dot above mod rank

Question

i was searching to find out what is the dot just above the mod level, with two mods of the same kind there might be one with it and another without it. I have seen people sugesting that that means that the mod is equipped but that is not so as i have a number of mods like this and that are not equipped, i do remember using some of the mods at some point, so i am thinking that also might be a bug .

No, that definitely means it's equipped on something. It's possible it's on an item that is itself is not equipped (ex: On Excalibur, while you have Mag equipped), but it's still considered to be an installed mod.

The dots above indicate the rarity of the mod:

  • Bronze-common = 1 dot
  • Silver-uncommon = 2 dots
  • Gold-rare = 3 dots
  • White-Primed = 4 dots

(I was looking at the wrong dot)

The dot you're referring to does indicate weather a mod is equiped somewhere in your arsenal. It does not necessarily have to be equiped in your current loadout.

So if you're using a Braton and Arrow mutation is equiped on your Paris, then Arrow Mutation will still have that dot visible.
