Need Help With Charm

I recently got the Smeeta kavat, I was very excited about it, since it's very very cute and I really wanted a smeeta, because I hear that it's charm ability is pretty useful, especially for resource and void traces collecting 

But I don't think I know how it works, there's the double resource and XP charm and there's the rare resource charm, which one gives insane number of rare resources and VTs? I can really use any info you guys have on this. am I suppose to wait until the kavat uses charm before I finish the fissure or pickup a resource so it can get doubled?

i did my smeeta 6 forma charm is pretty random its happens u get twice in row.. crit.. or insta reload...than i try it on jupiter survival 20 minuts i got 37 neural sensors....its worth it really

I don't know how the double resources buff is supposed to interact with Void traces now. The way they changed fissures is that when you collect ten reactant your relic will open and give you the traces. I would guess you would need to have the double resources buff up then to test it.
