  1. I'm on the PC, have been playing for two and a half years. I really wanted to become a founder, but at the time simply couldn't afford the price of admission. I do miss having an Excalibur Prime , particularly the potential energy gains from Death Orbs in Void missions. That said, one of the purposes of the founders program was to provide DE with an influx of cash from the player base in exchange for exclusive items. While I do wish I had access to those items, I fully understand and support DE's position on making said items available only to the founders; I'd likely think less of DE if they went back on their word of making the items being exclusive to founders.

  2. Yes, stat wise the Paris is a bit "better" than the Cernos. With that said, however, you might want to go ahead and build the Cernos. The reason for this being that the only way to effectively rank your player rank is to rank to 30 as many weapons and warframes as you can get your hands on. So go ahead and get the Cernos, rank it up fully, and as the Cernos is not required to build any other weapon you can sell it for a few credits and to free up a weapon slot. You could then get yourself a Paris to rank up.

  3. First of all, congratulations on getting the treasured 75% platinum discount! I highly suggest that if you plan on playing Warframe long term that you go ahead and take advantage of the offer for your own use. As for trading platinum with your friend, that should not be a problem. However, I would caution you on two things: First, NEVER share your account information with anyone. Second, trading large amounts of platinum will costs an extremely large number of in-game credits for the final receiver of the platinum.

    Enjoy!

  4. This sounds to me as if you have Dynamic Frame Rate Control (DFC) enabled. If you use RadeonPro, perhaps you might have accidentally enabled this option? If you're not using RadeonPro, I'm not sure off the top of my head what might be limiting your frame rate to 45.

Vsync can increase latency between actions you take and the action on screen, so unless you are experiencing tearing in your video and are distracted by it, I might recommend you leave vsync turned off if you cannot resolve the 45 frame rate issue with it turned on. Setting the max frame rate to 60 and getting a steady 58 fps is also a really good option; that keeps your video card from working too hard and uses less energy - and you'll never miss those measly 2 fps.

The last bit of advice I would give is if you are ready to upgrade your video card AND monitor...you could always upgrade to a FreeSync or G-Sync capable video card and monitor combination. Just keep in mind that FreeSync and G-Sync are AMD and Nvidia solutions, respectively, and you will need to make sure the monitor you choose supports either the FreeSync or G-Sync feature of your video card. FreeSync and G-Sync both dynamically change the refresh rate of your monitor to match the frame rate your video card is outputting. This results in liquid smooth video regardless of the frame rate (as long as it doesn't go below about 30-ish fps, that is). Either solution is going to be good for you, but I will say I have used a G-Sync setup for about a year and a half and I love it.

  5. Folks here are pretty much right in regards to early game; it can be tough! The Warframe and weapon ranks you listed indicate that you don't have many mod points to expend on mods, making it fairly difficult to up your damage output until you rank up your warframe and weapons...shoot, your Excalibur doesn't even have all his abilities activated, yet.

But don't despair! To compensate for warframes and weapons which have yet to be fully ranked up, and even if your play style is solo, you really should play in public mode so that your squad mates can help out with the damage and revive you if needed. Also, don't try to take on missions which are too high for the low amount of damage of which you are currently capable. Don't worry too much about trying to acquire mods; I know they seem all too rare for you, now, but soon you'll have dozens of duplicates. Also, keep in mind that adding an Orokin Catalyst or Orokin Reactor to your warframe or weapon, respectively, will allow you to double the number of mod points available to that item.

Also, you can trust in that the more you play the game, the more effective you will become with even lower power warframes and weapons. So, Tenno, keep fighting!

  6. bluehawk716, while advertising on the forums is always a good start for recruiting, I highly suggest you recruit players you meet in game. I think you just might be surprised by how many players don't belong to a clan, or might even be looking for a new clan. If you don't use the in-game voice chat, you might want to start using that if you are able. Speaking during missions often piques the attention of squad mates. I've even had players on opposing teams seek me out after PvP matches to ask for friend requests and even to join my clan. I would, however, caution against hounding squad mates about joining your clan...nobody likes to be badgered.

