The sad part is that I've gotten several Sister/Lich weapons before, I just didn't remember which option gave you the gun since I took a break for over a year.

So now I'm just gonna repeat the cycle, and most likely end up getting a sub-30% roll because RNGesus hates me.

Or you can search for someone with good roll to trade Liches.

  2. It's cute how people automatically treat this as a new standard and not as an exception. Well, maybe it's truth, time will tell but for now consider this:

Heirloom Collection never meant to be cheap, in fact artificial value increase via inclusion of Royal Aya and Platinum is obviously intentional. Why? To limiting availability and therefore give those skins "luxury goods" status. Those are not some everyday Deluxe skins - this is Prada or Gucci of skins, this is limited edition commemorative Rolex. They aren't intended for everybody, just only a small group of players dedicated enough to dish out such a sum of money. Otherwise they would end up as just another cheap piece collecting dust in closet.

Oh, and don't get me wrong - I'm 100% ok with it as long as it's once-in-10-years thing.

I can understand having "rare" items to increase their artificial value, but what's the point for DE ?

Is it better to sell 100 90$ packs, or 10.000 30$ packs ?

Or it could be 3.500 x 95$ vs 10.000 x 30$. We don't know enough even to speculate numbers. However, story of The Boring Company and 20.000 and their "It's not a flamethrower" sold for 500$ a piece shows that there is a market for such things.

  6. Aye, this is my main concern as well, although from my understanding it is a deliberate action. Artificially bloated price limits availability to give those skins "luxury goods" status and make them more rare - from my understandings, it was never aimed at everybody, only a small group of players dedicated enough to dish out such an obnoxious sum of money.

That being sad, I do hope that DE will add more purchase options but I wouldn't keep my breath for it.

I mean, their site literally said the gotva prime will be coming back if you didn't get it as a drop.

^This. Plus Twitch drops are nothing new, last years goodies (as well as many minor things) were also distributed this way, never had a single problem with claiming them.

And why should a game that's built a successful community reputation, allowing 3 entirely separate games under its wing be monetizing this occasion? Founder items used to be a talking point that DE said "hey listen, we know it's not cool to have these kinds of items, but we have to respect their origins and reasons for existing at the time". They showed that they knew that this wasn't a great situation, but it was a learning point. Fast forward to today, and between Wayfinder and Heirloom bundles, it's starting to feel like nobody has learned from where we come from.

I don't see Warframe going downhill from this, but like with the way Trials were removed, you're just throwing a passionate group of players to the curb to replace them with a newer audience who doesn't know or respect the history behind something. Destiny 2 is doing this these days as well.

And why do people these days so entitled to have everything? I do believe that Heirloom packs have mainly commemorative value and were aimed at very small group rather then everybody. As long as this a one-in-10-years thing I'm fine with it.

No...they made it luxury artificially, my point is, in reality its worth is no more than other delux skins. Meaning it's not luxury. Would you pay $50 for a chicken nugget because it's "luxury?" How is this chicken nugget more luxury than the $1 nugget?

Yes, exactly. Just as Gucci or Prada purse is no better then any well made purse. Price tag is the limiting factor. That's the very definition of luxury.

"value". Do you know what's actually valuable? Fairly priced bundles so that if you actually need Frost and Mag Prime, buying everything is actually still reasonable, and if you don't, it's still reasonable.

That's the point - it never meant to be fairly priced - it's collector's item, luxury. You're either dedicated enough to buy it or not - nobody forces you.

Is this ok? No, I don't think it is. Those skins are beautiful and I wish they would be more accessible for all but it's what makes them even more special.

It's no more luxury than all the other delux skins I got for free from farming plat or paid 7.00 for a 170 plat pack.

Quite the contrary. Luxury goods are defined by their limited accessibility. Rolex is no better then any other well-made watch, yet it's price is disproportionately higher, thus you don't buy a Rolex unless you're a passionate that save for one over time or suited well enough to afford it.

I concur and what grinds my gears further is that the accolade for being a supporter for 10 years is also included, meaning that you have to pay up for an otherwise complimentary achievement for the players who've actually stuck around for that amount of time.

This is another thing that people don't get. To quote, it "celebrates 10 years of Tenno valor". Not your 10 years in game. It can be compared to collectible coins made to commemorate a specific occasion.

Would just like like to add my support to this topic. Personally I feel that the prices are a quite a bit higher than I would like but still doable for premium skins. But the exclusivity of the skins being available only once and never again is frankly unacceptable. I'm very disappointed in DE. I thought they had learned from all of the complaints about excal prime and how slow the nightwave cosmetics are to return that exclusivity always creates friction in the community. That being said no hate or I'll will meant towards the team. We all make mistakes and, they are only human. But please, FIX THIS!!!

Proto skins used to be time limited as well.

  13. Ever since I saw reactor room of Shipkiller Platform I felt that it would be a perfect addition for dojo that could substitute for a couple of basic Reactors, mainly at the cost of it's size. Why though? Because dojo have a hard limit of 128 rooms and, although this might seem like much, many clans are at the limit.

On second thought I don't want to rename the ability but the staff itself (if that makes sense). Having multiple abilities with ~3 words seems like a bit much. I don't think the name itself is 'extra' but I'm not sure if it applies to the actual ability... unless I make it? I'm imagining it creates golems similar to Atlas, of course I'm not proposing it straight up copies Atlas but maybe had a similar animated creation. This is assuming the ability name changes to Pillar of Creation but it'd probably be easier to come up with a different name that works a bit better. I hate always drawing comparisons to anime shows but in Fate/Apocrypha the Caster of Black uses creation magic (I think they call it that? Basically animation of inanimate objects) to make golems and the word creation constantly comes up as it pertains to the lore surrounding him. I just don't see it working but that may just be the bias of my previous image/lore of the frame (seeing as how the lore doesn't work this could change with the frame or just be ignored out right).

I get the reference. What I had in mind is that 4th skill is basically foundation (Pillar) of the whole kit. Additionally, pillar remotely resembles staff. The second part, of Creation, also refers to the fact, that -staff- creates additional effects for other skills. The name itself is borrowed from a famous foto of columns of interstellar gas and dust in the Eagle Nebula.

Some Exlated weapons share name with the ability (Artemis Bow, Exalted Blade) other don't (Primal Fury - Iron Staff, Serene Storm - Desert Wind). It's up to you I guess.

This is the last time I try to do anything with lore 😧

Next more polished post I'll just treat it as noncanonical lore or just remove it out right.

Take it easy - the lore bit is fine by itself, it just don't quite fits Warframe lore. I bet it can be fixed with a bit of tinkering. As a side note, I highly encourage you to study Warframe lore - personally I find it fascinating and quite anime-worthy to be honest.

  15. Glad you like it 🙂 I guess this ability order is just about right. Paired with my suggestions, -staff- works as an extension to other skills - it's wise to leave it for last, so aplayer can master other skills before. It also allows to make it really powerfull DPS tool, which in return would make balancing between raw damage and ability buff even more important.

I don't see the need to use partitioned mallet behavior - after all, you'll need to sacrifice -staff- damage potential while retaining energy cost - a fair trade I think.

As for the name, I've been thinking about Pillar of Creation. Might be a bit over the top, thoght.

Third eye opening on frame is a nice touch but you'll need a visual indicator (like particle effect over head) to clearly see when ability is in use, especially since you only see back of warframe most of the time.

    In terms of lore:

    Spoiler

Warframes had been created by Ballas, or at very least had been overseen by him. Warframe progenitors (first of their kind) are a result of infecting living humas with cerfully picked infestation strains.
