I covered this earlier. I'll repeat, so you don't need to search through and find it. I suggested changing the format of the cards to this:

    Augur Secrets

    +24% ability strength

40% Energy spent on abilities is converted to shields (40% total)

    <WARFRAME>

In my suggested format the part that says (40% total) would change based on how many cards on all of your equipment that had the same effect. So, for example if you had Augur Secrets, Augur Message, and Augur Pact (a pistol mod) equipped, Augur Secrets would then look like this:

    Augur Secrets

    +24% ability strength

40% Energy spent on abilities is converted to shields (120% total)

    <WARFRAME>

Note that the bar and the words "set bonus" would be removed.

No, that will lead to people being confused. Because your format suggests that the total for all the set mods is 40%, of which I have 40%, so there's no point in adding another from the set. Your suggestion adds a layer of confusion without any improvement. You were confused without that, don't go trying to make it worse.

  2. Wow. I read the first post, figured it should be easy to explain this, then read the replies. Then I saw that there were more pages. Seriously? 4 pages? Of you arguing semantics because you were a bit confused? No. That's not any good.

Look guys I understand. You got confused, you thought that it meant one thing, when it actually meant another. No big deal. Time to move on.

Here's the original reply I was going to write:

    =================

You have one set with multiple members. Each of the members of the set gives a specific bonus, and the set gives a different bonus. Adding to the set increases the magnitude of the set bonus, but there is only one set.

The card is very clear indicating which is the individual mod effect and which is the effect caused by the set, it also indicates how many members of the set are equipped. You can immediately see the effect produced when adding or removing a member of the set.

If you were initially confused by how it works, that's fine, we've sorted it out now by explaining to you how it works. Others weren't confused because the concept of set bonuses are not a unique mechanic to warframe, and that's fine too.

    =================

Literally, save the 'I write code', the 'other games handle it differently', the "I thought it was shiny and new but thought that it's broken because I didn't comprehend, so I'm going to sulk", and the "oh it's been around for a while? Yeah well it's shiny and new to me, so there". The mechanic is blatantly obvious, the additive effect for each mod in the set is obvious, the description is clear (in English at least) and it seems it's doing exactly what it says it is doing.

Next time you are a bit confused, check out the wiki, you'll find it to be full of shiny and new stuff too. (Maybe it is also shiny and new to you.)

implementation suggestion: To prevent abuse of this mechanic and its use to end run around normal game grind/achievement I'd make this a service Baro Ki'teer offers. Automatically that means its only available periodically. Second, this is Baro we're talking about and what's Baro with out Dukats? So realistically I'd say trade in would be 10:1 and the Dukats relative to the rarity of the part you're trading for.

Yes the rng gods have frowned upon me quite a few times since I've started. To the point where I've called it quits for the day a couple of times.

Usually won't take me a week for a normal frame if I'm actively working on it (so far), and that's going to be the average time for Baro to show up (time to wait ranges from 2 weeks to one day; average one week).

Also as far as I recall the drop rate for most boss-drop frame components is the same for each. What you think is rare because you're on the 20th run for it, I may have gotten 5 of in the first 6 runs I did. So saying scale ducats with rarity... Doesn't work.

Yeah the rng gods are fickle, and often ruthless, but at the end of the day, we know that there's something that can appease their wrath: the grind.

Or you can buy a forma blueprint (think they also drop as mission rewards) and you can just farm the resources to make it in your foundry...

I've been doing a bit of both lately...buying with platinum and crafting.

BTW why the "blue potato" nickname? I've always thought they resembled jigsaw pieces myself.

    Forma ≠ potato.

Potato = "Potent Orokin Technical Augmentation and Tactical Offensive" device.

    Blue potato = Orokin catalyst.

    Golden potato = Orokin reactor.

Forma's nice. Easy to get while farming for primes from relics. It's useful. Drops the mod capacity cost. .. for one mod spot at a time, and locks you in to a specific sort of mod.

Potatoes double the mod capacity of the whole weapon / frame / sentinel / whatever.

This would have the up side of adding some diversity in the lines you hear in your Orbiter. Really, if I had a penny for the amount of times I've heard Ordis ask if I'm "Imagining a bloody battle." I would be able to buy an expensive new computer at the very least. And before you mention the mute button, no. I refuse. But many other people just mute him, and I find that sad due to his backstory. They do it anyways since it's so repetitive, so it's understandable. Thats what this could possibly fix.

