Best Shotgun As Of U18?

Stealing the question from the Sniper Rifle thread, I was wondering what is or are considered the best shotguns in game currently.

I'm not at all a shotgun player, I don't enjoy the playstyle and I feel like I'm not really good at it either; though, the new sorties can feature "shotgun only" runs so I want to be prepared for it.

 

Which weapon should I chose to invest on with forma and such? Possibly a non charge one!

Sancti Tigris has pretty much the highest damage per shot out of all shotguns (not counting in headshots with Vaykor Hek), besides that, the moment enemies reach more than ~70kHP, Vaykor Hek is a straight upgrade, offering both higher burst and sustained DPS than Sancti Tigris.

The strongest is the Sancti Tigris. Without any doubt. My favourite however is the Strun Wraith.

The Hek and Vaykor Hek are pretty strong too.

Isn't the Sancti Tigris fire mechanic a bit annoying though?

I personally Like phage if I'm forced to use a shotgun. Its not the best but its fun.

With the amount of damage it pumps out, you get used to it.

Uhm, well this is basically what I needed to know; since I'll use it for sorties only I'll probably go for Vaykor Hek, though I'd bettter have a ready-to-go Sancti just in case...

You really can't go wrong with minmaxed Vaykor Hek.
