  1. It's not so much the weapon itself that is the issue it's the way it attacks. This really is what hurts damage output. The swings are cool to look at but the damage they deliver is awkward and inefficient at best. Sundering Weave doesn't really help it that much, you're probably better off putting that stance on a Prova or Prova Vandal IMO. (which still isn't great but works better than the machete with it at least IMO.)

On another note, I'm still hoping DE lets us trade retired weapons. I have over 20 each of the 4 previously retired weapons. (and no I'm not counting Snipetron because I missed out on that one. =( )

  2. There's also another bug that might have already been fixed. On very rare occasions, sometimes other players could pick up ammo converted by another player. (even if the second player to pick it up doesn't have an ammo mutation mod.)

And let's not forget the miter. It uses sniper ammo but it uses Rifle ammo mutation (still works like it should but it's just odd.)

  3.

As has been said, accept the wait times as a caveat of free to play.

Honestly I prefer the damage scaling over how hard armor used to scale.  I would rather have my enemies be tough because they deal damage than because I empty clip after clip into them and they simply won't go down.  Additionally, there are several warframes (i.e. Loki, Rhino) that make soloing rather easy so either you're ill equipped or you're whining.  Last time I checked nightmares were supposed to be hard.  They're still easier than they used to be since the no-energy-no-shield nightmare, nor the everything's-upside-down-controls-reversed nightmare haven't shown up since one of the updates.  So again, you sound like you're whining.  Almost every problem you state can be dealt with by A) smart play or B) proper loadout.  All you're asking for is for the game to be in super easy mode.

I am however curious as to why the new clan tech is available for platinum and the old clan tech is not.

here's the reason why damage is bad. 1 the enemy damage has started accumulating with gangs. When you have a large gang of enemies around you, it doesn't matter how much health or sheilds you have, it's still going to cause a lot of damage. Also, I highly suggest running an Earth mission on nightmare SOLO. you'll see just how dangerous it gets. You can even have a level 30 rhino with maxed iron skin and he loses it in seconds. The damage scaling in nightmare is by far screwed up. The damage enemies do doesn't reflect their levels. you have enemies on Earth at level 30 in solo nightmare that are doing damage of much higher level enemies. Tell me how that's fair, even for a much harder difficulty setting?

  4. Okay, I'm getting tired of this crap. The clan tech weapons should be clan tech only. This adding them to the martket crap is stupid. Also, certain weapons shouldn't even be in clan tech like 90% of the ones you released in update 12. Also add some new planets for christ sake. Add Earth's Moon so that you don't have to keep adding warframes for clan research. The wait times for warframe parts to be researched are rediculous. Top that off with the time it takes to build each part and the warframe itself, you've literally got to wait almost two weeks to build the warframe. Didn't you guys think this over at all. Nobody likes waiting more than they have to.

Secondly reduce damage scaling with enemy level. health and shields should but when damage scales it makes things that much more annoying. also do something about bleeding procs. They're far too dangerous right now, plus procs shouldn't stack for enemies. Hell, enemies shouldn't even be able to proc you because they gang up  and abuse it. Try soloing sometime DE, you'll learn right away just how broken enemy procs are. Also be sure to solo on nightmare on Earth's levels as well. You'll see just how broken enemy damage gets. especially the frontier grineer's Karaks.

Sorry for all the whining but this crap has gone on long enough. There needs to be some serious changes to many, many aspects of the game.

  5. I'll also say that I can run Dark Sector which uses the same (albeit earlier version of) engine as Warframe. Then again, Dark Sector's a bit older. But anyway, I'll give 64-bit mode a try. It hasn't ran much better for me in the past (in fact, it ran worse) DirectX 11 runs okay. Though it still has performance problems for me. In some cases, worse.

  6. Depsite the various performance fixes, my horrible computer still is having problems. I can have everything turned off, multi-threading on, and be running in high priority in Direct X 9 mode and the framerate still drops when doing online matches. My computer isn't great but it's not that old either. I got it in fall 2011. It's an HP that I cannot customize in any way. Everything is integrated into a  motherboard much smaller than the ones most laptops have.

