  1. I think Warframe genders should be set in stone. It gives a richer lore, improves character designs and direction, and it lets me brag to people who disparage video games as being sexist as a game that isn't sexist. Adding different gender options for each individual Warframe is a ridiculous amount of work for DE, and it is not in line with their artistic decision. Having things as they are now is more fun anyway, it lets me role-play more. I'm quite confident in my sexuality, so I will indeed flaunt my hot-pink Mag or fairy-dust making Nova or Saryn. Let people think what they think, and I'll spend my time enjoying the game, especially the endgame (aka, fashion-frame).

I have, and I'm aware. Even if this topic has been done to death, I personally wanted to repost. I'm glad I've wasted your time causing you to type all of that out, and I hope it hurts your fingers :D

That's a bit rude, I just wanted to explain the dev's reasoning in the past since it seemed like you were fairly new around here. I could have regulated the tone a bit better, but I didn't think it solicited the kind of response you gave.

  3. Firstly, Equinox does not change genders. SHE merely has two forms that embody traditionally masculine and traditionally feminine features.

Secondly this topic has been done to death. The tl;dr is this - Warframes are a particular gender because it's an artistic decision made by the devs. They want specific Warframes to be a specific gender, and that's not going to change because some people don't like playing as a female character. Warframe is one of the few games that has a fantastic gender representation in both the staff and characters. Up until the Chinese Warframes, there was a 1:1 ratio of male:female Warframes. Some of the most important and powerful characters are female - we have Lotus and the Twin Queens. The game has Warframes that are male and others that are female due to the lore, if you don't like that reasoning tough luck. Let me say this, play the Second Dream quest. Without spoiling anything, it might make you feel a bit better about playing a female character.

  4. His kit is supposed to have great synergy within itself, but a few factors make it too annoying to use.

The first problem is the fact that Limbo is quite squishy. He can banish a high-priority target to the rift, but that target will come back. He has two options to take it out beforehand: Banish an ally to the rift (they need to know what's going to happen, and that they're about to go 1v1 with a tougher enemy), or banish himself to the rift (which is a problem, since he's a bit squishy).

The second problem is the inconsistency with interactions in the rift. There's some confusion about using cataclysm, and having players/enemies banished at the same time. You also cannot collect pickups under any circumstance while banished, even if those items are within a cataclysm zone.

I think they should tweak and rework Limbo so he makes a better assassin. Make it so that all enemies in the rift take increased damage, and rework his 3rd ability into some kind of high-damage skillshot. Maybe something along the lines of "fires a projectile that deals damage to the first enemy it comes into contact with, bouncing between x enemies. Will shift targets between the rift and normal planes after dealing damage, and will always bounce from a rift target to a normal one to a rift target. Can hit the same enemy multiple times." It could even keep a variation of the current augment, "Deals bonus damage to targets in the rift, based on how many enemies are in the rift in total".

  5. The original ban, from what I've heard, was because he broke the multiple account rules - using multiple accounts to farm plat discounts, and was logging in to another person's account. These are against the rules, it's in the EULA and terms of service. DE gave him a second chance, as long as he didn't cause any more trouble. Guess what he did? He went and caused more trouble, accusing DE and other Warframe youtubers of all kinds of stuff (as well as homophobic and racist comments). To further escalate the situation, his fans have gone on a kind of crusade against DE and other Warframe youtubers.

By the way, "A ban is a personal matter between DE and the person who was banned" inb4 lock.

  6. This is exactly what we needed! Thanks DE!

Edit: Question - will Torment be brought back to life so players get a chance at the changes of his drops? Or will we have to wait until they're reintroduced after the event?

  7. I got a Loki master blueprint. This would be fantastic if I hadn't maxed and sold my Loki long ago. I also got the Nezha master blueprint the day of patch 18.1, which was nice - saving me 100k credits. I thought it was programmed to only give you BPs for weapons and Warframes you don't have and haven't maxed. I guess I was wrong.

  8. I know people were complaining about locked doors when Spy missions turned into Exterminate missions, but apparently this is now an issue in normal Exterminate missions as well.

I was playing today's Second Sortie mission, an Exterminate on Jupiter. As I got to the third tile from the starting tile, I came across a door that wouldn't open. I explored the rest of the map, but that was the only path that could allow me to progress in the mission. If I had FRAPS running at the time, I would have recorded it.

It's things like this which have made me stop playing since 18.1, combined with the ridiculous Exterminate spawning mechanics which extend missions by up to 20 minutes in some cases, just while you're constantly backtracking to get 50 enemies to spawn.

