Were they an April Fools joke? I, personally, don't think so but have not seen any in game or spoken of in the forums.

Or are they just not added yet? I want one but been hoarding eggs for when the Kavats are added, without a dna sample it would be playing roulette for it.

April fools joke, though they did say a couple times they were considering selling Imprints for them, it was said in heavy tones of ALSO being a joke in itself.  They looked fun for about five minutes, admittedly, then you start seeing how NONE of the environments could accomodate the mega dogs.