Uh... Most of the time he asks me that, I was planning on getting into a bloody battle... Or just got out of one, or was trying to avoid one.... I just figured that he was pretty intuitive.

Suggestion, if they do head down that road, just have ordis be super possessive of the operator during quests. If any other cephalon is active then Ordis can engage an emergency override say that the operator's safety is paramount, and proceeds with the quest as normal. After the quest the other cephalon can reassert control and chide him saying "how rude", thank Ordis for taking over during the quest, or comment on seemingly having missing time and no memory of the apparent changes.

Personally I think that having them interact with Ordis occasionally with would allow for variety even if they weren't the main ship's cephalon for our orbiter.

Make it look noice, slap a few forma on, try some augments, throw on a reactor, mod that bad boy up and you've got yourself a perfect warframe! (Also, get the prime version - They've got better stats n stuff)

    Preferably in reverse order. 😁

Nothing like dropping a potato in a frame, kitting it out, and then realising you can get the prime, doing it and not having another potato available.

Made for a real learning experience, that did. 😂

I think this one is simple really. The Quills and the Cetus are in alliance with Tenno army/state/republic/empire/whatever it is. Other than being an early lunch eater Konzu is an ambassador and also the head of the Cetus intelligence. No doubt he has some form of lense with warframe like HUD on it in his eye.

The Cetus Intelligence Agency? I never thought of that. But that means all the other npcs we interact with are also plants.

Now that does make sense. Tesonai is always trying to offer me a pet to take back to the Orbiter, but it's clearly not tamed because it's in a cage. I knew something was wrong with that dude when I realised I couldn't hop in the cage with the puppies he has.

  8. 2 hours ago, (PS4)robotwars7 said:

nah, he just says "Tenno", and repeats the same lines so that he can never get two Tenno's mixed up, and make them all feel equally special.

Not at all. His dialogue changed as I ranked up. How would he and the other npc's know, how would they recognise that it's me inside the various frames?

    5 hours ago, Blakrana said:

The simple answer is Gameplay convenience.

If you want a more "in narrative" answer...consider that in order to associate with a group, to rise in their esteem, you'd have to establish some kind of personal relationship for that to be possible. At least, if you want to be more than a jobbing merc passing through; indeed, the more work you do and the resultant climb in the Ostron's esteem makes sense they'd become better acquainted with you and due to the number of transactions that requires, odds are they'd recognise whatever the equivalent of either a personal ID for the time is, or even your bank account.

Even could be as simple as recognising your voice when you greet him, aka, talk to him to access his menu; might not be immediate, but the "fluff" assumption is that whenever you interact with someone you'd at least be greeting them before business. Per War Within and such, we know that speech can be relayed via the frames themselves, after all.

I wouldn't say he's psychic in the sense of "knows everything"...but if the story of the Unum spreading her Temple Kuva amidst the animals of the plains is anything to go by, there could be a trace amount of linking with the Unum which does know what goes on in her domain to some degree...Quills are perhaps those that elected to go further in that, perhaps.

But, that's more theory than anything and even then, much more of a benign iteration than what the Orokin practised themselves. If right, it does raise an interesting question why the Unum, whatever she is, seems so benevolent being an Orokin entity of some kind. Maybe she's some kind of upper tier Cephalon category designed to care for people in charge, or something else?

    Alas, I digress; apologies.

I've never said anything to him. Just walk up them and check what is on the docket like every other off-worlder.

Psychic may be the wrong word.... Perhaps sensitive? As you suggested maybe there is some way that they know without being told. Spooky action at a distance, type of thing. Someone should study the phenomenon if that's the case.

Something's fishy I tell you. And it not Hai-luk this time. Well she's part of it I suppose but you know what I mean.

  9. How does he recognise me. I mean, I have a favourite load out for doing quests, but sometimes I show up with totally different gear. He always recognises me.

Can he see the little floaty name tags? I always figured that was part of the warframe h.u.d., but if he and the other vendors can see them....

And no it's not a case of him greeting everyone the same, because I can check my standing without giving identification. And it's not a case of recognising the lisets as they touch down either. It's not like the relay where there's traffic control and multiple scan points to be allowed entry. I literally get dropped off by the beach and walk, run, hop, bullet jump in to the market.

Is he psychic too? Because this is starting to get to me. If he and the other vendors in Cetus are... How?

