Teljaxx Posted June 1, 2018 Share Posted June 1, 2018 Instead of simply removing the keys, this could actually be a perfect opportunity to revamp the Derelict overall. Either way, Derelict keys really are pointless at this point, having become nothing more than a completely inconsequential resource sink for anyone but the absolute newest players. So, if for nothing more than simplicity's sake, the game would be better off without them. This would also make farming mutagen samples a bit less of a pain, as well as allowing the removal of nav coordinates, so they could stop clogging up so many drop tables, which would be nice. Though, at this point, the Derelicts are old enough that they could definitely use some general maintenance to bring them more in line with the rest of the game anyway, so why not add some more upgrades as well? Like adding a new quest that introduces more lore about the Derelicts and Infested, and rewards a permanent Derelict access item (key, nav segment, infested space muffin, etc.) at the end. They could also potentially split the Derelict into multiple sections with multiple level ranges, similar to the Void, to give it a bit more variety and accessibility. If they did, they could even add a new boss at the end of each section as well. A new easy and medium level boss on the low and mid level paths, and Lephantis on the hard, high level path. They should each drop one of Nekros' blueprints, so you have to fight all three to build him. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I think it's time for them to go. edit: I am talking about DERELICT keys, which you use to enter derelict missions. Not DRAGON keys, which you use to open vaults. Definitely, especially with how overloaded on big projects DE is currently, with The Sacrifice, Melee 3.0, the Venus Plains, and all that still on the way.
