Valkyr + Lens?

So I've read all over the place you don't get focus from valkyr's ult. Most of those posts are rather old and several mention it was just a "bug."  

So was it intentially designed to not work or was it a bug?

if it was a bug is it still fixed?

I've had my lens for over a week and haven't put it on anything because I'm too scared I'm going to make it useless.

Actually you do, I use Primal fury and while in ultimate, it does count towards gaining focus points.

my guess is they meant,  any weapons you have lens on, will not gain affinity/focus (except for normal gains from leeching off other players).

if you are using a frame ability, in this case hysteria, to kill mobs, then 100% of the affinity gained goes to the frame, if frame is lvl 30 then it all goes towards the lens

it is the same system used before we had the focus schools. just now with a lens the affinity doesn't really go to waste.
