Wilco nods and puts them away, hooking them to his waist. He then unclips his AkStilettos, and holds them out in front of him.

“Listen.” Striker says. “Hear that?”

You hear... nothing.

No gunfire, no Grineer laughter. Not even the sound of wind on rocks.

Then it happens. A low haunting note echoes out, barely audible. It is like no sound you have ever heard.

A few steps later you come upon another Ghoul corpse. This one has two blackened marks on its chest, the flesh around rag looks to have been boiled away.

”Plasma weaponry.” Striker says. “Odd. Ostron don’t normally use energy weapons.”

"It would seem so... But who would use plasma weaponry? Miner tools?" He seemed really nervous now, his hands slightly shaking.

You hear another drawn out haunting note play out from the cave depths.

“Miner tools are too focused.” Striker says, moving forwards. “They’d leave a small clean hole, no larger than an acrid needle. These were Plasma bolts. Corpus maybe?”

The ones at the front try some some and soon a chorus of “excuse me” and “oops” rings out as the Ostron engage in the most polite feeding frenzy you have ever seen, sliding past each other to get to the bowl and uttering apologies whenever they jostle eachother.

Krunk simply chuckled and felt impressive that the people didn't go that wild on the fries. Regardless, he had one thing to do before the "main course" was done, making the sauce which shouldn't take long.

The hunter looks at the board.

“Hmm.” He says. “Could be anywhere. Last time I was out hunting I saw them by Hek’s Stilleto. Of course that was a few days ago. Hey, you Tenno are good with tech right? You should hack one of their spy drones, that would help you finds whoever you’re after.”

A casual wave of hand from the distancing frame, a command issued to the ship AI to return the scan of the surface with the marked observer drone visual IDs, and a stand-by mode for deploying an itzal.

The fries are quickly depleted. Several of the Ostron seem to grow restless with hunger.

The Ostron cooking the strips of meat begin to hand out the smaller ones as snacks.

Krunk was done with the sauce and it couldn't be better timed as he had a feeling that they were pretty eager to eat the main course.

He grabbed a plate, put some of the meat on it along with some mash potato and with the sauce on the side. He did so for several plates.

"People of the village, come and get your fresh food here while it's hot" he shouted so those who wanted food could hear him. He continued to put out more plates as he had a feeling that the food would be very popular very quickly.

“You not a fan of dark places?” Striker asks.

He carries himself like a soldier, and his stance is unreadable.

The scan reveals several downed drones. They seem primitive, as with most Grineer tech, compared to your systems. It is likely they ship could easily link to their systems if you could get access.

The closest downed drone is near to the gate, by a strange rock formation resembling two spines facing towards the sky.

"It's more the noise and worry about what we're up against then the dark that scares me..." He says, breathing slowly and calmly.

The Ostron begin to claim the plates, tossing little gold ovals into a bowl by your cooking station.

Halfway through the meal you spot Kal heaiding back toward his ship, his Rhino’s armor dented and torn. He seems out of breath.

“I have a few theories.” Striker says, moving deeper into the cave. “But I’d like to confirm them first. Keep an eye out for any strange lights, anything that looks like a blue lantern with a face.”

You step out onto a thin walkway in a massive cavern. The walls fall away to nothingness.

About twenty feet below and to the right you can see something shining. It looks like an Ostron lamp. It is on another, wider ledge.

Only surveillance drones would be placed that close to the settlement, not the inner communication ones. But ivara decided to deploy itzal and fly to the closest point anyway. Seems like someone's in the mood for a "stroll", if that can be applied to jetpack tourism

After a humorous but short incident showing why one should not use a jet pack inside a protective dome shield you find the  location of the door to the plains and pass through it.

As your ship delivers the Itzal you are able to take in the sceneary outside the gate, which involves vast amounts of dead bodies and spent ammunition.

A squad of Tenno and a set of automated Grineer fortifications defend the gate from swarms of clones unlike any you have seen before. They appear malformed and diseased, and are wrapped in the remains of what appear to be bodybags. Some are thinks fn wield flame spewing drills. Others are big and fat and have a set of hooked claws. Clouds of paralytic gas hang in thick clouds around the corpses, limiting the available area.

Despite this the Tenno seem to be holding the swarms back, for now.

Your itzal lands are you are able to take off.

From above you can see the Grineer massing for another push at the gate, more deformed clones among their ranks. You can also see several areas that look like upturned graves, the holes just large enough for the various deformed Grineer.

The sun is dipping towards the horizon.

The drone is located not far from the gate, in the middle of a strange metallic/stone formation. You cannot see any of the clones nearby, yet.

Krunk wondered what the gold ovals was as he picked one up and look at it. Maybe it's their currency in their village.

He then saw Kal, waving to him.

"You're free to come and eat here, there's plenty of food here" he shouted to Kal as he put down the gold oval and resumed to bring out portions to the "hungry" people.

Prowl, approach the sentient bones, plug so the ship AI can read the logs while climbing atop of the dead sentient's tusk to control the area.

From the light it gives off you are able to make out the body of an Ostron miner next to the lantern.

There is a rope tied to a hook embeddded in the strange material that makes up the ledge you are on. The rope leads down to the ledge with the dead Ostron.

((Fixed the format for you.))

On closer inspection the material of the formation appears to be foreign to the environment. Nothing grows on it, not even moss, and it seems almost metallic.

You hear a “clunk... clunk” and see one of the deformed drill clones climbing up the side towards you.

Kal shakes his head.

“Just here to check comms.” He says. “Call for reinforcements.”

She fires a sleep arrow to it's head and gets out of the formation to another cover. It would be curious to see what does this thing has to do with the object after it awakens (( @Rakawan))
