Is prime warframe powerful then regular warframe?

Prime Frames just have a bit better stats than normal ones like 25 more armor or 1.5 more sprint speed. On top of that they just look better but the Prime frames do get a it of advantage in the void in which if you get near a death orb you get 250 energy and that's pretty much it. Like PUR3K1LL3R said regular frames could be as powerful as their prime versions. Its all about the mods that make them powerful really.

Prime Warframe's / Weapons are direct upgrades and are more customizable with mod slots. Prime Warframe have an increace in Shields, Health, Energy and Armor. When near a Death orb in the Void, You gain free energy per orb. Most Prime Weapons do more damage, crit, status, etc than regular weapons.

There are often moderate boosts between a prime version of a weapon/frame and it's regular counter part. However, they usually aren't super powerful comparatively speaking. For frames, you get more polarities, and a small boost to a combination of either Health, shields, armor, energy pool, or sprint speed. Weapons usually offer a boost to dmg, then a boost to either crit chance and crit mult or status, and clip size/ammo pool and/or fire rate for the appropriate weapons.  While they aren't super powered up, there isn't really a reason not to upgrade to the better version.

Prime frames have better stats, usually. Not stronger, per se, but I suppose in that aspect, they are superior to their regular frame counterparts.

 

And also, your mileage may vary, but Prime frames are also stronger..................... in the fashion department.

But the regular frames can be just as powerful as their prime variants.

This. If you want a truly powerful frame, it's going to take a potato (a reactor that double mod capacity), forma, and high rank/maxed out mods to cultivate that power.

Just to clear things up, prime frames have the same number of mod slots as normal frames and with Forma you can customize any mod slots.
