Elemental Damage on factions

Question

Hi, after years of Warframe, I still don't know how the elementals damages work on factions:

For example: if my weapon have fire damage on it, we know it's effective against "infected" in general, but to have the +50% damage on Infested Flesh, or the +25% damage on Infested, the weapon must trigger the effect ? Or just shotting without status effect will be more effective ?

Elemental damage is always present.

If doing 100 ISP dmg + 100 fire (=200) and you hit Infested Flesh, you'll deal 250. 100 from ISP and 100 + 50% from fire.

Procs are something else entirely. Procs are effects and unless is a damaging one (like Igniting from Fire Proc, the damage is dealt as fire damage on the DoT) it won't take weaknesses into account. Like Corrosive, the proc doesn't deal damage, just removes 25% of the current armor. Yet, every time you deal damage, the corrosive damage will be there if you proc or not.

The rest of your post is right but your damage maths is only right if that weapon does 0 Slash.  Otherwise the Slash part of that ISP gets an extra 50% against Infested Flesh too.

You're right, was just keeping it simple to only go into the elemental damage.

Different enemies have different components that make up their health.  For example: Corpus crewmen have shields and flesh; Lancers have ferrite armor and cloned flesh.  Each damage type has different multipliers on different health types.  Example: corrosive damage does 1.75x damage to Grineer in ferrite armor, but only does 0.50x damage against proto-shields.

The bonus damage does not rely on proccing status.  It's passive.

You can find the specifics with all the positives and negatives of each damage type on this page in the "Overview Table".
