Panthera punch through

Hi all, when i equip the Shred mod on my Panthera the punch through doesn't seem to work, as the blades fired by the weapon don't go through enemy lines at all. This happens despite the fact that the Panthera stats screen clearly states a punch through of 1m , when Shred is equipped, for both primary and secondary fire modes. However it only seems to apply to the secondary attack but not the primary one.
