Volt shield

Okay so here's the thing, I use volt mainly for his shield and it's really good. I keep hearing people say it's so amazing because it gives beam weapons infinite reach and it removes fall off and makes projectiles fly faster. Checking the wikia I can only find double crit damage and added 50% electric damage with every shield you shoot through (former doesn't stack). But my problem is, it doesn't do any of this... It gives me less range on any beam weapons, slows the flight of projectiles for me, gives me no double crit damage and no added damage. I still have fall off and in all I've found it pretty much useless... Can someone tell me if it's a bug? Or if I was mislead? Maybe give me a shield build that ACTUALLY works because I keep hearing all these amazing things yet I can't find one good thing to this shield other than the fact I can make a house with it...

you basically can't modify Electric Shield with Mods, so if you really don't seem to see anything happening or it's downgrading what's supposed to be features - definitely something wrong.

I think i recall reading a patch note saying they removed the infinite range because apparently, it wasn't supposed to do that in the first place.
