  1. So I figured out why

the same way you do it in any game worth playing, ever.

go to the Controls Menu, edit your Keybinds, and assign them to buttons that make sense for you.

In order to bind secondary fire, I literally have to take off another ability. Either I can't use focus, can't jump, can't reload and interact with the objectives, ect. So whenever I go fishing, I have to manually change my control settings, and when I'm done, I have to manually change my control settings back again.

They seriously need to add button overlap. Why can't X be secondary fire as well as reload and objective interaction?

  2. TL:DR

    1.) Increase Riven mod capacity

2.) Add an item with Baro Ki'Teer that greatly increase the chance or guarantees a Riven mod from a Sortie (consumed on Sortie completion, decently high Ducat and credit costs).

3.) Add the ability to lock a Riven stat every 5 re-rolls. Lock a stat you like, re-roll to keep that stat and change the other stats you don't like. Unlock an additional stat lock every 5 re-rolls Reduces RNG to a manageable level.

4.) Add an "Weapon Exilus slot" to Riven's. Each weapon will have its own special ability that can be rolled. Example Gorgon ability "Headshots add 2 additional rounds to the Gorgon clip". Add general weapon abilities and utilities to increase variety and make it more interesting than just stat increases. Example, "Critical hits grants a 10% chance of Vacuuming all loot within a 15-20 meter radius to the Operator".

5.)Legendary Cores can be used to re-roll locked Riven stats. If the re-roll results in negative stat changes, that stat will remain the same. If the re-roll results in a positive increase, the stat will change. The core re-rolls all locked stats. A perfect and fully locked Riven can only result in the same or better for all stats with a Legendary Core. If a Legendary Core is just too high of a requirement, can do it with like 50k or 100k Kuva.

  3. Hello there fellow Tenno,

Riven mods are a really good idea on paper, but the way Riven mods were implemented into the game has not achieved the desired effect. The concept for Riven mods was that they were supposed to breath new life into existing weapons that aren't "meta". The reality is that people will not mess with Riven mods, unless they are really good mods, or are on mainstream weapons.

I have attributed this problem to four causes:

Cause 1.) Riven mods are restrictive. You only can hold 15 of them.

Cause 2.) Riven mods require a lot of time to get, unlock, and re-roll. From the perspective of a new player, you have to go through a huge chunk of the games content before you are eligible to start getting Riven's. Once you have your Riven, you have to complete a challenge to unlock it. Then once it's unlocked, you need to grind Kuva to re-roll it. Then you need to farm even more Kuva, and the cycle continues until you get lucky, or burn out. Then you have to grind Sorties every single day, just for a chance at a new Riven mod. The time investment compared to the reward is just not in a good sync.

Cause 3.)  The RNG is really bad. Rough calculations of getting the perfect stats for your preferred weapon is up there with the chances of winning a mega lottery. Think about it this way - You go to the gas station to buy lottery tickets for the mega jackpot of 500 million. You are only allowed to buy 5 dollars worth of tickets, but you have to pay for each ticket individually, and each time you buy one, the next ticket becomes longer and harder to buy. Once you have all 5 tickets, you try to roll for the mega millions jackpot, and you end up winning 3 dollars. You spent a lot of time and energy, to lose money. While there is one lucky individual out there who got the jackpot, or in other words, a god tier Soma Riven.

Cause 4.) The stats are really predictable and baseline. This means that without even testing the weapon, you'll know whether or not the Riven is good or bad, especially if its on something not mainstream, like the Flux Rifle.

So now that I have my suspected causes out of the way, here comes my solution:

Solution to Cause 1.) Remove the Riven mod capacity, or have each mastery rank give 1 or 2 additional mod capacity. The point of Riven mods is to experiment and have variety. Only having 15 makes it so I feel the need to burn inferior Riven's in order to free space up for potentially better Riven's.

