  1. I had thought the claws would be a neat design feature, but the art released in the design council today was not a finished product from what I had heard. She still lacks her cables, for instance. Who knows, maybe she will end up closer to the concept sketch after all.

  2. Ok, here is another way of looking at it. Tenno only got involved in the gradivus dilemma after Grineer and Corpus forces stalemated. Had we Tenno not gotten involved, it's possible that our enemies would have gone back to the table. By getting involved, we kept the fighting going, caused lots more casualties to both corpus and Grineer, disrupting both sides somewhat, and we made them pay us to do it. And now we are back to business as usual. And business is good.

  3. Quote from in game lore " the (corpus) scavenge the outer systems, greedy (milk) for the the old world salvage. Their most sought after of all - the Tenno and their WARFRAME armor. Those captured are treated as salvage; meticulously dissected, integrated. The remains are sold to the highest bidder."

That has been in game lore since they implemented lore. Another telling indication were the mission names, Grineer faction missions were called loyalty, corpus ones were called sacrifice.

  4. The Excalibur is pretty clearly not empty. And if you paid attention to what Alad and the lotus and ruk said during the invasion event, it was very plain that Alad V was going to sacrifice Tenno for his Zanuka project. On the other had, the Grineer were going to enslave the captured corpus populations. Both sides are our enemies. The Grineer just want us dead. The corpus clearly intend worse.

  5. Warframe's mod pool is already saturated with 'secondary' mods, while the option to turn your melee weapon in a useful protection tool would add good variety to melee builds.

Forgot to say this above, but I'd also argue that blocking should protect a lot more, at the very least there should be a mod that lets you achieve ~90% frontal damage reduction, arguably even complete frontal immunity wouldn't be OP as you'd still be vulnerable on 3 sides.

Now that you mention it, a mod to improve defense rate of block would really improve a blocking build.

  6. IMO 4 things need to be changed about blocking:

1 - Stamina should deplete only when we are actually blocking stuff, not just holding the pose.

2 - We need to be able to strafe while we block.

3 - When blocking we should be immune to frontal staggers/stuns while knockdowns should be 'degraded' to stagger.

4 - All those blocking mods (parry, reflection, reflex guard) should be melee mods, not warframe mods.

These seem like sensible suggestions to me. I'm not sure about 4, but I'm definitely in agreement with three. If blocking could defend against say, the disruption effect of ancients if blocked from the correct direction, that would be a huge benefit.

  7. I have a maxed reflection mod, and in all my tests with it, it seemed rather underwhelming. It's a neat idea, and I'm looking forward to a melee focused build for berserker, but as is, blocking seems ineffective as a damage mitigation tactic while charging into melee range or while trying to get out of the soup. Since we have to use three slots on the block improving mods, what we end up trading off for it seems like a bad deal.

  8. As for the vanity issue, I think that is an excellent point, and you made it well. A lot of the reaction to new gear and frames seems based on how it affects what people have already in relation to it. When Nova came out, that is exactly how people reacted. But since we can all get Nova, how is her relative strength a threat to your other frames?

  9. An example of power creep I've heard often is with WoW and the tendency of newer content to invalidate older; the new raid drops gear better than x raid, so the old raid is largely ignored as a time waste. For those style games, it means that new content replaces older content for many players, instead of adding to the breadth of content.

As it applies to warframe I think it only seems to imply equipment. And while there are some items I can't seem to make good use of (the sicarus comes to mind) I don't think we could say creep has happened, merely that it's a game balance concern.

  10. I would like having Primes be better in more subtle ways, like accuracy, clip, spread, reload speed... different damage type (not AP/AI of course) or bullet flight time not the same weapon with a flat damage buff.

This is a neat idea, I think. In effect the primed version wouldn't make the other version useless (with a different damage type) but be another option.

  11. there are far more calls for nerfs by players who do not either have the weapon, understand the weapon, or both, then there are calls for buffs.

im sorry but i cannot get behind the concept of "power creep" in a PVE game, nor can i get behind stagnation of weaponry in an online game where i am supposed to EXPECT new content from time to time(albeit it's only been weapons for a while and something new like a tileset would be great).

There are plenty of nerf calls too, but this is a thread calling for buffs. ^.^ Until the new method for damage dealing is launched, it makes no sense to change balancing.

They have a jungle and a cloud city tile set coming soon.

Though, it seems odd that players would give other players static for their equipment. Making a primed weapon is not exactly easy, and none of them are worthless.

  12. its all about the aesthetics, and the fact that you grinded to get those prime weapons. you should be able to use whatever weapons you want, whatever works for you. you can still get kills. and bronco prime is just slightly less powerful than the brakk. the initial polarities are a nice bonus, but bronco prime works fine. prime weapons are generally better than their normal counterparts, but with all the power creep, lots of newer weapons tend to be overpowered or unbalanced, and that's the problem, really. the primes are fine as they are. but in all seriousness, bronco prime should've had a polarity slot or two to begin with. that didn't make any sense, DE

I agree. The constant calls for buff contribute to power creep, and will render older gear obsolete. Most any gear can be built into a great weapon, some require more effort, but is that so bad? Working up a sweet build for the gear I like is a big part of the appeal of the game.

  13. You don't Need to make a rhino. Rhino can make things easier depending on your play style, but Loki is a fine frame, and eventually you'll be able to make every frame; you don't have to rush to make the tank.

Most of the gear can be built up to be excellent. Personally, decide what your play style is and choose things that work well with it. Since Loki lacks damage skills, I might suggest you build a melee weapon that can deal with crowding infested, but unless you are a min max type, go with what you like. And welcome to warframe :D

  14. Anyone else remember when pull did no damage, had to be manually targeted, and pulled One target toward the player?

Personally, pull could and probably should be scaled back on total damage some. But it's important to consider that no one benefits from knee jerk nerfs and buffs, and pull has been revised before. Until the armor 2.0 is rolled out, whining about its damage output is a waste of time. The important thing to me is that when Mag's skills were updated, they became functional. Trying to manually target a fellow player to restore shields was near impossible. Pull was so underwhelming that I wouldn't bother equipping it.

  15. It seems to frequently not fold properly, and even when folded it seems awkward on the arm. I'd much prefer it to rest on the waist like a dagger. As it is it clips with most primary weapons.
