Ability To Melee / Roll Disappears Regularly

Mid-way through a mission I'll notice I wont be able to dodge (roll) or swing my melee weapon (quick attack OR wielded) and the only way I can fix it is by dying and using a revive. Are many other people having this issue? It has happened to me in the last 5-6 missions I've played.

this bug has existed since 2013. why is this still a thing.

i came back after a year away, and im experiencing this bug as we speak, gotta finish the mission with gun only.

lol. functionality bug that literally keeps you from using a primary game feature... not fixed 2 years later. *shrug*

It inconsistently happened after getting knocked down... I only managed to reproduce it once in Simulacrum, could be performance related (when several enemies around).

Had it 3 times (with Bombard's rocket, Scorpion's grapple and Shockwave Moa's ring) so far, while having Simaris' Scanner equipped and I use Hand Spring all the time. Anyone else has more clue?

Yea I used to run into this bug a few updates ago but it just stopped (last time I ran into it I think it was during the all heavy melee tactical alert) and I didn't encounter it again until recently. Personally I can't constantly recreate it.

All I know is this might happen after you try dodge rolling a few times. You can still do everythign else normally but you just can't melee or dodge. Rebinding the keys doesn't help but the bug is always gone after completing the mission and it can just as easily reoccur the next mission you take.

Edit: Experimented in the Simulacrum and semi-managed to rereate the problem once with Bombards and again with Shockwave Moas. The bug trigged once I got up from a blash proc after rolling and again after getting up from a Shockwave ring while landing from a aim glide. Still really hard to re-reate since landing time is the key.

Edit: Yes I'm editing this again, just simply rolling round enough times is enough to trigger the glitch. Not sure if it's linked but glitch occurs during almost every void mission I ran the last few days since U17.

Since the hotfix I've had this bug in at least 9/10 missions.

It seems to happen whenever I do quick repetitive rolls or am interrupted during a roll (e.g. by a scorpion).

[...] and the only way I can fix it is by dying and using a revive.[...]

The only other fix I found is this: during a sharkwing mission jump into the water, attack with your sharkwing melee once and jump back out again.

Omg.. i tried that but when i jumped out i was still in my Archwing XD i was literally flying around in Tyl Regors... uh Base? Research Facility? whatever it is.. i was flying around in it with my ArchWing

I've had it happen a few times yesterday. I tried to get knocked down to see if I could fix it, but grineer heavy slams weren't knocking me down but that might have been due to reflex guard every time. In the past when this would happen to me I used to be able to get melee back by trying to spam roll + jump slam until it activated but that doesn't work anymore.

**Happened again this time without Reflex Guard equipped during Mimas Survival. I was in melee stance and using rapid mobility/melee combos heavily before I found myself locked out. Was able to get knocked down by shield lancers but still wasn't able to melee afterwards. Also got downed and revived by a teammate and still wasn't able to melee.

Happened to me twice while trying to melee Tyl Regor in Solo Mode. Might it be a blocking bug?

EDIT: Somehow managed to reproduce it a bit by blocking Regor's melee attacks with Prisma Skana when he was using his Ack and Brunt. Animation for blocking knockdowns played, and I was unable to melee or roll after the animation played. For some reason, was able to melee again after a while, though I don't know how or why.

The testing team at DE seems to be unable to find a severe bug that triggers on almost every mission, like they are so skilled at avoiding noticing so obvious bug, right?

Maybe the event system of the engine is stalling while waiting for an already processed message. Maybe is the input layer which is failing for being used in the wrong mode. Maybe it's a memory leak... if the testing team doesn't know how to test a game, who knows if the development team actually knows how to develop it?

You seem too frustrated and ungrateful for this kind of issue. Throwing a random common phrases about memory leaks and input layers is not going to help this issue, there is no useful information in your post.

Just saying, spreading your hate around successful projects while trying to use too much of a technical language with no actual purpose makes you look like a failure developer, not like a specialist.
