Should staff use ideas from fan concepts

That seems to be their current ""fix"" to the "fan dilemma".

Without a way to talk to us, they ask for our best work instead and, through that, they show they still bother with us. It's one of the things i'm thankful for here on the forums, that the company might be overwhelmed, yet they haven't thrown up their hands and isolated themselves away from the masses.

 

Its not perfect, but it isn't just some simple bone thrown in either.

fan stuff does make into the game, simply look at Silva & Aegis and Mios. fan designs that are well thought out, easy enough to implement and are desirable by a wide portion of the community are the ones most likely to make it in. Tennogen satisfies most of these needs though, and at this point there isn't a lot we don't already have in the game weapons-wise. we did have that "Best Defence.." melee competition though, and the winners from that will (eventually) have their designs put in-game.

bear in mind though, in order to keep content within their own artistic vision, DE sometimes make changes or ask Tennogen creators to change certain things on skins and weapons.  some of the things in the game are actually subtle references if you look hard enough too, like the Blind Justice Nikana Stance; a reference to Zatoichi, the Blind Swordsman who fights using a reverse grip technique.

we all have different ideas, and DE has the immensely difficult challenge of condensing it down into something that suits most people's tastes. that's not an easy thing to do for anyone.
