" a room or hall in which judo and other martial arts are practised" - Google

Other than improving duels, improving Dojo's should also improve you

You should train in Dojos. This can be done via:

-Gaining XP in Duels and in obstacle courses (even beating other peoples times should give additional XP)

-Add dummies and archery practice. Using them will increase XP

-Doing emotes with other clanmates will give you affinity/XP

-A system where you can learn stances. I don't know how, but some sort of system where you can learn a stance.

All the XP bonus should be reasonable and not spammable but still enough to encourage for Dojo's and Clans to be cool.

DC universe online has a pretty good system for this. They have two separate trees of XP regarding bases.

Firstly, the player's personal base. Secondly, the group's league hall.

One can spend credits refueling a player base generator about once a week, which allows access to slots that can be filled with discovered stat modifiers as well as base=provided specialty items that would summon friendly AI, cause AOE damage or drop supplies.

The XP for the league hall is called prestige. A league working together to amass prestige has the option to change various elements of their group base, such as decorative location as well as number of group storage slots.

In this way, using the bases benefits the payer and also the group the player is part of. For more information on this see http://dcuniverseonline.wikia.com/wiki/Prestige

DCUO is a really good game with a wealth of awesome concepts that I wish would be applied to other games more often. Sadly it does suffer from balancing issues, toxic community, money grabbing tactics and lackluster updates. But a good game none the less, especially if you're new to it.

Also, if you give a quick search regarding dojo suggestions, you'll see extensive lists people have come up with. You're not alone in your way of thinking. More can certainly be done with bases. A frequent suggestion has been the freedom to create clan objectives and personalized obstacle courses.
