Kethus
It used to be fine, but at some point trying to record myself with Audacity, or TeamSpeak, or Warframe, or anywhere other than Skype results in this: Link (R.I.P. headset users). What could be causing it? edit: How it sounds like on Skype: Link. Same microphone, same settings. Edited July 22, 2015 by Kethus

Tali
For me it sounds like its broken or having an improper connection, but i dont have much knowledge about microphones so i may be wrong
Kethus
Updated first post with what it sounds like when I use Skype and Skype only. Even checking the box next to "Listen to this deivce" in Windows' Microphone properties still results in sounds like in the first recording. Brynslustafir
Is it the kind of headset where the Mic is on a swivel?
Kethus
No, it's like this: Though there is no difference if the mic is extended so I keep it inside. Edited July 22, 2015 by Kethus
Brynslustafir
My only thought is that it could be a wiring issue inside the earcup somewhere. But most headsets aren't designed to be opened and messed with, so I really don't know what to do.
Kethus
Since it works fine with Skype I thought I must have changed some setting without knowing. A similar thing happened with my old laptop and another microphone.
Brynslustafir
Oh, I forgot about that part. It has to be a software problem.
