  1. What intelligent counter-claims? I have dispelled them all by pointing out the fact that Alad Vi killing the Tenno himself would be a giant loss of potential profits.

Rescue missions have Tenno operatives along with double-agents, informants and other valuable personnel. The only counter-points to my statements have been

"LOL TEEMOS CANT BE INTERROGOGRATED" and "TELEPORSMATIONS HAZ BE INSTANT." (Which is pretty silly. It's completely logical to accept the possibility that their may be a considerable wind-up and processing time before something as complex as a living organism could be transmitted across the solar system).  Nothing has been approached from a Lore stand-point and the fact that the Tenno are in fact profitable has not been intelligently disputed.

So please, either make an intelligent counter-claim in accordance with established lore or get the fark out.

    Here you go Frothy

If you read the in game lore section on Corpus, it very clearly states that Corpus Dissect captured Tenno.

It also clearly says that Salvaged Orokin technology drives the corpus profit machine and that the corpus view Tenno and their warframes as the very best in Orokin salvage. I'm sorry, I don't think, based on what lore is available, that Alad would care about interrogation of captives. He wants the technology, not military advantage. He risked and mostly lost an entire system to get these captives. Moreover, these captives were not active Tenno., any info they have would be massively outdated as they were in cryopods.

  3. I like that the Lotus speaks to us. She serves as the Narrator, and through her much of what we do in the game is given some context. Without her, how do we know WHY this Grineer General has to be removed? Her narrations provide continuity and connection for the Tenno. And for all that many of her situational lines are broken or not working as intended ATM, if they were taken offline while under repair, I think I'd miss them.

  4. What? I find shield polarize to be pretty useful.

Hope they fix the bug soon. Was super excited to put her systems in to production today. I think banshee looks like a ton of fun to play!

It's a shame your team acted like that. Every player helps the team, putting off you efforts like that is just rude.

  5. There is a big codec in the works, which will let us build up a database of lore and stats and the like on scannable things. I don't remember anything explicitly stating or implying that there will be a main campaign as such, but they are clearly fleshing out characters on all sides, so it's not unreasonable to suppose it may come to more clearly story driven missions that are not events. Just have to stay tuned I guess.

I do want to see Darvo return. And just who IS the Lotus? So many questions..

Eventually, I wouldn't mind having an in dojo store and foundry, the clan tech research is there now, why not move the foundry and market there too? (Obviously issue: what about new players?) maybe have a holographic Darvo to hawk the wares?

  6. I like the rail gun moas., they help give the corpus a more unique feel. As for fighting them, any nonstandard Mao you see should be considered a kos. They all pack destabilizing gameplay elements, so just like ancients and napalms and bombards, you need to prioritize them. Happily they aren't as deadly as most of the others.

An earlier poster said the weapons are more likely coil guns, and I agree. There's no clear rail in use.

  7. I favor a change to make ash's teleport into a non combat utility skill that isn't already present. Ash already teleport's with his uber, does he need another teleport? As it is it's a skill I never use, because is difficult to aim, and in the same time I spend lining it up I could have shot the target down or closed by running.

  8. If you want to criticize people, be objective about it. Objective criticism is the best sort of criticism... it also is the sort of criticism that gets results.

So what is objective criticism? The Wikipedia Article on it sums it up nicely.

Basically if your 'criticism' has an exceptional amount of dramatic flair or is just a means for you to bash the developers, it's not worth reading (and it'll most likely be removed).

It really isn't hard to make objective criticism either... allow me to demonstrate:

This is the point I wanted to get to.

An example of dramatic developer bashing (a.k.a. non-objective criticism):

Basically if you want to be objective, avoid using profane language, stereotypes, analogies meant to disgust, etc. Saying things like "The game is a turd. Now they're putting gold trim on the turd" isn't acceptable and will be removed... whereas something like "The state of the game isn't good. They're adding more features and gold trim, but they're not fixing the underlying issues" won't.

If it cannot be said without profanity, dramatic flair or immature language, then don't bother saying it because it isn't objective.

This is what I've been getting at.

  9. I have no words. I tried to post an image to express my feelings towards this statement, but the post got baleeted.

    Wait, no. I have words.

...Crap, can't use those words here. Well, let's try these.

You're wrong. This game is grind times farm to the factor of 10. The newest content is even MORE grindy in what I can only assume is an attempt to make people play the new content longer before leaving in disinterest again (it didn't work by the way). Even at the most basic level, it's all grind. If you want great weapons? Grind that affinity. If you want to be able to build those weapons? Grind the materials. If you want more than your starter frame? Grind out those bosses. Then grind another boss to get neural sensors and neurodes. You wanna build stuff in the clan dojo? Better collectively farm materials as a clan.

It's ridiculous and I do not understand why people think the grind in this game is any kinder than games like Vindictus or PSO2.

Mm, ok, I'll jump off topic for a sec. Yes there is grind. But I do not feel it is particularly excessive or onerous. The comparison you quoted me on was in reference to East Asian online games. Most of those that I have played put running epics in WoW to shame. In rising force, to give you one example, I played a driver, who had to buy his mecha with in game currency, and if it were destroyed, replace it with a new one. The farm time to afford one took me anywhere from one to two days of pve playtime. In pvp, that mecha might survive for 20 secs before being scrap. So, comparably, the grind in warframe is not much. If you want to compare warframe to other four player squad games, have you ever tried monster hunter? I once killed 53 monsters of one type, back to back, at 20-25 mins a fight, to get 2 drops. That is excessive, and onerous. But also, my feelings on the grind level are just that, mine.

  10. Ok, I'll side track a sec; warframe has nothing on an East Asian grind fest. The grind factor of warframe is quite low, and events like 2x resources weekends further mitigate that.

The topic here is that people are all in agreement that we want de to hear our ideas, and that we make that harder when we start flinging mud at each other. Which is clearly already happening in this thread. That's my point. I see a lot of people posting who feel that they aren't being heard. The next step is to find ways to improve the communication.

  11. One thing that has been bothering me in the forums is how often people take a swipe at the dev's when discussing almost anything. Recently I've seen people make absurd claims like "if de actually played this game, they would know that".

I've played a lot of online games, and very few of them have developer teams that actually routinely talk to the player base, let alone have so rapid a roll out of new content. I get being frustrated with something not being the way you want, and bugs happen and power imbalance will come and go, but why does every thread have to degenerate into rants and bashing? If these people actually hated the treatment of the game, well, no one is forcing them to play. So why not try to keep it constructive? Is anyone convinced about your point by a good burn?

  12. It seems like, unless you are playing with people you know, groups are all over the place. Many try to push the mission as fast as possible, and refuse to wait for the rest. It sounds to me like this guy was unusually rude though. And sometimes you luck into a really good group that will discuss a tactic or want to really work it as a team.

Sorry you had a bad experience. I think the best solution is to find a clan of a size comfortable to you so that you can build up a sense of team work. Check the clan forums, there are a lot of great ones out there.
