Single Target Ability Damage Inconsistency

I don't really understand why there is such a disparity between the damage on Single target nukes, and AOE room clearer, when both cost 25 energy.

 

Shouldn't single target ability's do more damage to balance the fact they only hit 1 target?

 

 

Excalibur's 1 does 500 damage, since he can aoe and hit 10 targets, that's 25 energy for 5000 damage

Rhino's 1 does 650 damage, again on 10 targets that's 6500 damage

Vauban's 1 does 2000 damage over the full duration

Saryn's 1 does 480 damage, again it can be spread, say to 10 targets for 4800 damage

Ash's 1 does 1000 damage

Nova does 1200 over 6 orbs, tho admittedly weak because of the delay and you can't spam it like tesla/ everyone else

 

Nyx's 1 could mind control a level 99 commando and arguably get 4000 damage

banshee/mag/loki gets a crowd control

Trinity gets shafted

 

 

 

but why do the "caster nuke frames" with single target nukes get such poor numbers?

 

Volt get 200 damage Electric? this is hardly usable?, why can't it be 500? i understand it now chains but its limited to 5, its still below Slash dash/Rhino charge because it can't hit limitless aoe.

Ember only gets 470 fire, and half of that is a 7 second dot, with a really poor delivery system, single target!

 

 

 

Would it be possible to increase the damage?

 

Null star up to 300

Shock up to 400

Fireball up to 800

 

And Nyx psychic bolts up from 750 to... at least 1250, since they are a 50 energy ability?
