Because a lot of people seem can't understand the issue at hand, the issue has little to do with being sexy and more about ridicolous

Why do you assume that people who don't share your opinions are confused as opposed to simply disagreeing?

I'm not a big fan of the design choices DE took either, especially with some of her animations, but this repeated notion throughout this thread that people who don't have those problems are confused, stupid or malicious is completely unnecessary and only serves to delegitimatize the position.

It’s such an unfriendly grind for the targeted crowd that you described.

The grind is definitely obnoxious, but Shelusine's position about what her 'target demographic' is pretty dubious too. It seems more like a sideways way to throw shade than an actual observation about her mechanics.

Oh course a grindhardsquad fan would say that.

Believe it or not Revenant is actually an incredibly poorly designed frame both mechanically and thematically.

I get that you hate Revenant's kit with a passion, what I don't get is why you're so obsessed with destroying him and having DE design a new frame with the same name.

Like, I absolutely can't stand playing Trinity or Mag, but I'm not going around to as many threads as I could find demanding that DE scrub them from the game and replace them with something entirely different. I just... don't play them and let people who want to continue doing so.

Not enjoying something is one thing but I really can't figure out this "nobody should be allowed to!" mindset you have about him.

  4. 2 hours ago, Me.Church said:

What about the people who don't like that though? Are they just supposed to stay away from the frame forever?

I mean, yeah, that's generally how that works. If a frame doesn't suit your playstyle, find one that does. Picking a caster frame when you really want something that emphasizes melee combat (as per the OP's suggestion) seems odd.

Not sure how come "new" abilities is such a hang up for some people

For one, there's the game flow factor. People who really like Ember probably don't want to play an entirely new warframe that shares Ember's name, they want to play Ember but good.

For another, there's the practicality factor. The more dramatically a set of proposed changes the more difficult it is to implement and the less realistic getting said changes implemented becomes.

And at some point the thread becomes less about Ember feedback/suggestions and more like a stealth fan-frame thread.

It seems kind of weird to get all angry at peter for supposedly stating his opinion as fact and then drop this a couple lines later.

What you're reading right now from me is frustration, because I remember many of these since I stopped playing in 2016. People keep reporting them as I always find threads whenever I bump into another one, but that's all that happens, they just keep getting reported and then nothing.

I totally get that. It's really frustrating. I remember taking an almost year long break from this game and coming back to find that major problems I had back then still existed and all a bunch of massive fixes to modding and damage calculations that were coming soon the year before not only weren't implemented yet, but not even being talked about anymore.

    2 minutes ago, Atsia said:

There's also considering that DE might not have those bugs as priority.

I'm not sure how much box jumping screws things up but the excavator bug described sounds pretty awful. I've seen missions that will just stall out for a long period of time because power cell enemies stop coming, I'm not sure if that's the issue specifically being described there or something else but an issue that can grind an entire mission category to a halt feels like it should be up there on the priority ladder.

Perhaps if DE wound be a bit more transparent on what can be fixed or not....

I feel like communication is definitely a big source of frustration with DE.

We have these planned announcement streams where DE will talk about upcoming and future features but there's very little back and forth dialog between the devs and the community, which makes it incredibly frustrating when there's a bug that we simply never hear anyone talk about or there's some big game feature that gets announced and then not brought up again for months with no clue whether it's been shelved or delayed or reworked or if it's still on the table or anything.

It can make it feel like people are just shouting into a void and then waiting for months to see if anything comes of it.

We're not working for DE here. We're not their HR management, not their game developers, not their database engineers, nor their game creative lead, we're just players. Try to keep that in mind in the future

I never said any of us were, but if you're trying to bring light to topics that you feel aren't getting enough attention or trying to get DE to change the direction they're developing the game "fix the old bugs and make real content" isn't particularly persuasive and isn't very specific. Being hostile and bitter over someone disagreeing with those opinions certainly isn't going to help you either.

Even if I did work for DE and even if I desperately wanted to make Kraus0614 happy... I wouldn't know where to begin, because I don't know which bugs he has a problem with or what 'real content' is.

Contrast with, say, the post right above mine where we have a conversation specifically about the content drought surrounding Fortuna, which is specific and substantive.

People just hop on the "Here's another complaining idiot" bandwagon when there is a real issue being brought to light.