Maroo doesn't seem to recognise anyone, same spiel every time. Darvo, doubtful, just being a salesman chummy withe everyone other than Baro. The cephalons, they're super massive encyclopedias with the capacity to keep count of all the observable stars. Baro himself only seems to recognise the frame you're in, you just bought a couple million credits worth of gear from him and come back to check something on the back shelf? Yeah he's back to assuming you're a bum, just there to get the merchandise dirty with your grubby mitts ...

Then there's Clem. He's a special guy, you know. Little weird but hell of a fighter. Clem seems to know who everyone is, but then everyone knows Clem, or maybe he's just friendly to everyone... Unless they steal his grakatas that is. (You really don't want to do that.)

Lotus, well she actually knew who we were before we did. So it makes sense for Space Mom to keep track. Stalker, Grustag three, they put a lot of effort into tracking people down. No surprise there.

    But Konzu?

No, baiting is when he gets a rise, like if we had told him to shut up, or pointed out that he's dumb or something. Neither of us was trolled, and neither of us trolled him. So I remain confused as to what effect he was going for.

Get over yourself and stop trying to control what people can and cannot post. Last I heard, they have the right to make their voices heard too. It doesn't matter if they are late to the party and reiterating what other people have said. Leave them alone and let them speak up too.

Nobody told them not to post. I encouraged them to read up on the thread so that they can skip some of the learning curve for the current UI. I'm not surprised that you consider someone saying "hey guys do some reading it'll help you find out new stuff" similar to an attack, but it's really not.

Also, sadly for you, you don't get to stand on a soapbox and tell me to shut up, while simultaneously suggesting that everyone should be free to respond. You really need to figure out how that works, and stop imagining that people are trying to control you. I mean if you feel like you don't get to speak up, or have been told that you should shut up elsewhere, I'm sorry for you. But that has not been the case here. What people have pointed out to you is that you make lots of posts that haven't actually contained anything of note other than your general displeasure about something vague and nonspecific.

Look at Bossnotacapo's post and look at your own. He made a specific request to fix the chat breaking the invite system. That's a reiteration of what we've had before, but because it's not been fixed yet, it's a useful comment. I quoted and agreed with him above because it's something I'd like to see fixed as well. What have you said similar to that recently?

Nobody is asking you to shut up, but are being asked to contribute something useful. That's the entire point of the thread. Do try and get on board.

The Cursor UI is still obnoxious and feels like navigating the menus with somebody else's hands.  It's just slow and awkward.  Even assigning  Excavators is obnoxious, with its new selection button and such.  It just doesn't feel like the game I loved anymore.

Have you tried the mobile app for that? That part is really well done.

H guys. Look, I'm sure it's not a matter of you being ignored, but rather them being busy fixing the game and having to decide if it's better to spend their time writing monogrammed, hand written notes to each and every single person, or actually doing something useful. In fact I know this because a page or two ago I linked to the build notes all of the fixes that have been rolled out as incrementals on the update. You guys did actually notice the changes, right? It's not like you were ignoring them, right? We've also gotten feedback here and elsewhere. So, really... it's not them ignoring you, but you choosing to ignore them. You can change that.

My purpose in this post isn't to repudiate people complaining about the UI or to say that they shouldn't be angry or to say that DE did a good job or made the right decision. It's simply to explain a bit how things work to those people who want to know or who find value in knowing.

I appreciate it and while I do think that they should be able to add in the functionality that we had before, I can see that it involves complexities that I don't yet fully grasp. It's why I'm now focusing on the little broken things and the stuff that they may be able to fix in the shorter term, in this thread.

    Personal experience:

It's sluggish, even with the cursor speed sped up. Speeding it up too fast makes it way too easy to over-shoot options.

Snap-to-buttons was much better on the controller before the changes. Targeting interface buttons with a freely moving cursor on a controller feels bad right now - a controller is not a mouse, even if it "looks" and "functions" the same way.

Can't they create a hierarchy of the buttons in each UI area, and when you press "left", it moves you through that hierarchy by one position at a time per press, on the D-pad, and if you want to leave that UI area, you use the L/R sticks that can freely move you to another interface section that has its own hierarchy. If you reach the "end" of one hierarchy, and you try to move beyond it with the D-pad, it could also move you to the top of the next tree in that "direction"? Each button could have its "center" established in code, so the cursor could snap to it.

