Banshee is hard for new players given the squishiness, but once you've got your hands on a top tier mod collection the augmented sonar build means you make self-spreading large coloured spots that inflict 12x damage on enemies when you hit them. Which can overlap/stack and cause stupidly high damage numbers. Highly recommended if you can handle the squish, and a massive damage multiplication to your team (plus EV trins love the power trip when they can casually one-shot enemies with their EVs). Hell it lets you run around Heiracon/Void efficiently killing enemies with an unranked weapon or extinguished dragon key on just cause you can, or for helping new players experience more of the game before they get their damage mods up and running. The high Str with solid Dur and Range means you can also CC a large area with soundquake (4) in emergencies, and the mobile cringefield of silence can help allies quickly run past enemies when you want to extract.

Alternatively you can play around with a shorter range+duration build for the silence augment and do decent melee damage, but it's a lot more of a selfish build and less effective. Or the ability 1 can be augmented with a little power strength to strip the armour off enemies it hits, which can make it easier to deal with the harsh armour+hp scaling of Grineer, but there are better alternatives.

So yeah, Sonar Banshee is the one true Banshee personally.

Actually i'm MR 15 :( and got plenty full mods - primed too. But never used Banshee because for me i never think Banshee would fit my playstyle since i try it.

As far as i understanding for Sonar Build would be ok if i made:

+ Duration

+ Range

+/-  Strenght and Effiency ?

Yeah put in strength to increase the multipliers. Efficiency isn't as needed.

If you're into melee only or just want shiggles, I would recommend the savage silence build, just have narrow minded and max duration and you're set. Either take a fast melee weapon or one with a lot of range to max your damage; I've been the top killer on my squad more than a few times with a savage silence build, it takes a bit of finesse with your melee weapon.

Compared to most frames, using Banshee is mostly a change in playstyle. You can mod her for survivability as much as you want, but she's a biscuit no matter what you do. Life Strike and Quick thinking will only do so much.... Most Banshee players i know will try to squeeze in a QT if their build permits, i don't. I just pop off a silence and use LS.

This is my build (a bit out of date though):

warframe.x64_2016_02_i8spr.jpg

My other Banshee runs a Corrosive Projection aura - I don't have any pics of that one without booting up the game.

But, the pic above is the one i main. Partly because popping sonar bubbles is a fun little in-game minigame, and Rifle amp is good for every mission type outside end-game high armour missions.
Part of playing banshee however is knowing what you can, or can't do. This build is rubbish for the missions with physical damage resistance (if i recall the modifier correctly). That is why i have a second Banshee with CP. She gets used in those instances.

+ Range, + Strength, and then some mixture of Efficiency and Duration that fits your goals.
there's reasons for both high and low Duration, which makes deciding how much Duration you want to have tricky.

and then whatever Survivability you can make work. Sonic Boom and Silence are pretty much your sources of Survivability though.
i think Resonance is fun. but people make use of the Sonic Boom Augment as well as Silence Augment.

er - if you have Serration Equipped, the bonus you get from Rifle Amp is basically meaningless.
Steel Charge only gets a partial pass because of the much lower availability of base Damage Multipliers on Melee Weapons, so Steel Charge still makes a useful difference - but only one Steel Charge does so.

For future reference, you mind elaborating? I'm not a min/maxer so i don't read the various formulae for skills. I just pick it up as i go.

However, I dislike Forma'ing things so still consider the gain worthwhile. CP (for example) is only useful when fighting armour, whereas i can just have this there and not care about it..... As i said above, i went with a second Banshee instead of fretting over mod space and specialised loadouts (you can expect DE to eventually muck up the highly specific polarity slots some people run). But, levelling a whole new frame isn't exactly fun either so :/

General build:

Energy Siphon, Power Drift

Fleeting Expertise, Primed Continuity, Intensify, Resonance, Sonic Fracture

Quick Thinking, Primed Flow, Vitality

Keep up Silence and Sonar, shoot things in the glowy place. Bring a Lifestrike melee or Purity Furis.

Stupid crazy melee build:

Energy Siphon, Handspring

Fleeting Expertise, Narrow Minded R7, Resonance, Savage Silence

Quick Thinking, Primed Flow, Vitality, Reflex Guard R4

Keep up Silence, cast Sonar (in midair) when near a crowd around teammates, kill 1-2 things with melee Finishers, then dash away into a different group of enemies. Keep on the move constantly. Use Lifestrike on Finisher to restore health.

TL;DR all purpose build:  keep range at 100%, high efficiency, duration over 50%, power str up to you.

keep range at 100% for silence to keep you alive while moving.

power str is luxury. however much you want.

high efficiency is preferred

duration can be under 100% if you have efficiency high.

vitality // rage // transient fortitude // intensify

primed cont // maxed fleeting // resonance // savage silence

* rage + lifestrike + high block damage reduction%

the main thing you'll want to figure out as a new banshee player is how to use silence stun as survivability.  The most important thing is to keep range low enough to be able to get the stun at a range that is useful, rather than far away, around a corner, in another room.  silence provides a stun zone that can stun enemies many times : once each time they enter the zone, or on cast.

*you can add more range for sonar if you are running a team comp that can cover your survivability, or you are going to be blocking with a high % weapon
