0 (XBOX)TheMadCash
Umm there is a meter in the lower right of your screen. You feel it by getting a few kills to trigger em. You either need a syndicate weapon mod or a syndicate weapon to get the Syndicate Effect. It also provides bonuses to your warframe depending on which syndicate effect you have. 0 NixtheLow
Syndicates sell special mods for weapons/special weapons themselves that when equipped, show a small symbol over your ammo counter. Exp gained will fill said meter by a certain amount, and once that bar is full, a (very nice) AOE blast will occur and inflict damage and an effect. It's useful as CC in missions with high enemy spawn rates.

0 Irorone
Simplest explanation I can give: A syndicate weapon or a weapon with a syndicate mod will, based on the affinity you gain in battle, cause an aoe blast and give a buff or mild restore based on the syndicate the weapon/mod belongs to. 0 Spafbi
The syndicate weapon, or weapon having an installed syndicate augment mod, must be held and not holstered for the effect to proc. Affinity gained while holding the weapon adds up until the effect procs.

0 Enno69
It's worth noting affinity doesn't decrease over time, so you can holster an almost filled up gun and pull it out at the right time to trigger a more or less instant syndicate effect.
