job, DE.

Yeah, while I don't really mind if the names stay there or not, it really is a bloody eyesore. In fact, to the Grand Masters, this is a really lazy way for DE to show their gratitude. "Here, since you donated $250 to us, we'll reward you by randomly sticking your name under a planet description, even if it makes no sense to have it there."

This is GENIUS! I can't decide whether these trophy rooms should be part of the actual boss room or placed before/after the boss room. Either way, it would be a great addition to the level design and the boss fights, and fits into the universe as easter eggs. I like it! :D

Well, we could always take it a step further... What if we killed the boss and it unlocked a door that let us into the room.  Rather than have the boss drop the loot himself.  Kill the boss, it unlocks the door.  Go into the themed room, have a pedestal with our loot on it or put it on a table or whatnot, as well as the names around the room on objects... either in the appropriate language of the boss or however.  This would solve the problem of "loosing" the loot a boss drops when he dies and stuff goes flying or gets buried under his corpse or whatever.  This would also give a reason to enter the room and let those who want to explore it can while otherwise you can take your loot and run.

That is a wonderful idea!! I would love this!

If not this, what about having the names associated with the mission, written on the extraction ship? So as your frame is getting on, you can see the names carved in.

This is BRILLIANT!!

Would add more background info to the bosses as well as cleaning up the solar landmarks in the process, Two Ospreys one Bolt so to speak

Would not mind this at all either, would you have enough time to read the names though? Only thing i can see being a problem, otherwise, Great idea Zackai