Solution to Cause 2.)Riven mods are an uncommon drop in Sorties, but you can only do them once per day. Meaning, you can go 15+ days without a Riven mod reward. Baro should sell an item, like the Stalker, Zanuka and G3 items, that greatly increase or guarantees the chance of a Riven mod from completing a Sortie. Have the Ducat and credit costs be really high or something. But make it so that players can mitigate the RNG to some degree. If someone is 15-30 days dry on a Riven mod reward, they aren't using the Riven system. The whole point of this system was to increase weapon variety use. Making it hard to do this defeats the purpose of stimulating variety.

Solution to Cause 3.) This is probably the biggest suggestion here, and my personal favorite of everything I have suggested in this thread. Ready for it? Here we go. Every 5 times you re-roll a Riven mod, the riven mod gains the ability to lock a stat in that will stay through the re-roll. You can lock the weapon as well. You re-gain this ability every 5 re-rolls, meaning you can totally lock a Riven mod by the 20th re-roll. You can unlock these stats if you would like to re-roll them, but you'll have to re-roll them 5 times again in order to gain that ability. Locking a stat doesn't have to happen on the 5th re-roll. For example, lets say you re-roll 5 times and unlock your stat lock, but you don't like any of the stats. You re-roll again, and say on your 6th re-roll, you like the critical chance. You can use that lock from the 5th re-roll to lock in the critical chance stat. This greatly decreases the RNG involved, suddenly obtaining a great Riven mod is something that can be farmed for. The decrease in farm time, and the decrease in RNG also justifies the player spending time to create unique Riven mods for the non-mainstream weapons. Which is the whole point of the Riven system!

Solution to Cause 4.) Add a 6th stat slot to Riven mods, that functions as a quote on quote "weapon exilus slot". Each weapon could have cool and quirky abilities that can be rolled for. For example, lets look at the Gorgon. You could get a Gorgon-only ability that for every headshot you do, it adds 2 bullets into your Gorgons clip. On top of this, they could also add general utility abilities that can be added onto every weapon. An example could be that on each critical hit, the weapon has a 10% chance of Vacuuming all loot to the Operator that is within a 15 or 20 meter radius. This gives DE a lot of room to be REALLY creative, since each weapon could have its own unique ability, that makes the Riven mods more unique than just stats. This would give people purpose to go build an infinite ammo headshot puncture Gorgon build, and so forth.

I am a firm believer that Riven's can be a good thing for this game. Other successful MMO's that function almost entirely on RNG will offer some sort of way to bypass RNG. There needs to be a balance between luck and grind. Currently Riven's are balanced towards all luck with unrealistic amounts of grinding. I believe we can shift that to more controllable RNG, with a more realistic amount of grinding.

Bonus suggestion: Once you've made the perfect Riven, odds are that some of the values aren't as strong as they could be, or not close to max. Players can use a Legendary Core to re-roll a Riven mod for free. The Legendary Core will re-roll the locked Riven stats only. If the stats roll lower than what is currently there, the stats will not change. But if the re-roll has higher stats than current, the stats will change to the higher stats. This provides another element of min/max and end game. This will also stimulate the economy, as you best believe people will be looking to spend big platinum on flawless or near-flawless Riven mods. If a Legendary Core is just too high of a requirement, can do it with like 50k or 100k Kuva.

Thanks for reading! Please leave your comments and feedback. I would love to see if this is something the community wants and if its something we could push to change.

So... how far behind a 100% complete founder person is a 100% complete free to play person? I mean, does it matter? Isn't there a mastery rank cap regardless? The rewards for a single rank are rather low, unless you hit one for a free load out slot, I love those, even though several MR23+ guys in my group don't even use them so, to each their own. Unless it gets to the point where there's multiple MR difference, I think this is a non issue.

It's hard to understand the train of thought of someone who is obsessed with complitionism, unless you yourself are obsessed with completing everything 100%. That little bit of mastery rank that isn't available is like a thorn in your foot, except you can never remove the thorn. The more you play the game, the deeper the thorn gets, and the more it bothers you. Is that last bit of mastery rank important or required? No. But my god, it would feel so good to finally achieve that last dribble, and be able to say you are 100% ranked.

