The melee mod 'Focus Energy' reduces channeling consumption by 40%. Does Exalted Blade count as a channeled ability? In other words, would this melee mod reduce the energy cost per second, or does it only apply to when the user actually channels their energy, with exalted blade or otherwise?
-
I personally have always hated this PBR junk - since we don't have a true 'gold' color to put back onto it. The orokin gold color wheel only does so much. I like gold off setting colors - wish we could have a check box to keep things as is or not.
really? I find the "old" gold looks tacky. It's a very subjective topic, but I believe PBR is generally a good thing
-
And when Misa receives PBR, ppl will complain that it looks bad and not "true shiny gold". So I wouldn't buy Misa right now, since we have no clue how will it look once it gets the treatment.
oh, im actually going to have it colored black, so, the idea of "true" gold isn't a concern
-
Sounds hopeful.
-
Just seems weird, ever since we've been able to change the gold prime bits to colors of our liking, I wonder why the misa prime cannot be. Unless this is a bug?
-
Thanks!

I'd like confirmation on this. Where was it said?

Even with all these stances, melee weapons and mods, melee is still just a gimmick. Have your fun with it at low levels, and never take it out in high level missions. Why? It just sucks. The fact that you cant solo a mission you'd otherwise have no trouble doing with guns is reason enough to want more from melee.
Unless you're loki or ash with invisi builds, survivability with melee only is laughable. Damage is also subpar when you take into account the functionality and dps of long ranged weapons. Modding ur melee weapon for survivability makes its damage potential even less viable, making it completely useless to ever actually decide to pull out ur sword (Dirty mind hehe).
Imo, melee should be the highest damaging weapon type in the game, due to the level of danger were in when using it. There should also be more maneuverability animations and skills exclusive to melee use. It needs a serious looking-into for melee to be more than just an all flare and 0 practicality tool.

So if warframes really are just puppets, suits of armor under tenno telekinetic manipulation, then how do the warframes retain a personality unique from the rest? Valkyr specifically has a lust for revenge, and her powers are directly reflecting this trait which derived from being tortured and experimented on.
Which brings me to my next question- how does one "torture" a suit of armor? Clearly the suit has a sentience all its own. It can be argued that through the telekinetic bonding between tenno and warframe, the tenno experience pain inflicted unto the frame itself. However, that still does not answer the personable traits unique to each frame. If the tenno was tortured via valkyr frame, then he'd have the mental "scars" of such a traumatic experience for the rest of his life, regardless of which frame he entered.. right?
Finally, were asked if we remember our encounters with sentients in a time long ago, before we were asleep. Does that insinuate that the tenno children were the original manipulators of the frames? Or were there tenno before us? Do we age? Was i valkyr when she was tortured?
Got a little off topic but im just curious as to how they'll manage to make their new lore reveal fit with old lore knowledge. Admittedly, Im not very adept on the lore of warframe, but even i was a little caught off guard by this reveal of what tenno are.

The preview in the bundle
iswas upside downmy purchased piece still shows the pre-fixed image
-
In its image, it's shown flipped. However, we have it reversed when worn. Intentional change or not?
I personally like it as it is, however i'd like to know if this is an overlooked bug. -
its not always active anymore? what is it like every swing or something?
yeah, each swing makes the effect glow brighter.
Go to options and turn on melee weapon trail. Then you can have a glowing effect always on even without charging.
Just tested this, it doesn't even work. The glow doesnt count as a "channel" effect
-
I don't know about you guys, but I much prefer the War sword having it's glow effect permanently active.

Because the first thought when I saw the Frame was Beacon and not Brawler, only after Steve told it was a "Brawler" I started to look for elements of a Brawler in it, and I found almost nothing.
So that's why, the concept that was shown was very meeh for a Brawler Frame.
Tis only a concept afterall.
Remember the outrage over Chroma's anteater helmet literally days before his release? DE swapped that scuker for an alt helm which they probably had ready for an in-game purchase

When I hear brawler, I think of brawl. When I hear Brawl, I think of Melee. When I think of Melee...I think about Smash Bros! :p
Them's fightin words

