Key Loss for Failed Mission

So to keep it short, I just failed a T3S at the 76min mark because my controller died and I ended up losing my last 2 lives because of it. Last I heard about key loss in updates was in Update 13.7.0 Depths of the Void:

"To prevent exploits with all Void Keys, if you are hosting and abort an endless mission after the objective has been completed, you will lose your key."

Therefore, since I failed the mission (not abort) shouldn't I retain my key?

From Wiki:

Aborting, disconnecting, or otherwise failing a Void Mission will not consume the Key unless you already entered any "completion" state (i.e. 5 waves, 5 minutes). As with all mission varieties, all completion rewards, credits, blueprints, and materials are forfeit upon failing a Void Mission.

You played the mission and it was an error from your side not from DE or PSN. If you disconnected then maybe you can ask for your key back.