If it's not "that easy" to do (I'm not on their programming team, so I don't know the code involved, and there might be too much work to figure out the placement of buttons when the UI is adjusted a little, and they might not be able to write an algorithm to figure out the new coordinates to adjust all the other UI elements "centers" for each change...) well then... I don't know the "best solution" but there has to be better than what we have now.

I'm looking at the way the matchmaking menu works. The cursor snaps to it regardless of where on the screen it started. It could be that that particular menu has always had a free roaming cursor to deal with. But that's the sort of intuitive functionality I would like to have with the rest of the menus that open a submenu elsewhere on the screen.

You are not getting my point. Fluctuations in dynamic ISP IPs may happen more often but they get traced back to their proper source. VPN may have less fluctuation but will only ever show as an IP number with no actual proper source. It simply hides where you are really connecting from or what ISP you use. That is what red flags accounts and lets PA ban outsiders since 2 years back. The VPN may hide where you connect from, but it isnt hard to see if someone uses a VPN. It simply looks normal at first glance.

The Russia case is also not true. While the VPNs may work in Russia, they still dont work so you can connect to Amazon. This is the reason why a majority of the Russian playerbase that picked up the early access for Inquisitor Martyr cannot access the game servers since they are hosted by Amazon. There are a few that have succeeded, but it only works from time to time. NeoCore had to take down the game from Russian Steam so people didnt accidentally buy it since they cant connect to the servers even with VPNs. A few that have managed have asked for it to be put up again but NeoCore says no because it doesnt work for all users and it doesnt work everytime either for those that are lucky at times through a VPN. This started a while back and is still a major concern.

You simply think VPNs do more than what they actually do. They are great for protecting you if needed aswell as getting you better routes, but they are still not failsafe the way you think. As I said, it isnt hard to spot when a VPN is used, it is just hard (or close to impossible) to track down who and where it is used. There is a reason why people often wonder if it is OK to use a VPN in certain games or if it will result in bans. They can see it easily and there is a reason why Blizzard and others have recommended against it due to their account sharing policy. A VPN may simply flag you as a sharer if the IP bounces too much without a proper source. Which raises the question, are they using a VPN to share accounts or is it simply one player that uses a VPN. Which in Blizzards case likely results in a ban and then you need to do the drudgey process of sending in copies of your real ID etc. to get it re-opened.

First paragraph makes no sense at all. Literally. On the Internet we're all IP addresses. If you don't think so, go edit something anonymously on Wikipedia. It records your IP not 'oh that's John Brown over in Penny Lane that wrote this". All websites, email servers and game servers see us that way. We can sometimes login with an account that we provided details to but other than that, no it's not "aha! Just an ip with no real source so we can know it's someone on a vpn".

Second paragraph, you know that Russia was actually trying to ban something else and by trying to ban that managed to create massive collateral damage by hitting everything from Fifa (yes the football World Cup guys), to Google, to Amazon etc.  Something like 16,000,000 IP addresses. Russia didn't do a very good job of getting what they wanted this time. Warhammer was part of the collateral damage. And just so we're clear it looks like there are still Russian players connected over vpns if the Steam forum is anything to go by.

Again you seem to be disconnected from what a vpn is, how it works and what it does. Fix that part first the rest will follow. Here's a nice easy, short article. Microsoft has a longer one but it's a bit more technical.

I'm pretty much used it now. Just needs tweaking and small issues ironing out, chiefly the unreliability of being able to rotate your frame, ship etc at will.

For me it's the "open chat breaks ability to accept invites, closing chat declines invitation". It confuses the noobs that you try to help when you say you will join if they invite you, and then you apparently decline.

Anything that hampers a person's ability to help someone out is a serious problem. I can deal with waiting for my fashion-frame to be fixed. A noob just trying to get to a new mission, or farm for a few parts doesn't need the extra roller-coaster of finally finding people who will help, only for them to apparently act like real jackarses and decline.

(Happened to me again last night, worked out in the end, but I felt really bad for a while until I managed to explain that chat sometimes breaks the invite system on the receiving end.)

Except that the IP addresses of many of the more popular VPN's are well known and kept in many GeoIP databases that companies and governments are free to buy if they want to. Simply blocking those IP's will also block any client of those VPN providers. This is how Netflix, for instance, prevents VPN access. I run a VPN on my own server, and have no problem accessing Netflix through it, because it's just a small privately owned server. No one knows it runs a VPN (but because it is registered to me, it is obviously not anonymous). I also has an account at Private Internet Access, and Netflix blocks me when I try to log in through their VPN, because it is one of the largest VPN providers out there and their servers IP addresses are well known.