Here is the frame I proposed during the vote:
Warframe Name: Oblivion
Warframe Theme: Martial Might
Warframe Description (Max 150 char):
A true alternative to gunplay, oblivion uses power of emptiness (void), to accelerate her body to inhuman speeds and utilises special combat stances.(149 char)
More info.
This warframe is envisioned as a true alternative to gunplay, all of her powers compliment a playstyle that's aggresive, yet contain zero projectiles; her goal is to destroy her enemies with martial prowess.
Where Valkyr is a berserker, Oblivion fights with elegance and flowing form.
Please mind the doodles, made them quickly while at work.
Her look also emulates hooded clothing, with minimal protection around the extremeties, but full heavy bulky armour around her shins/forearms:
Power 1, Void Strikes Heaven:
A combat stance, activating it will force oblivion into a melee stance with 2 seperate effects depending on whether you are not moving (important, momentum is allowed, actively moving forward is not).
While stationary (or having momentum), oblivion will deliver a 1-2 punch, the first one is a downward strike with a sweeping knockdown effect, the second strike is an uppercut with a conal knockup effect.
Both of these effects are powerful, this ability is not so much for damage, this is her "get off me button", think jat kittag levels of ragdoll.
While sprinting, attacking will cause oblivion to thrust forward at high speeds, homing in on enemies and delivering one powerful blow, with a bigger conal effect than the stationary one.
Toggle or duration.
Power 2, Void Pierces Heart:
A combat stance, same as power 1, also different effects whether stationary/momentum or moving.
While stationary, oblivion will break into a flurry of kicks ending in a single kick for moderate knockback. single target power, high damage.
While sprinting, attacking will cause oblivion to move so fast it will seem as if she blinks out of existence ( she shouldn't completely teleport though), this will allow her to cross short distances fast at the cost of energy. When near an enemy, she will automatically home in and attack with 1.25x damage/speed of the stationary version. If there are multiple enemies around her, subsequent attacks (mashing basically) will allow her to chain into those enemies, like a manual bladestorm.
Toggle or duration.
Power 3 Void Generates Calm:
Her survival power, works like shatter shield, but with a 50% reduction to -all types of damage-. Affected by power str for a max of 65%
A percentage of damage to her shield heals her, all of her speed increases by 30% (not affected by pwrstr), but her armour drops by half.
The healing effect can bleed over to allies as an AOE Buff.
Power4 Return to Nothing(void):
This ULT is what sets her apart, this is a stance like Peacemaker.
Activating it will force oblivion into a stance and will slow her to very slow walking speed, think half speed from liset.
Also like peacemaker, only holding LMB (firing) will actually activate the attack, this attack is basically a radially expanding AOE with oblivion moving so fast, she creates afterimages that tear enemies a new one.
These afterimages don't actually have to lock into an animation like bladestorm, they are basically just effects on top of a radial damage AOE. Shredded by ghosts basically.
But that's not all, this power is affected by melee and finisher damage, while powerstr only provides a small multiplier.
And further more the damage type is a general type (like finisher damage). The unique thing about it, is that it gets affected by your teammates powers, and it stacks 3 times.
Ex: if excalibur uses radial javelin near her, she gains a slash stack. (this doesn't convert damage into slash, rather adds a percentage of damage of the type)
If saryn uses miasma she gains a poison stack, if frost now uses avalanch next, the stacks merge into viral.
So viral and slash?, no as soon as she gains 3 stacks Oblivion gains access to different Ult.
Momentarily raising her damage reduction to 30% ( if power 3 is active that one gains priority obviously), Oblivion stands still while gathering her void powers, while shortly afterwards violently thrusting her arms downwards, this creates an incredibly powerful AOE bubble, which ragdolls everything (think jat kittag again) after delivering the heaviest of damage; I'm talking outright killing a lvl 40 sanguine eximus.
However the range for this version is smaller, 90% of oberon's reckoning.
Also stacks deplete rapidly, think 2-3 seconds, so getting this ult requires some team coordination.
Important note:
The stacks can be gained at all times, but not when power 4 is actually active.
passives and stats.
400 armour, 160 health, 90 shields.
As an anthesis to mesa, she gets buffed when she only equips melee, stamina gets a regen buff and her melee stamina consumption is cut by 50%.
(no more stamina, so +20% bulletjump buff)
Thems look like cave drawings

Eeh. I've learned not to hype things, it just leads to bloated hopes that no dev can achive, which leads to let down.
Except excal 2.0 was achieved
-
What does Ken enjoy after a battle?
WATAH
On the brawler, I've yet to see what he actually does before making up random assumptions.
I prefer to think of them as suggestions
I submitted a brawler frame in the last design council vote, it didn't get through but now I'm glad some people at DE had the same idea.
Though from the stream it seems like it will have an element (earth/rock?) instead of being pure brawling, I hope they take a page from some of the powers I proposed, instead of having him just punch boulders into people's faces.
Holy S#&$, an earth bender

Could be an aoe, i didnt mean its be a single target lock360 dropkicks and slams, man stealth attack animations are wonky as f* and you expect something fluid and fiddly as that.
Omae wa mae shinderu...
Dead

When I hear brawler frame I usually think of melee
Thats some deductive thinking
-
I'm hyping. The hype is so real.
I mean sure we've got brawler melee weapons and stances, but now we have the potential to see some kenshiro sh*t.
I'm talkin fury fists striking hundreds of punches in 3 seconds, palm strikes sending concussive shockwaves, beautiful 360 air sideflip to a ground slam with the dropkick of his heel, and of course a bruce lee stance ultimate
Guys, why aren't you hyping?

Umm, what are we discussing in the General Discussion?
All things "Warframe Wednesday"

There's nothing more after the prophesied Thursday tomorrow.

Do I stay or GTFO? XD
you magnificent bast*rd.
So, About Pbr... (And Misa Prime)... (Mostly Misa Prime)
in General Discussion
Posted · Edited by Ryden
Been a while since they've given any PBR treatments to past weapons, frames, accessories, etc. Though this fair for the most part, I might suggest looking into a more immediate PBR implementation for the Misa Prime, specifically. Reason being, it's the latest "old" item to return in the spotlight right now, along with Frost Prime, who's already received a dose of PBR when they revamped him. Notice how those in the spotlight tend to get taken care of, cuz they might as well kill two birds with one stone. Same happened to Excal when he received his revamp. Point being, every frame or weapon or what have you has gotten PBR'd when they were a main focus of a special occasion.
Misa Prime is pretty special, and it just so happens to be part of an eventful occasion- the opening of the prime vault. Pretty big deal.
Word is DE has no plans to PBR the sh*te out of it, which strikes me as a bit shocking. It's the biggest purchase a player can make right now, and they aren't going to accommodate our request? Dunno about you guys but I just forked over the only 60$ I had for games this month for the syandana I've always wanted, only for it to still be in the dark ages of uncolorable shiny prime bits.
TL;DR
DE, I love you so very much. Many thanks for this lovely chirstmas surprise- the return of the majesty that is Misa Prime- but dammit all, please PBR the thing. I can't even bring myself to put it on.
