why not add back solar rails and they will give you clan affinity on each successful attack or conflict

This won't solve the problem of clans throwing a million credits, paying one merc as the rest fiht for nothing.  It also won't solve the fact we're playing tag with nukes strapped to our hands, nor will it solve the whole durability issue.

While it wouldn't do the trick of having a clan related conclave fight, perhaps it might work having enemy faction mini-events challenging the existence of the clan/alliance relays with stuff like the Balor Formorians or Razorback Armada threatening to destroy the clan's work rather than Tenno fight Tenno with underhanded dealings like happened with the old conflicts. Perhaps Teshin could try to take on the larger sized pvp aspect and have clans compete for prestige that way.