  5. The issue with this is that it devalues (even if its only slightly) what the Founders have.

The idea is great - I just think it's missing a little something.

Why not implement a borrowing system, like what Runescape had? Have a blue party hat? Loan it out for 1m per hour.

This game could add a similar system. If someone was so dead set on being a completionist, but they weren't around or didn't financially support the game during the founders-funding, they can borrow Excal prime from a founder, in order to gain the mastery points on it. It opens a way for Founders to make profit off of their status and exclusives, and it allows for complitionists to get that mastery rank, without actually owning Excal prime and other exclusives.

There needs to be give and take. The system your suggesting now only gives to non-founders, and takes away from founders. This is why most founders wont be on board with it. The system I am suggesting gives to non-founders, and also gives to founders as well. It adds a new way for Founders to express their status, more so than just wearing their exclusives and having people look at it. They can actually profit off their exclusives, and have the ease of mind that they'll always have it, and the people they loan it to will never be able to permanently have it. I'm sure there will still be people opposed to what I suggested though, as there is truly no right answer to the Founders discussion.

Edit: A borrowing system would also go much further than just borrowing exclusives to get the mastery rank points on it. You could borrow weapons or warframes to see if you even like them, before you grind for it. This would also open up a new economy, that rewards players for achieving higher MR, and collecting all the weapons/warframes. Imagine being able to loan out Tactical Alert exclusives that you know will come back, but are still a ways out. Someone gives you 20 platinum, in exchange for 5 hours of something like Imperiator Vandal. Or someone wants the Machete or the Boar. It would create a really unique and niche submarket, that would be capitalized by both high mastery rank players and more casual players.

Considering I only got between 4 and 7 drops (not including the totem and hopefully the sigil) and I watched for more than 24 hours, I think there needed to be far more changes than that. As far as I’m concerned, this experiment was a bit of a flop. It was a nice idea and I was really excited for it. Maybe that’s part of the problem. I got too excited and was ultimately disappointed.

Interesting, I didn't have any issues with drops. Pretty much seemed to get them instantly whenever an achievement popped.

I wonder why some people had issues with not getting any drops.

  7. Suggestion for the future:

Instead of flooding us with tons of bad drops, why not significantly decrease the amount of drops we get, but greatly increase drop odds?

For example: Every 10 achievements = 1 gift, except with better odds. So essentially being equal to 10 gifts in its current form, in regards to drop chances on the items everyone is really after.

'Frames are biological warsuits, that are remotely-piloted telepathically by Operators. What's inside them is live tissue, but it's (probably) not sentient (although we're not 100% certain of this) and that's why Operators have to pilot them. You, as a player/Tenno, are actually the Operator, even though you look like a warframe. The warframe is the "suit" you're controlling telepathically.

And as to why you can fly in space but need life-support......video game logic. Why does Japanese women's VG armor frequently cover less but protect more? Yeah, it's kinda like that.

There is actually an answer to not needing life support in space.

Our Arcwings have a built in life support system.

Can't wait for new weapons requiring 50 Nitain because "we can't devalue the """work""" of other players".

Patch notes: "Forma'ing a weapon now requires 50 Starbursts and 5 Grand Finales on top of the original requirements. This change was made to balance the ever-increasing availability of items in the game. On a side note, your weapons now shoot out fireworks 1 out of 100 kills".

  10. Hey fellow Tenno!

I'm an old player who is returning to the game. I left as a MR19 player (the max at the time was either 20 or 21), with a massive collection of mods, a ton of custom forma weapon and warframe builds, different configurations on all my weapons and warframes, and its honestly just overwhelming.

I'm trying to learn all the new stuff, such as the arcanes, focus schools, endo??, ect. All this new content is daunting on its own, but trying to relearn what my builds are vs. the current mainstream builds is just making it so hard to get back into the game.

I would love to just start from ground zero and work my way back up. After relearning all the stuff, I would come back to my MR19 account, but I need to start fresh to be able to have a stable foundation to relearn the game with.

