How is maimum ammo calculated?

So I just got a riven mod for zarr with negative ammo capacity of -2.5% at rank 0 but when I equip it I still have 3 rounds

At what % margin will it reduce it to 2 max ammo?

if it's 3 it should probably be more than 33.3% negation (or less than -33.3%) to reduce it to 2

edit: just my theory...and some strange logic...

So it has to go over the full number % ?

the game will round to the nearest number for things of this type, so -17% (technically ~-16.8%) should be about the point where it will round down to 2 Shots as that would be 2.49 Shots.

I dont understand what you mean :P
As I sad it's just a theory but if you have max ammo of 3 and try to reduce it to 2 you would have to reduce 1/3 of it meaning more than 33.3%
If a weapon had max ammo of 2 you would have to slice it in half with more than 50% to get it to 1

but that's just my logical conclusion... warframe sometimes doesnt like logic

If it's ammo capacity and not magazine capacity, it affects your reserve ammo and not what you can have in magazine.

I just realized the mod says "Ammo Maximum" is that referring to the magazine or the total ammo? Since there isn't a total ammo number.

It's total ammo, which you can't see in arsenal.

well then it reduces maximum ammo you an have with you in a mission... it wont affect how manny rounds you can have loaded

in other words reversed ammo drum

Okay, shameless Deadpool reference aside, your Ammo Maximum is your ammunition pool of reserve ammunition.  Thus @Error989 is correct.

ah, if it's Ammo Pool, then this Riven will reduce your Ammo Pool from 84 to 65 once Ranked up.

not... too big of a deal. you can probably manage with the lower Pool.
