Lancars
What will happen to some abilities that use weapon mods in there builds? Like exalted blade and landslide and hysteria? Are they gonna get buffed right away or forgotten?
Deadoon
They practically already have the damage built into them. Hysteria and exalted have a 250 base damage which is almost double the base damage of the next highest melee weapon. Compared to the highest weapon with comparable speed(dragon nikana), it is almost triple the damage. Really they don't need it too much, they lost some damage, but if they keep spoiled strike it should be fine.
(PSN)PillarOfWar
They better reduce the number of slots on weapon when they pull the damage mods.
OfficerBeepsky
They better reduce the number of slots on weapon when they pull the damage mods. Are you kidding? the entire point of that change is to free up slots for people to use utility rather than being forced to use up slots with mandatory mods
Deadoon
They better reduce the number of slots on weapon when they pull the damage mods. Why? if they reduced it to 6, the average number of points per slot would be 10, which is excessive no matter how you look at it. If you look at 100% status weapons, 4 of those slots would be used for many to be able to get the 100% status, which combined with that only being 28 mod points for those, the other two slots would have a max load of 16 per, which is only a few mods in existence right now thus nullifying the use of forma entirely. That sounds good. They way you want it we could leave the system as is but add more slots, same difference. It's fine as is now. Rather see archwing get worked on way more anyway. (PSN)Zashukitsune
They're not getting rid of really any mods, as far as I've heard, though people seem to always and only think the worst. All they've stated, at least on the subject of mods, is that they're aware of some mods being necessary to make it through basic gameplay, what they've got planned is not to replace or outright destroy mods, but rather to rebalance weapons and make it so there are far less "necessary" mods. How I interpret that is this, let's use serration as an example. You can absolutely still use it, but what they're gonna do is make it so you can either use it and focus on pure damage, or sacrifice that to use other mods such as ones that only raise one percentage and nothing else, status for instance. Melee Prowess is one mod that's been mentioned, it doesn't really do that much currently, so along with manipulating the natural status chance of weapons, melee prowess will possibly get a buff, or status itself will be altered, so that it makes more of an impact.