All true, and it's why a lot of commercial vpns will shift the ips of their exit nodes on a fairly regular basis, it's a game of cat and mouse.

That said, I addressed this above, by telling the same user to do something similar in setting up his own vpn and testing, the response was something along the lines of "why would I wanna waste my time".

Regarding the lack of anonymity as the server is registered to you, depends on your situation. You just wanted to watch Netflix, and that's fine, wouldn't require shady transactions out the back of a van and routing through anonymous vpn, then tor, then anonymous vpn, all over a public WiFi that you access from a location well away from the router using a high gain directional antenna. 😄

It's still a vpn, and not one that anyone's going to be able to spot as a vpn just from the traffic it sends to them if you set it up well.

Why are you white-knighting so hard? I think everybody here posts because they love this game and want it to get better.

Also, PC has had the same controller UI for about as long as that guy said and they have been complaining like crazy, and DE ignored them. It wasn't until it launched in console that they acknowledged the issues. So I can see why he would say we've had the new UI for a month and a half.

You have trouble with the math as well?

    *sigh*

Ok here's the thing, a month generally has 4 weeks. A month and a half is 6. Even if we count from May 17, we're still short of that date.

If you look up, you can find out that I'm not the only person who noticed that he jumped the gun and commented on it. And you really should look up the meaning of the phrase "white knighting" if you intend to toss it out there. I'm not trying to rescue anyone other than myself from the situation we've found ourselves in with this UI. What you may notice is that I'm asking people who are unconstructively bashing, to at least say what they are having trouble with instead of running around screaming their heads off about the sky falling down.

I've pointed out that the people complaining about a lack of 'feedback' have been ignoring the feedback we've gotten, and the sheer number of iterations of the current build is an indicator that the people who claim that nothing is being done, are really just not paying any attention to what's been going on. Oh and I'm currently pointing out that some people don't know what a month and a half is, for some reason (I blame the school system and calendar manufacturers for failing these poor souls in their time of need).

None of that can remotely be considered 'white knighting', unless you are working with a very different definition of the term.

(Just had a thought that maybe it's different in the future, and maybe you're a time traveller too!!! That would explain why you think it's 6 weeks... *squeeeeeee!* 😍 If so will you share the lotto numbers with me, future-person? Please and thank you.)

Ok, so, I’m not sure if this will quell any harsh feelings stemming from the DE leaving us in the dark, but about the 17 minute mark DE Danielle talks about the issues.

    https://m.twitch.tv/videos/275162602

She says they’re aware of the problem, but these kind of issues call for delving into deeper code and cannot be fixed in a minor hotfix. She said around the next updates they should be fixed. So hopefully that means Sacrifice.

Fingers crossed that it fixes more than it breaks.

Yeah they're working on it. But what says that even louder is:
    Beasts of the Sanctuary 22.20: U22.20 • H22.20.1 • H22.20.2 • H22.20.3 • H22.20.4 • H22.20.5 • H22.20.6 • H22.20.7 • H22.20.8 • H22.20.8.1 • H22.20.9 • H22.20.9.1 • H22.20.9.2

I don't think people have really grasped the number of fixes that have been rolled out since the update. There are people who think that just because nobody sits down, holds their hand and talks them through the scary times, that nothing is being done and that we're being ignored.

What I see is people hard at work, and not able to spare the time to coddle folks who are demanding to be coddled. Heck, just the other day we had someone who supposedly stopped playing in early June, complain about something that was fixed for quite a while. 😂

Sure. Make your circles. On a massive picture where thousands of other circles are being added hourly. Don't point out which circle is yours. Just put your circle up there with no notification or coordinates and expect yours to be seen and addressed.

Oh you see, I'm okay with that. I don't need or demand instant gratification. It's like a super power or something these days, except anyone can develop it. Wanna give it a go?

So, DE I've given the new UI a solid month and a half, and it's still horrible.

Uh... I'm a bit confused, your name prefix suggests you play on console. It didn't come to consoles in May. PC got it back then though..... But it's still not a month and a half (6 weeks by most reckoning) yet.