Good luck on finding new clan members!

  7. As others have said, there really is no best melee weapon. I've seen some rather fine responses as to other people's choices, so I'll toss in my two cents, too. I find any of the whips to be excellent choices - a forma or two and proper modding results in a whip having the following traits: extremely fast, great hit radius, and high damage. I hop into sessions with my scoliac and usually end up with the most kills, most damage done, and the highest number of melee kills - by far. Whips can be so effective that I now will often only use my primary and secondary weapons for necessary ranged attacks.

  8. Host migrations are usually caused by either the host leaving the session, or by your loss of connectivity to the host. First, check to make sure your firewall is properly set up to pass TCP and UDP traffic. An easy way to check this is to go to Options -> Gameplay -> Analyze network. (More information may be found here: https://warframe.com/firewall) Failing that, try rebooting your router(s) to see if that helps to clear up your issue.

  9. Abilities like MOD's will have a pre-determined amount of slots.

It's funny you say that. Warframe abilities used to be mods which could be equipped even on an unranked frame...providing your unranked frame had an equipped aura providing enough mod points allowing you to equip the desired ability mods. Also, as abilities were mods, you could have several of the same ability mods (but only one of each ability mod type equipped at a time) with each being a different rank; it made for some interesting mixing and matching of abilities and regular mods. Ability mods were removed in Update 15 (if I correctly recall) and were replaced with the unlocking and increasing power of abilities as your frame ranks up.

  10. Yesterday I found a glitch on the Grineer PvP tileset where it is possible to get behind the walls, have the ability to see and damage other players with my weapons, but not be seen or damaged by other players. A gap at the meeting point between two walls and the ceiling acts as the entry point. Once there, a fairly wide area of the arena may be viewed and used to spot and damage enemy combatants. It is also possible to drop down a level or two in the wall before exiting a gap in a lower ceiling to drop into a passage and return to the common map area. As I just started playing PvP, I don't know if this glitch is already widely known, but later today I will play PvP and will record and provide a video showing how this may be exploited.

  11. I believe I've seen this before, but here we go...

Map location: Oceanum, Pluto - Corpus spy mission

    Warframe: Loki

Where: The REEEEAAALLLYYY tall elevator with sets of windows in the shaft.

What happened: Running around as Loki, invisible, run into elevator to go up. Hit the pad to start the elevator moving up. Just as the elevator door closes, I then turn to the poor Corpus lackey who just happened to be in the elevator with his back to me. I proceed to stealth kill him just as the elevator is moving up, but during the kill animation everything but my Warframe and the blood spatter turns black. When the animation completes, I'm falling through the map to my eventual death.

    That's it.

  12. Q: Prior to mission start, I'd like to see Warframe do a little math behind to scenes to calculate, based on a combination of connection quality and system performance, who in the party would likely be the best host of a mission. This test would be performed prior to the start of each mission. Any chance we might see such a mechanic?

Q: How about a 'no host' checkbox for players who know their connection or system is not up to the task of adequately hosting? For example, while my PC is greatly overpowered for most games and very capable as acting as host in games using P2P communications, I live in a rural area and only have line-of-sight wireless (microwave) as gaming-capable broadband connectivity. While this connection is fine for me to use when connecting to other hosts, my connection quickly becomes saturated when my system acts as host - not a good experience for the other players.

Q: Dedicated hosts - providing sufficient connectivity, I'd love the ability to provide a dedicated Warframe host. I envision the dedicated server running on a system with low overhead (preferably Linux), and each dedicated Warframe host would be able to host multiple simultaneous sessions. On top of that, I would envision being able to create a priority list of players, such as a clan, which would be able to connect their party to the dedicated host. I expect such a setup would improve the gaming experience for all playing on such a dedicated host.

Q: Speaking of Linux, with SteamOS on the horizon, any chance we might be able to get a Linux native Warframe client?

