Rosearmstrong
Please can you do an event for people that have cancer like pink ribbon week or wear pink. The reason im asking is because my aunt had breast cancer and lost one of her breast and my friend lost his wife to cancer. I know all cancers is in this event. Its sad that people go through cancer and not win the fight but the ones that do still havea hard time. I have Pink on my warframe for support to people that have cancer and beat it and represent the ones that did not win but still put a fight. This is a suggestion but im hoping you could consider it thank you. Im sorry if this upsets you I dont mean to upset people I want to help in a good way. NDarkstar
I have cancer, it started out testicular and is now in my lungs. I'm sorry your aunt and your friend's wife is gone, but I don't want to deal with that in Warframe. I come here to try and forget that my body is broken and ravaged by cancer and chemo, that like the Lotus, I too will never be able to have children. That the medications I have to take every day in order to keep my body running (including hormone therapy, for life) will eventually kill me by either overloading my liver, or causing my heart to give out. I don't want to think that even 10 years later, I'm still dealing with cancer that was never cured, that killed my immune system, that has moved to my lungs and is still inside my body, waiting for whatever the hell it is that sets it off again. 10 years, not cured. I get that you're grieving for your losses. I don't want to revisit mine because you feel entitled to slap people in the face with yours. Now I've had to slap you in the face with MINE because you're here asking for the DEv community to cater to yours. What about other cancers? Is breast cancer the only one that matters to you? Is it even fair to do something like this? FYI, I have to "go do the boob pancake" (mammogram) twice a year because the BEP that was used for my chemotherapy CAN CAUSE BREAST CANCER IN MEN. So no. Please no. God no. DE, I've been traumatized enough, please don't add to that. TL;DR, Infested are space-cancer. Fight infested. Keep real world diseases out of WF as much as possible, please. NDarkstar
Pink ribbons for breast cancer, yellow for testicular, who knows what else for prostate, bone, blood, lymphatic. Just no. I don't celebrate disease, I celebrate cures. Also, I'm not mad at you, people seem to have this idea that making a big party out of cancer makes it better for everyone. Do we have rape parties? No. Rape is horrific and people don't want to relive it. Almost having died twice during chemo and winding up in a clean room with three teams of specialists trying to keep me alive another day isn't something I want to relive. I dont believe people celebrate cancer, but yes the cures and the support for the victims, but thats me. I dont think it is a terrible idea. I mean, we have moframe. Why not branch out the support for the fight against other diseases.
Necrius
Yeah, let's remind people in the video game that irl they're dying.
Feallike
OK not to be mean... but... NO. This is a video game, this isn't real life. Also we don't want any more drama like this. If you want cancer events their are MILLLIONS, and youtubers do them ALL the time. Warframe doesn't need one.

It's about all kinds of cancer and yes it's specifically about man. But honestly they're the only cancer awareness / research group that focus specifically on man health. What about breast cancer? This thing is EVERYWHERE. No, it doesn't need more exposure, especially not in a game. I'm against it, movember is nice because it's not intrusive. The OP talked about cancer in general. And I'm sorry, but I honestly think the more the better. And yes, Moframe isn't intrusive, but neither does this have to be. A similar thing can be made. NDarkstar
The original post was exclusive to breast cancer and was only changed after my reply. I'm still against this. Every time I see one of those damn ribbons, IRL, I start to taste chemo again. It tastes like metal and rot and death. I don't need that from my gaming. As for Movember, I look at it and go, cool, facial hair, and roll on. I don't want to see ribbons, I don't want to see another place where I'm marginalized, patted on the head, and told that something I hate is being done 'for me'. If you want to do something FOR ME, skip it. I don't need any more nightmare fuel and reminders of misery, thanks.
Genitive
Topics like that should not be touched upon in video games.
Bakim0n0
I'm all for cancer awareness events but I feel like they should be done independently of the game. For example, do a twitch streaming marathon with donations or even rally up wave based donations where people pledge x amount / wave or whatever. This sort of thing is absolutely do-able by the community.