😀  OMGEEEEEE are you a time traveller? Will you please share the winning lotto numbers with me? I won't tell anyone your secret! Oh... Wait..😅

But still.. If you are, please share. Thanks in advance. 😍

No actually the VPN is the restriction since anyone can get the ID. They said so very specifically when they enforced those changes. They were so kind to push it back to the release of the EU/US version so players that wanted to play could. The thing you are missing is that even though a VPN may show a different IP and never give away your position there are ways for the company to see if it checks out. Major fluctuations with legit dynamic IPs provided through companies isnt the same thing. Even though if they are dynamic, giving you several different IPs over a period of time those all check back as coming from the same ISP. With a VPN the fluctuation will never or rarely show the same ISP. This is just one of the ways for a company to figure out and weed out VPN users. Dynamic IPs used to be an issue a decade and a half ago or so in some online games aswell as Steam and other launcher platforms, that is however a long gone issues.

Also regarding Amazon, it isnt just about blocking incoming communications from them it is also about blocking outgoing communication with them, where a VPN wont solve the issue, which it would if they worked as flawlessly as you think. It is currently a major issue for russian gamers.

And why would I wanna waste my time testing to get on BDO Korea? You are the one trying to disprove what they've said a little over two years ago. I have simply said that it has been done and proven by atleast one company in response to the OPs idea. And now Russia is the second entity that have impacted VPN users on a rather massive level.

Sorry mate, my vpn shows a lot less fluctuations in IP than my ordinary connection. I connect to the net with fibre from 2 different ISPS, my mobile device is on the cell network, and I also connect to the Internet connection in my workplace. So, no, you're not on the ball with that one.

Regarding Amazon again, wrong. Using a vpn will allow someone in Russia to connect with sites the ISP has put restrictions on. That's actually a major reason for having a vpn. I can say this because I have used mine to access sites blocked by ISPS for various reasons while traveling. The last one I noticed was in India. Certain sites wouldn't open and I couldn't connect at all, toggled my vpn on, connected like a charm. When a site has features that customise results based on region (eg Google), the vpn gets local results.

This is literally what a vpn does. The ISP and anyone trying to monitor my traffic is cut out of the loop. All they know is that I am connecting to a server at ip x.x.x.x and my connection is secure and encrypted. On the other side, all they know is that local IP a.a.a.a is requesting what anyone else requests. (I am using the old ip configuration for simplicity but there are ones that use the new ip configs.)

I've told you that the game made it clear in the eula that vpns are an issue except where you are using them to try and bypass regional locks, nothing else. I've explained, as others have, that there's really no way of knowing that any given IP is a vpn and I pointed out that they're using other methods of restricting access.

A quick Google search shows you that there are multiple vpns that work well in Russia. So... Again, not a really valid point.

You haven't shown that they're actually able to detect vpns per se, and you don't seem to grasp how vpns work or what they do. So, that's a no as well.

I've tried "the little buttons with arrows", they work sporadically and inconsistently, numerous examples have been cited, so no, I didn't care for the result. As for specific suggestions, I've given mine, trivial changes like removing accept with box remain, not being able to scroll with the d-pad, etc. and we hear nothing from DE in the feedback thread they initiated. This thread is to focus player's howls of impotent fury, not feedback.

We're not getting another update until the sacrifice. That will bring new issues, so you may as well save your feedback for that release, the hodge-podge code we have now is already obsolete, DE's console porting teams should be hard at work synching with the latest pc ui changes, the branch we're on now is effectively dead to new development, anything beyond hot fixes required to prevent people from catching on fire has been deferred.

There are a finite number of menus, DE needs to go through each and test it for basic operation before release. You don't get the community to do this, that feedback loop is incredibly slow and inefficient and operating in this way reflects poorly on the company. The community should only find obscure bugs not easily found through a common use test plan.

Odd. DE does seem to have responded, and they started implementing fixes as well as telling us some of the things they're working on fixing. I think that part of the issue is that they're not responding to individuals and their individual comments. I'm fine with that, because it means that they have time to do something a little more useful than responding to each of our suggestions. If you feel otherwise, I sympathise but disagree.

What iteration of the current build are we on? That's a response.

Yes I think that they should have done better, yes I agree with you that they dropped the ball. Now as someone who has done this sort of thing, tell me, what finds bugs faster, a small group with limited man-hours or a large one with proportionately more contact time?

We're here, now. We have a choice: take our spray cans to the wall and vent our frustration, or use the same amount of effort to paint neon circles around what we want fixed.

