how does volt's 1 work?

Seems to act weirdly, the tooltip says my max chain is 5(side note, can I make that go up?) but using it against infested in the gift alert, I fried around 10 in one cast. so is the tooltip lying or did I misinterpret something?

Electric procs chain to nearby enemies. That's probably it.

So it's coming off the status proc rather than the ability's chain itself.

It's either that the damage can jump up to five times, or the proc itself (since it forces an electrical status effect with the same effects).

ah, so its the forced electric procs. which I've seen daisy chain pretty hard with electrochroma.

 

seems the electric status proc can proc on the enemies it chains to(a,b,c, a gets zapped, chains to b, but not c, b then gets its own proc which then hits c.). which would explain the excessive chaining.

I'm glad it works how it does. It's what a first ability should be; quick, effective, but not overly powerful. It's like Smite.
