ZeroOmar00
can you please add a way to disable the 3D graphics in the launcher ? the launcher stresses the GPU and the temps reach 90 C downloading updates takes up to 12 hours on my slow ISP. I can't leave my PC downloading for 12+ hours while it's that hot. please consider a way to turn it off or a lite version of the launcher or let steam handle the updates. Cydro_
What're your specs? There's something wrong if the launcher graphics are heating your PC to that extent
ZeroOmar00
CPU: Intel core i7 3612QM GPU: AMD radeon hd 7670m ram: 8 GB OS: win 10 as you can tell from the specs it's a laptop so it heats up more than a PC with better cooling Gaming temp. ranges from 80-90 C and the launcher gives me the same temps normal use without gaming 50-60 C Edited August 20, 2016 by ZeroOmar00 typo
-N7-Leonhart
Go to the Launcher settings and disable "Launcher GPU Acceleration". Not sure how well it works, but it's worth trying. If that doesn't work, you can use another trick. Try launching the game on the Integrated graphic card while it updates, then close and launch on the Dedicated one. The integrated GC doesn't consume much power so it will never get to very high temp.
Chesty_Puller
question needs asking--Are you oc'd and if so at what freq.? You may need to lower your speed if you are getting that hot or revisit your cooling method.
Rubat
Clean your laptop of dust in the cooler. You need to do that roughly every year to prevent it from overheating in games. And as already mentioned, try switching off GPU acceleration for the launcher, as well as try to switch it from dedicated GPU to integrated GPU if you have one.