You didn't mention a single real issue in your post. You complained about bugs without listing a single one you wanted fixed. You complained about support without providing any examples of bad or good support (other than a fairly generic comment about automated replies). You complained about not having enough 'real' content without providing even a hint over what sorts of content you want to see more of.

I don't know how you can think any of those qualify as 'real issues' or 'constructive' as you suggest you are.

Complaining about chat bans is at least kind of specific, so maybe focus there... just expand on it. Explain why you think the current system is bad for the game's health and why your vision of it would be better instead of just being angry about it.

I mean, everything else aside, you're literally here trying to convince DE to change the way they develop the game toward a vision you find more preferable. How is... all of this even remotely persuasive?

arguing about the usefulness of an idea

"Just fix all the bugs and make better content" isn't an idea. It isn't anything. If you want to martyr yourself over big mean forum users daring to disagree with someone, at least pick something with substance.

  9. Both Fortuna and PoE are walled gardens with content and rewards exclusive to them so there's going to be a degree of popularity based on that alone.

Long term it's just a question of whether or not DE is going to keep supporting them.

But that would just be a buff to the Status across the board, which it doesn't need

I mean I agree that Ember needs more love specifically but I'm not sure I agree here. Heat is a fairly underwhleming element in general and its proc being worse than every other DoT doesn't really serve as a counterbalance to anything in particular.

  11. Why do you think Chroma is asian themed? Or sentient themed for that matter?

As for the suggestions themselves. Status Immunity as a passive seems really strong. It also creates some weird internal ability conflict where said passive wants you to have big shields and avoid taking status damage while your version of 2 and his 3 want you to take lots of damage to fuel their effects and Vex Armor wants you to expose your health pool to maximize Fury.

Your 2 seems clunky to use too. 'Detonating' it to explode healing, energy and ammo seem like they're effects that could be easily wasted given the delayed activation of them (and that I don't even think there's a way to track allied ammo). You say his current 2 isn't good enough but I'd rather have the persistent effects than what you're suggesting.

You'll never be playing 90 weapons on a daily (not even yearly) basis. "But what if -" No, never.

This suggests that rivens are something trivial to acquire and cycle through, which isn't really the case (except for really bad ones).

Plus, 90 weapons a year just means changing out a single weapon every 4 days or so or changing out your whole loadout every 12 days. Not sure that's nearly as daunting as you think it is.

  13. It's interesting how right now the two threads at the top of this forum are someone talking about how garuda is so great and another person asking for a rework to garuda because her skills suck.

  14. 2 hours ago, Eirshy said:

The fact that multiple people in this thread have referred to bringing a frame that is actually good at Excav as "cheese" tells you all you need to know about how braindead easy these missions are without the turbo-squish nature of the excavators.

That's... literally the point of the complaint. There are an extremely narrow set of warframes that completely trivialize the mission by making the excavators almost impossible to harm without a modicum of effort and without them they die in literally a couple shots from random enemies. If I'm playing Frost the rest of my team can just go AFK because nothing is going to hurt those excavators.

    That's dumb.

This isn't 'some warframes aren't good at defense!' this isn't 'don't mod your weapon for magnetic if you're fighting grineer'. This is a mission either being braindead easy or tedious based entirely on whether you have one of... maybe five-ish specific warframes on your team going into the mission.

I don't bring Titania into Arbitrations because she's extremely squishy and can't splash drones while in Razorwing, for example.

Probably not a great example either, since Titania being weak and Arbitrations having a crappy meta are also pretty common issues that pop up on this forum (because seriously, how is that a good thing?).

    2 hours ago, Eirshy said:

It's not DE's fault you didn't bring enough damage, CC, or defense

Glib one-liners are all well and good but... DE is the company who balances and tunes the game. It literally can't be anyone else's fault but theirs if the balance is janky.

You don't want to use the ideal load out because that removes any challenge.  Yet at the same time you want the armour increased which by default would then remove the challenge you're looking for.

The challenge is to keep them alive.

Yeah, because the only two options are making excavators invincible or making them die almost instantly in missions like these. There's absolutely no middleground that could be created whatsoever. Definitely not.

  16. 7 hours ago, TheGrimCorsair said:

Sorties are intended to reward good decision making and equipment choices for players. There's no reason for the Excavator to even be taking damage in the first place, fragile or not.

Only if you bring one of an extremely narrow selection of frames that have the sort of area denial skills that let you pull that off. Otherwise that's simply not true. That's literally the whole problem. There's a tiny fraction of warframes that can utterly trivialize the mission to the point of rendering them more or less mindless activities and if you don't have one of those the excavators have basically no staying power whatsoever.