Q: For those of us who stream, might we be able to have access to some sort of SOAP or REST API to retrieve loadouts currently in use by specific players? This would allow for streamers to dynamically display current or last-used loadout configurations of their Warframe, as well as the loadout of their party members. It would also facilitate people being able to have forum signatures which display their loadout.

Thanks for the awesome game. My boys and I are proud to have been able to support your efforts...our only regret is we didn't take advantage of the 'founders' opportunity when we had it.

  13. Very nice rig. I'm surprised you are only hitting about 50 fps on it. It sounds like something is not right. I'm running a lesser configuration than your setup. I won't list everything, but I'm running an i7 4770k (also at stock), a single GTX 770 (2GB), and an ASUS VG248QE monitor with the NVIDIA G-SYNC DIY mod module. I have all graphics settings set to the highest settings and, without regard to the mission type, I am virtually consistently running maxed out at 144 fps, only dipping below that by a few FPS on very rare occasions.

I would suggest you at least start trying to rectify the issue by using GeForce Experience to optimize Warframe's graphics settings. You might want to try turning off NVIDIA's DSR for WARFRAME if you enabled it globally. Also consider a local issue if other games also run below expectations.

Sneak Old Bastards [sOB] has been growing fast, but we are still looking to add to our in-game WARFRAME clan! At SOB, we value age and cunning over youth and skill! We formed this clan for mature gamers (hmm... oxymoron?) to have a place to be free of the...well...the kids. Where other clans look for youthful players, we are looking for the crusty guys and gals who are young at heart.

Why do we look for mature players? We don't need to hear "epic fail (hahahahahaha)" every time we die, nor do we want to hear any screaming in TeamSpeak ('cause that just makes us poop our Depends). SOB members are looking for the fun social experience of people we can relate to. Please check us out, jump on our TeamSpeak server, and have some fun. AARP or AMAC cards are not required...but are highly recommended!

SOB is formed out of the members formerly of several other clans by people looking for a less drama gaming experience. We are adult gamers that respect each other and we do not need the childish behavior of younger gamers. WARRAME is not the only game we play together, but you're not required to play everything the rest of us play. We do require the use of TeamSpeak, and we do expect our members to be in their mid-twenties or older...much older is great.

What does WARFRAME clan membership in our clan offer you? A great time with like-minded folks who are ready and eager to help you out. We also have a quite nice, and fully stocked, dojo; we have all of the current clan-only blueprints researched, and we research all new blueprints as soon as they are available for research.

Want to join us? Hop on our TeamSpeak server at 66.151.138.13:6130 and join the WARFRAME channel.

Also, please feel free to check out our website: http://clansob.com/

Hope to see you with us, soon!

  15. I would like to be able use a read-only web service, such as SOAP or REST, to query a player's last known or current loadout of warframe, weapons, and sentinel; being able to also see ranks, gameplay statistics, which mods are equipped, and names of other players in the targeted player's active session would also be desirable. My thought is this could be used to populate overlay information on player live streams, or could be used as an informational tool on clan websites; both of which I plan on using if such a web service is made available to the Warframe community.

So my questions to DE are: Might such a web service API already exist? If so, where may we find it? If not, is Warframe engineered in such a way which would lend to it being technically feasible to provide this type of web service API to the Warframe community? And if this also true, might this be opened up to the community in the future?

  16. Wait... Snow0335 really won randomly awarded platinum prizes on both LiveStream #34 and #35?!? Good for Snow0335. But, while mathematically possible, I question the randomness of the tool now being used.

    Plat winners for LiveStream 34:

    Snow0335
    jjshoop
    Jenax002

    Plat winners for LiveStream 35:

    Snow0335

    Saldi98

    BadmanLTU

I watched both streams and could hardly believe that!

  17. With the SteamOS beta available, and a general release just around the proverbial corner, I am hoping DE will consider a native Linux client. I sure do hate having to fire up Windows just to play my favorite game.