  9.

That fix royally screwed everyone on exterminates. Now you have to wait and backtrack on every exterminate. In fact the sortie exterminate took 10 extra minutes while we waited for spawns. All to make sure it's really really hard to get focus.

This. So much of this. I was a little annoyed that they nerfed the method I use for gaining Focus quickly, but I was more annoyed by how tedious Exterminate missions became, especially when you get to Extraction and there are 50 enemies left, so you have to backtrack 3 tiles, over and over again until you kill them all. Especially since they only spawn in groups of 2-3. DE please...

  10. Hey Tenno - Merged all relevant threads here.

We understand that some of the frustrations are stemming from the timing of Nezha's release, as many of you had already completed your Sortie for the day. To jump start the hunt for his parts, we have bumped the expiry time for the current Sortie to 8 PM EDT. As a result, a new Kela De Thaym Sortie will subsequently be generated that anyone can run regardless of previous completion.

This regenerated Sortie will end tomorrow at 12 PM EDT. Apologies for the poor timing.

So, the people that were in the process of completing the Sortie will have to start it all over again? Really? I'm sorry DE, but U18.1 has been handled unusually poorly. This from someone who is one of the quickest to sing the praises of DE, no less.

  11. As it stands, DE has continually nerfed quick and easy methods of gaining affinity. I'm not saying that this is innately a bad thing. It's better for new/low MR players to have to work to get their weapons levelled, instead of running a single mission and maxing their gear from Rank 0. However, veteran players don't want slow grinds. They've already done those. As it currently stands, there is no way for veteran players to quickly gain affinity (for weapons, syndicate standing, or focus points).

This started with the Mesa changes, making Draco somewhat less viable as an affinity farm. I don't think they were wrong to do this, as having players just stand in the same spot and afk while 1-2 people do all the work isn't healthy gameplay. With U18.1, exterminate missions are no longer an option as affinity/focus farms. I can't say I'm surprised with the changes, I would even have bet money on it happening sooner rather than later.

Now we have a problem. DE has nerfed most of the ways for Veteran players to quickly or easily gain affinity. Veteran players don't want to grind to get it by running long defense, survival, excavation, or interception missions. You get burnt out very quickly from doing that, which only drives players away from the game. Draco and Ludi (Exterminate) where great for veteran players because they were easy (Draco), or quick (Ludi). There needs to be an endgame method of gaining lots of affinity (for your weapon leveling, syndicate standing, and focus points needs) that doesn't burn players out, or isn't considered an exploit (thereby garnering the wrath of DE's nerfhammer). I think most veteran players wouldn't mind spending a bit more time on affinity farms if they weren't so... I dare say boring and prone to burning players out.

I honestly don't have the answers to this problem. I can only make suggestions. We want it to be "fun" without being too exploitative, or accessible for newer players. Having a skill based mission modifier might be a good compromise. Something like a "the floor is lava" mission modifier might be suitable. Only available once you've fully unlocked that planet, and only on "lategame" planets (Ceres, Pluto, Eris). For arguments sake, let's say it is only available on Exterminate missions, on a semi-random basis on the above planets only. Making contact with the floor causes your Warframe to take 1/5 of their health per second (goes through shields, Iron Skin, and Limbo's rift). As a tradeoff, you gain infinite wall-latch time and enemies give 5x affinity.

  12. * Reduced the number of large group spawns occurring in Exterminate Missions.

Right. DE, I understand the need to reduce high-affinity gaining exploits. But this is getting out of hand. The changes to Mesa hurt Draco affinity farms, but I don't totally disagree with that change. I think the fact the players, especially veteran players, are so desperate for affinity farms says something about the current state of the game.

Making it so that low-level players can't instantly rank all their gear from 0 to 30 is understandable, but what about the veteran players? You will actively lose players if you continue to "fix" quick affinity gaining methods. Veteran players don't want to run long defense, survival, excavation, and interception missions to level their gear. It gets very boring very quickly. That's not to say Warframe isn't fun, it's just that it gets tedious after a while and players get burnt out.
  13. hm any recommended sentinel to buy?

My personal advice is to not buy sentinels. Their blueprints are a bit expensive (in terms of credit cost), but you are much better off crafting them. Carrier is subjectively the best companion, Carrier Prime is just as good but is even more durable. Helios is a good second sentinel, especially if you're too lazy to scan things yourself (*ahem*, that might be me). The problem is, Helios costs credits to maintain (buying scanners) and sadly isn't compatible with the Simaris Scanner (thereby betting infinite free scans).

