"No. I haven't exactly had much time to explore. My landing wasn't exactly graceful." Efahz explained. He had placed his datapad back in a pocket. "Scavengers have probably picked over the wreckage already. And with the heavier Grineer presence in the area around Mars, I'm stuck here."

"Fair enough. So you crashed, eh? Anyone else from your group survive?" He dug up what appeared to be a mechanic's jumpsuit and held it out towards Efahz. "Try this, see if it fits over what you've got on. Should keep you from turning into a piece of sunburned bacon for a while, at least."

"Thanks. I never expected a Tenno to save my life."

"You're welcome," Leveret said simply, "Don't make me regret it."

He set to work piling everything back in place. "I still don't know what you're running from and/or to, by the way. I don't suppose you want to tell me?"

Out on the outskirts, Aria fires off a ripline straight up into the dusky skies, like a frog catching a flie in midair. Though seemingly flying at nothing, the void whip catches onto *something*, as the line snaps and reels back in tautly. Giving it a quick tug, the cat backpack begins to haul her willing(?) load up into the air. As the duo start to rise, the second cloaked mass jumps onto the Valkyr's head, a smooth mat of gold and yellow fur of a kubrow coming into view.

The roar of twin engines cuts through the silence, as a landing craft pulls the pair towards the outer limits of the settlements`work areas, arriving before the sun finally sets over the horizon.

It's safer that I don't tell you.

"Listen. They currently think I'm dead. I want to keep it that way." Efahz responded, taking another swig of water. He was looking  down at the floor, clearly exhausted.

Up in the skies, the radio fizzes and sputters in response as the pair swing like a speeding pendulum before Aria launches them forward, up, and back into a black and red Scimitar`s hanger.

The Nyx P shakes her head furiously as the hanger doors close, like trying to shake water out of their ears(?). Gently yet firmly, the Valkyr P pats Mia on the head, with the other hand grabbing Mia's right hand affectionately. Sparks and tendrils of white void flare up from the contact before quickly dying down. Finally, the radio silence reappears, though this time intentionally as Aria sprawls herself on the cold metal floor.

[...go ahead...] breaks through the airwaves, short and to the point as usual.

"Oh, so now we're playing the pronoun game. Nice. Who is still a mystery, but that's fair enough. And it's a 'from', I know that much."

He watched Efahz. "How long were you out there, anyway?"

"I've only been in the desert for a week." Efahz responded. "I've spent the past two weeks completely isolated, though. I only had a week of rations and I had to survive two weeks."

((Heheh, guilty as charged))

"So you ran out of rations and headed out?" Leveret nodded. "Good thing you found this place. You'd be one crispy critter out there otherwise."

Mia frowns underneath her helmet. Tracking down the Inquisition's movements is key, but not going in at full capacity is just asking to get trounced.

[...we'll be right there...] the short text flashes on the cephalon's side. Quick as a can be, a set of engines roar in the skies as two cloaked crafts veer off towards the other settlement, arriving at the outskirts in a matter of minutes.

(belated, but isn't it just a one letter change as far as the ceph's name is concerned? It's not *that* big a retcon :x)

Bojaun looked up at the spot that caught the  Constable's eye. "Sh!t..." he said as he walked inside one of the buildings. He did his best to keep his blood from spilling over the sands.

Svytoj's mantis wasn't too far behind, obviously being commandeered by Ambassa. It kept low, just under the radar.

"Yeah... I saw it while I was 'landing'. I figured I'd survive if I made a beeline for this place. It took me a few days, but I'm alive, I guess." He explained. "I landed about 50 kilometers from here.

Hopefully he doesn't put two and two together and realize that it would take me much less than a few day to get that far.

"Did you now?" Leveret responded, "Shame I wasn't with you, could have shown you three shortcuts and a scenic route that would have taken less time than that." He said it in a friendly way, but there was a hint of suspicion to his tone. If Leveret's eyes were more visible, one could swear he was squinting. He's talking pretty coherently, so I doubt he's concussed. Something doesn't add up here...

