[Request] Clan emblem

I have recently decided to change the name and theme of my clan. I am looking to change the clan emblem to something of a raider/pirate theme with purple or violet being the main colour. I was wondering if I could get some assistance on finding a good free editor tool for doing this. I am not photoshop savvy and not an artist. So something simple and easy to use would be best for me. I have tried to Google the topic but have found suggestions such as using Inkscape, which I attempted and failed horribly. Thanks.

Try using GIMP. It is a free image editor with lots of options. Try experimenting at the start, to see what each tool does.
