How do Formas work

How do Formas work? I don't understand the polarization system at all.

1. Level item to rank 30

2. Use forma and add polarity to slot of your choice. It will reset item rank back to zero.

3. Mods that have the same polarity as slot, will halve the mod points the mod occupy (for example, Constitution need 13 points, after placing in -- slot, it will take just 7)

4. Fit the mods you werent able before

5. ????

6. Profit!

If any kind of equipment (weapon, frame, companion, archwing etc.) is at max rank, with a forma you can add, change or remove a polarity (which makes equipped mods of the same polarity cost half of their initial cost). "Forma'ing" something takes it back to rank 0, so you have to level it up again. That's all there is to it really, it's just so you can equip more/better/more expensive mods on stuff.

There's no limit to how many forma you can use on something, of course though, the number of mod slots is limited so there really is no need to use more than 6 or 7 (depending on what you used forma on, frames don't really need that many cause of aura mods).
