Archwing: How do you revive another player?

I'm not happy with the state of the Archwing game type. But let's not rant.

I cannot figure out how to revive anyone. Normally, you stand next to a fallen player and hold the CTRL (Use) key. I've been told to press the Use key and "you should latch on." Now, I've given up all hope of ever successfully stopping near a fallen player. When I try, I just drift past them, losing my bearings, and losing sight of the other player. And I usually get shot dead as soon as I stop moving, anyway. Nonetheless, pressing the CTRL or Use key does not initiate a revive or help me "latch onto" a fallen player. When I press CTRL, my little wings lift up—and that's it.

I know it can be done, because I've seen other players do it. As an aside, reviving during Archwing missions seems to take much longer than it does in a normal game.

So what's the trick to reviving a fallen squad mate during an Archwing mission?

Move towards the fallen player. Before you actually get to them, hold your use key. Once you zoom through them, you'll begin reviving.

So you actually have to hit them, not just get next to them? Talk about a needle in a haystack.

I try use short bursts of boosting and let Zero G guide me the rest of the way, when nearing I hold aim to slow myself or to stop and/or as psychedelic said I hold the revive button if I overshoot hoping it triggered the prompt

Just hold the Interact key and keep holding it as you approach them. It should kick in reviving when you get close enough, IIRC (haven't played AW in a while).

Line them up in your cross hairs and head towards them.  Before you get too close holddown your interact key, and you will stop and revive when you get into range.