That's not rewarding good decision making, that's just kind of a busted mechanic.

  17. 4 hours ago, Birdframe_Prime said:

Well to that I say... you don't really have to rework Heat, because that's not a buff to Ember, that's a buff across the board to every single frame.

I mean that's fair, but being a heat focused Warframe the issues with Heat damage and Heat procs are still going to be inexorably tied to her. Plus having a DoT would be a natural day to reduce the frontload in her damage except the heat DoT's mechanics are really bad.

    4 hours ago, Birdframe_Prime said:

I've had some good feedback on this one, do you think it could work?

Indirect damage mitigation by creating barriers (as you describe in her 1) is a really good way to let her survive without just making her tankier like DE doesn't want. I like that.

This pitch also reduces the overlap between her skills which is a good thing too, having a bunch of different skills that are mostly just fire damage ends up diluting them, this iteration still definitely has her leaning heavy on the fire damage, but turning her 2 into her main nuke and making her 1 have defensive appeals makes them more distinct in a good way.

If I had one issue it's that you sort of have competing concepts with WoF. On the one hand you want to use the initial activation buff as an offensive tool in and of itself to throw fire and bullets around faster, on the other you want to activate it as soon as possible so you can let the damage build up as much as possible.

Do you envision it as an automatic activation after 10 seconds or a recast effect with a 10 second minimum? The former would alleviate the previously mentioned problem but also might make it clunky to use since you're planning around what enemy density is going to be like 10 seconds in the future.

Other than that I really like it, except that I think it might be too big of a set of changes, a lot of DE's reworks tend to be smaller tweaks.

I don't either, but they did actually state it live on stream that they don't want Ember to have base survivability casts, they took Overheat away because they just... didn't want her to have it. Don't think it's right for her thematically or something.

I feel like glass cannons don't really work very well in Warframe considering the inescapable nature of a whole bunch of the game's damage. You can dodge explosions and play keepaway with enemies who have dangerous close range attacks but a lot of damage is coming from bullets being fired from all direction that you aren't going to reasonably avoid without barriers or some other form of area denial which aren't quite her things. Especially since she's encouraged to set herself on fire to improve her performance. She could at least use some sort of light self healing if she's going to be constantly taking chip damage with no other way to deal with it.

If they really want her to be a glass cannon though I hope they review Heat as an element and status soon, because the weak damage profile of the element and the inferior quality of its proc really holds Ember back... I mean there are holes in her fundamental kit too but those certainly don't help.

The Arbitration meta is, IMO, really bad.

So much this. Warframes and the cool stuff they can do is one of the main things that makes this game stand out and yet this supposed endgame challenge is set up to disable huge chunks of that.

There has to be a better solution to CC chains and room destroying abilities than essentially just turning off Warframe skills.

Normalizing the reward rate also feels super important. Might be a little unbalancing with the current reward system but I feel like having to wait 10 minutes per feels too slow and it makes acquiring rotation C stuff feel tedious. Not hard, tedious.

  20. It feels like one of those predatory monetization schemes you see in those cheap cash grab mobile games, make the player wait and try to incentivize them into spending money to not wait. Combine with other sketchy monetization options like mod packs and credit packs that seem designed to prey on a new player's inexperience and it's really not a good look.

It's strange because as a whole DE feels like such a good company and releases really solid content with a core business model that's pretty friendly to f2p users and yet alongside that we have stuff like this.

  21. 7 hours ago, (PS4)LoisGordils said:

Why are any of you giving feedback on a Warframe whose skills and mechanics are completely unknown to us save for one detail?

I mean, the main thrust of the OP's feedback is telling DE that they don't want her unlock requirements to be as heavily gated and clunky as Baruuk. That's completely fair game.

Same here, however, if you are carrying little or no plat, discounts pop up all the time. Funny how that works.

I'm not sure either of these are necessarily true.

I regularly take like semi-long breaks from this game and have had a plat balance of... 8 for the past two years and not once in that time period did I ever see a discount over 20%.

But I got a 75% off coupon in the middle of a playing streak after buying prime access a few days earlier.

I mean obviously that's just an anecdote and not research but the whole "You get more discounts if you don't have any platinum and take breaks" hasn't been something I've seen pan out in practice.