You keep bringing up things related to the US/EU servers which this has zero to do with.

Connecting to Korean servers through a VPN stopped working the same day that Black Desert Online went live in the US/EU i.e the western release. I have never said they wont allow a VPN to connect to US/EU servers, it is a completely Korean related thing in order to have players play on their regional server after their official releases. They even had an issue at the EU/US release that included Turky and a few other countries where they simply couldnt guarantee that even a VPN would work in order to buy or play the game since they werent on the zone list for the EU/US release

And as I said, even Russia has proven that IP banning can conver the use of VPNs both when it comes to outgoing and ingoing traffic. If you dont believe it read up on Inquisitor Martyr and the major backlash and accusations that were made by the russian community when they thought it was NeoCore's fault that they couldnt access the game anymore. When it simply was the Russian government banning IP traffic to and from companies such as Amazon.

Also the korean ID thing is not about stolen identities, it is simply something you can apply for in order to have a smoother visit in Korea or while diong business with them. It is a way for them to track people, see how much time they spend at the computer etc. It works so very differently over there than what you expect from a european ID card or an american social security number. It is more like a real life authenticator so the koreans cant give their country a bad name due to gold farming or hacking etc. It is pretty new, only been an active thing for the last 5 or 6 years. It is a thing that started due to WoW and goldfarmers iirc.

Wow. Dude, do you understand what a vpn is and what it does? Can you explain what it is, how it works?

If you don't know the IPs used as the exit node of the Vpn, you will find that you can't ban it. If you're using a vpn, encryption on your packets to and from them makes it impossible to tell what the end point will be, and on the other side the site you're connected to will simply see a local IP making exactly the same type of requests that any other local IP would when using the site.

Again saying that someone can get the credentials to use the game, is great and all. But that's the number one restriction for playing on the Korean server, NOT a vpn. If you use a very popular vpn/exit node, and other people have done stuff that gets them into trouble then you can count on being collateral damage when they collect a ban. That's because you happen to share your IP with the people being banned. It looks like they have multiple accounts. Again that has nothing to do with the being on a vpn as people on ISPs that assign a dynamic IP from a range will have the same issue and good vpn services will sort that out quickly.

I tell you what. There are a gazillion articles on how to create a proper vpn yourself. You can use that to see if you can do the black desert online play thing. Just set one up in Korea, get a Korean with the legal credentials they have legal access to and try to play. It'll work.

Bee tee dubs. Amazon is a company whose IPs are known. Easy to restrict access at the ISP level.

You clearly have not interacted with DE very much. They respond best (fastest) to floods of comments. Effectively, we're just echoing each other in the hopes that DE will hear us.

Also, you have no idea if the code was removed or not. For all we know, they could have simply added the new UI and disabled the old one without actually removing it.

I do agree to some extent to your second statement, about getting the UI as functional as possible, so that we can make it optional.

Uh, you realise that by that token floods of 'hey look your UI sucks and until you sort it out, at least give us a key-binding to leave a group" would work just as well if not better than "hey your UI sucks, sort it out". It's in fact the only way I can see to get us to a point where it's possible to have something that can be toggled in a timely manner.

Look at the two posts below yours. Look at the dude who probably hasn't played in weeks and is still complaining about something that was fixed long ago. None of those actually helps us. Someone saying "omg the stupid cursor kept drifting to the right when I was trying to select a reward, I lost out big time" or "dude trying to work on my operator fashion frame here and I can't rotate him any more, wtf? You all need to sort that crap right now!! Rage!" are a million times more helpful. It gives them something to work with and work on.

Re my belief that its gone, I'm working based on what makes sense from what was said. If you have any valid proof that it's not removed just disabled, please, by all means, let's have a look. If it turns out it's been there this whole time, I'll sharpen the metaphorical pitchforks and you can bring the metaphorical torches.

How long until you fix this god damn cursor? Its been weeks, we wanna play our console properly again. Jesus.

What in particular is giving you a problem right now? Anything in particular other than that there's a cursor?

    1 hour ago, (PS4)xShizukani said:

Make the Cursor Thing optional or make it only activate when you plug in a mouse and keyboard to the console, there's really no reason whatsoever why controller players have to use it when the old ui was perfectly fine, the cursor just makes everything so frustrating and slows things down significantly

Have you tried touching the little buttons with arrows on the controller? You might like the result. Doesn't work for everything yet, but maybe you can suggest specific improvements they can make.