"I... uh... I had no sense of direction. It took me a while to find which way was north and whatnot." He said, with a noticeable delay in his response. "I'm just amazed I got out of that crash mostly unscathed. A few bruises here and there, but still."

"Mhm." Leveret nodded. "How's your leg doing, by the way?"

He was doing a remarkable job of conveying a fair amount of disbelief though just body language.

Oh, for the love of Gaben... He doesn't believe me. Maybe I should play it dumb until I can get off this ship.

"It's not doing great, but I can put weight on it. It was mostly exhaustion." He responded. "Actually, do you known if there are any places I can stay for a while? I should have enough credits to cover myself for a while, and I don't want to get in your way."

Welp, he slid out of that one pretty well. Leveret let out a misty sigh. "Yeah, there are some inns in town. But if this comes back to bite me, I have three kubrows that'll hunt you down. So, you know, watch your step and all that." As if punctuating his sentence, Kbeel barked from where she sat nearby.

"That's enough of that, then. Best you be on your way."

"Wonderful. I wonder if everyone in town is this nice." He responded. And with that, he left, his limp still present.

(How should I go about getting a room? Do I wait for Bowie, or should I just skip that and say I get a room at an inn?)

[...eyes and ears will be good enough. cover as broad and as detailed a range as you can. If there are any hidden surprises or guests there or on enroute, warn as fast as possible...]

With that, Aria's black and red painted Scimitar's hanger doors silently open once again, the first stars starting to twinkle into being overhead. With a running start, the pair of ninjas take a running start before leaping out into the space beyond, skydiving face first towards the nearest available cover overlooking the Frost.

Efahz was wandering around the settlement, looking for somewhere to stay for a while, or until he got his bearings. He had enough credits to last himself for a while, and he had a couple solar panels in case his datapad needed charging. Now all that was left was finding somewhere for shelter.

(bit of C&P, but I think it still applies)

As night approaches the settlement, the trudging and stomping of feet and creaking wheels can be heard in distance. The salvagers and scavengers have finally begun to trickle back from their dig sights, eager to return after a hard day's work, but also warily watching for anyone who might want to take their hard-earned earnings. They moved in a group, for safety in numbers. All of them had some kind of weapon on them, and more than a few hands rested on the handles of pistols.

At this time of day, most of the shops and buildings had closed down, except for the bars - which had each drawn in as large a crowd as the norm. Seeing that the coast was clear, the crews broke apart, carrying their finds to small buildings made of metal removed from nearby ships. Bleary-eyed guards stood watch over the buildings, to discourage anyone from trying to steal the valuable salvage. Their work done, the crews happily walked over to the bars of their choice, chatting quietly with each other. A few headed towards the canyon walls, away from the two main watering holes, presumably preferring something a little more quiet for their evening relaxation. Scraped on various driftwood or metal, the stragglers passed by small innocuous signs, with nothing more on them than a drawing of a lily and an arrow sign.

The dug out sleeping quarters in the canyon is little more than a hole in the ground. Cots are strewn about haphazardly wtih an occasional metal footlocker lying at the foot of the strewn used mattresses: locked of course, or even booby-trapped depending on how paranoid the salvager is. Unlit gas lanterns dots the ceiling, and a very deep hope in the back of the corner is the only source for relieving one self.

Efahz looked around cautiously, trying to find somewhere vacant. His weapons were holstered, but his hand always stayed near his Lecta in case he needed to defend himself. He only had a bit of practice with the weapon, but he was confident in his abilities to wield it against these people.

He knew his tattered Crewman's uniform would draw attention, but he had his fingers crossed that no one would try to act aggressive toward him. Efahz could only hope at this point.

None of the salvagers stopped to check on the lone crewman as they made their way through the small settlement, though they certainly gave him a wary eye and kept their distance as they walked past him. An unspoken rule in Deadwood is "don't start trouble, don't get trouble". So long as Efahz doesn't actively start something against someone outside of self defence, the populace are willing to leave him to his own devices. Out here, uniforms and factions and syndicates aren't worth a darn. Bullets and alcohol don't discriminate after all. All that matters is making their fortunes at the wrecks during the day and surviving to the next one.