    Thanks in advanced Tenno!

  11. If DE wants to do this promotion more in the future, they will need to tweak the reward chances with this change in mind. Spending all day with Twitch on, just to get 50 fireworks, a couple forma, a Orokin Reactor, and Latron blueprints isn't worth it.

While I understand the change, as having 20 pages open 24/7 is basically the same thing as a viewbot (buffing Warframes Twitch presence more than it actually is), they need to change the incentives to help promote the smaller streamers that were benefiting the most from these free views.

Basically, what will happen now is that people will just join the top 3 viewed streamers, because with that high of a view count, those streamers are going to go full tryhard to get achievements. People with less than 100 viewers wont have incentive to go tryhard for achievements, because they wont get any viewers out of it.

  12. No dev team is perfect. This dev team is one of the best ones I've ever encountered, but they still have issues.

It is up to both us and them to improve the game. If we don't give feedback or make our complaints heard, because the dev team is so awesome, how can we expect to grow the game?

Some of the best content that came out of this game has been partially due to the community voicing their thoughts, and the dev team listening.

Example: Old Bungie made a legendary saga of games, simply known as Halo. Halo 1-3 will forever live in legend, that was forged out of constructive criticism and feedback. The old Bungie devs were more critical of themselves than any player could ever be. Even when the game testers were saying this is the best game they've ever played, they still pushed to make it even better. That is because they knew they could never be content with what they made. Becoming comfortable with the state of production is a recipe for a bad game.

The DE devs know this, the community knows this. DE is held to a higher standard, because they have already proven they can preform. I don't hold new Bungie (AKA: The Destiny Devs) to the same standard I hold DE to. This is because DE actually listens, they actually get stuff done, and they are all around more receptive to the community. These are all positives, but this is exactly why I am tougher on them. It makes a better game. We are all playing this because we think its fun. We want it to be more fun than it currently is. How do you make it more fun? You hold higher expectations to the developers, and you reward their hard work, while still offering ways or opinions to make it better.

  13. Slow is smooth and smooth is fast.

Find your stride and roll with it. I burned myself out on the game from grinding out ALL the daily activities for months on end. I ended up taking an extended leave of absence, and just returned to the game. Now after all that intense grinding, in order to "catch up" or be "ahead of other Tenno", I'm now super far behind the curve, with all the new stuff they've added.

Find a pace that is both comfortable to you, and balances with your life. Odds are, if you keep it up, you'll find yourself ahead of the curve, and caught up on the content.

  14. There's only a Gift of the Lotus as far as I know but no actual event.

Yeah I saw the Gift of the Lotus, so I figured that was just what it was.

     Thanks!

A Gift of the Lotus? I didn't seem to get anything from the Lotus.

It was fairly short actually, but it was something like an Orokin Reactor if my memory serves me right. I wonder if they decided not to do a Christmas list, since they have their hands full with U18 release

  15. I had a pretty big forma stockpile before they changed the void drop tables and reduced forma drops.

Now my pile is finally depleted and I'm really hurting for some formas.

What mission type is the quickest way to acquire forma? Keys or level requirements aren't an issue for me. I have gear and keys to last me for days in the void xD

    Thanks in advanced guys!

  16. 100% RNG. There has heen quite the discussion about whether or not the order of hacking, or tripping alarms or not affects the rewards for quite some time now. When I mean quite some time, like a really long time before Ivara was even being conceptually developed.

DE set the record strait by saying the only thing that matters for Spy rewards is whether or not you hack the console. No hack = no loot. Hack = loot. Hack order does not matter, nor does getting caught. The only thing that changes when you get caught is your console hack affinity reward bonus.

So I would assume Ivara would fall under this as well, as Spy is basically just 100% RNG.

  17. Rebeca would be hurt by this. Also we would be dead if it were not for Lotus sparing us, so there's 0 chance our operator would want to betray her.

If you were familiar with the lore of the Starwars universe, you would realize that there is NEVER a 0% chance of anything!

Especially when it comes to the... dark side.... >:)