Kubrows will be your best friend if you want a combat companion, or if you want a stealth, CC, or shield support utility. Kubrows have superior utility compared to their sentinel counterpart in every instance, except for loot collection (Carrier wins), long range support/damage (Kubrows are melee...) and Scanning things (there isn't an equivalent).

Most people have given pretty good advice so far. When it comes to cosmetics, it's entirely a matter of personal preference. Don't forget, you can get all cosmetic helmets from alerts (patience is needed). Syandanas are a matter of personal preference - some people like billowy cloth physics, some people like the simple metallic one, some people like buying everything. DE often releases seasonal event colour palettes which cost about 1 credit (some past examples include Halloween, Shamrock (St. Patrick's Day), Easter, "Red, White, and Blue" (Independence Day), and Valentine).

I cannot stress enough, save your plat as much as you can especially as a new player. Once you've invested enough time into the game and feel you want to support DE because you feel they've earned it, then start spending plat more frivolously.

  14. 1) Lots of Warframe slots

    2) Lots of Weapon slots

    3) Companion slots (Sentinel and Kubrow)

    4) Cosmetic items (armour sets, colour palettes, skins - helmets are farmable)

    5) Items on sale you reeeeaaaallly want, if it's at least 50% off.

    6) Stuff from trading chat that is either unavailable and not likely to return anytime soon, or stuff you've tried hundreds of hours trying to farm unsuccessfully.

You can get almost everything without spending plat except for slots. It will take a long time, but that's the way the game has been designed. If you're a patient person, then you will only ever need to spend plat on the first 4 points on this list.

  15. Put it on Loki. Your Focus point gain is split 50/50 between your weapon and your Warframe when getting kills with weapons. On the other hand, kills with Warframe abilities have 100% Focus point gains go straight to your Warframe. While Loki doesn't actually have any dedicated damage abilities, it allows him to gain just as much Focus points from using any and all weapons you have equipped.

The absolute best way to gain Focus points is to have a Lens on both your weapon of choice and your Warframe.

  16. This system is really terrible.  It encourages unhealthy gameplay.  You either have to solo and get stealth kills with Loki or play a press-4-to-win frame on Draco.  It seems like the devs want to encourage co-op play and discourage press-4-to-win so I don't understand why they made the focus system the way it is.  Also, this is supposed to be an endgame system but the best gains come from low level mass slaughter.  How does that make any sense? I should get significantly more focus for clearing a raid, doing sorties, or surviving 60 minutes in T4.  Instead, I can just afk Draco with my Equinox or take a Loki to Mercury and get more focus for my time spent.

DE needs to consider why people have these fears.  Every time someone finds an efficient farming method to work around some ridiculous mechanic, that farming method gets nerfed.  If they would fix the bad game mechanics then maybe people wouldn't consider these farming methods and probably wouldn't care as much when they get nerfed.

I don't think that the game mechanics around farming and exp gains are bad, per se. They're just not geared towards high level, veteran players. If you're a new or low Mastery Rank player, you probably want to take your time with levelling and farming so you can learn how the gear works, and if you enjoy using it. Along the way you'll passively pick up blueprints and resources for frames such as Ivara, Mutalist Alad V coordinates, Ash, Nav Coordinates, and Oberon.

Experienced players, who have lots of gear and don't spend much time working through the star chart, have a different focus. They want to level their gear instantly, stick some mods on it, and then see if it's to their liking. Or even more drastically, they want gear to be levelled instantly, and then sell or keep it solely based on it's stats. The game isn't balanced towards this play style, mostly because it's unhealthy for game longevity.

To the topic at hand, support frames do have a slight disadvantage in gaining Focus points. That's only if you're trying to gain the maximum daily standing instantly. If you're playing more passively, it shouldn't make too much of a difference. If your Lens is on a favourite frame you almost always use with no damage potential, you'll probably gain more Focus points over a long period of time than if you plopped it on a high-damage frame you use on rare occasions. It all comes down to what your play style and focus is, in which case veteran/high MR players are out of luck.

  17. I stupidly put my first Lens on my Loki (Prime), as I used him during the quest and he's my favourite and most-used frame. I felt really silly after discovering that the Focus point gains were pretty dismal...

That was until I got a second Lens through trading, and then 2 more for my chosen Focus School through consecutive daily sorties. I ended up putting one on my Mios.

Anyway, by running a particular mission in a particular way I can gain absurd amounts of Focus points in a short amount of time, gaining maximum amount of Focus Points in just over an hour. Using only my Loki and Mios.

P.S I've considered doing a video on it. However, I also want to protect this method (DE pls).