It's especially bad on phobos and orokin derelict missions. In fact, I'm still having freezing and crashing problems on the derelict. This issue needs to be fixed for good. even if it means adding a 640x480 resolution option. I understand most programming and whatnot prevents it from working effectively, but 800x600 is apparently not enough. Alternatively, perhaps an Open GL option rather than running in Direct X. My computer seems to run open GL much better anyway.

  7. That issue where the color change was removed was apparently a bug. I was talking to DERebecca about it yesterday. One of the devs must have accidentally screwed something up. (oops. lol.) Hopefully, they'll fix it eventually so hang on to your ignis if you haven't sold it already.

As for me, I can't afford to sell my ignis because I've put six forma into it. Once you get to that point, selling the weapon seems like a waste of forma... at least to me anyway.

  8. I was actually thinking something similar in my previous post. I wouldn't mind just a visual effect that looked like the fire proc but actually wasn't.

On the bright side, at least the fire damage isn't as cheap as it is in Dark Sector (which pretty much uses an earlier version of the Evolution engine, with similar elemental damage visuals and effects.) When enemies got hit by that, they were incinerated almost instantly rather than DOT (unless they were a boss) As a drawback, Hayden could also be hurt if he was too close to the enemy when he caught it on fire.

As another note, I do think Ice damage should proc more often. The damage was low and it was primarily used for its utility. Something I miss a lot.

  9. Certain weapons do have special procs. Like Penta has a blast damage proc. (which obviously can't be affected by other elemental mods.) anyway, when I started this topic, it was less about the damage and more about the visual satisfaction ignis offers (or used to offer). And actually, Just as a flamethrower, it worked great. The person that said they wouldn't use it if it was just a pure flamethrower, obviously didn't use it pre-update 11. The weapon was an anti-infested weapon.

Also, someone mentioned ice damage is used for other types. Before update 11, it was essential for ignis because the freeze damage slowed crowds down. You didn't even need maxed freeze damage for that.

With all due respect to Scott, I think he's trying to hard with the game. I like the ideas thrown out in damage 2.0 but unfortunately, the damage system is a mess and they have yet to fix pressing issues such as armor at high levels (wasn't that the whole purpose of damage 2.0 anyway?)  and of course Enemies are able to proc the player way more than the players can. Even Grineer lancers and elite lancers proc frequently with slash and puncture damage (and trust me, a large group of them is murder on higher levels)

The bleeding damage caused by the slash and puncture procs is actually pretty lethal. Yeah, I know, some players say "oh it's fine" clearly they use a high armor warframe or a warframe with protection abilities. Try this with a light armored warframe and you're asking for a world of hurt. Same with low level warframes. While the bleeding damage is a good idea, it definitely needs to be worked on to make it fair to the players.

Getting back to ignis, there's not really much else to say that hasn't already been said above. I hope the devs at least read this topic and look into some of the concerns myself and others have if possible. I'd be happy if they brought back ignis' ability to catch everything on fire as a visual effect that does nothing but make enemies look like they're on fire.

  10. I'm sure some of you will argue but hear me out first.

When Ignis was updated to be AOE I was overly thrilled that one of my favorite underused weapons was getting some love. Over time, I invested in making it stronger and stronger, eventually polarizing it six times.

When update 11 came out, Ignis was still the killing machine it always was. The problem? Well the proc rate is only 1% while that's not a big deal to some, it is a little concerning to some. What good is a flame thrower that can't catch things on fire 99% of the time?

True, it does a HUGE amount of damage, even with the garbage proc rate. However, now it's just boring because you no longer get to hear crowds of enemies sizzling like bacon on a grill. The lack of visual satisfaction is the main thing that makes ignis boring. It's no longer visually satisfying to use it. So needless to say I shelved it. If you like using it, that's fine. It's still a good weapon. I'm just sad about the fact I can't catch large crowds of enemies on fire anymore.

Before update 11, Ignis wasn't just about the damage. It was also about controlling large crowds and keeping them back. Sure once an enemy got over level 120, it stopped working as well but it was still fun to use because of that feature. Now using it... well... it just feels odd for me.

    Tenno Reinforcements: “The Magnus”!

    344JEHR.jpg

    Changes:

Warframe Armor Buff across the board: All Warframes have received a buff to their Armor stat.

Ash: Buffed to 65 (from 50).

Banshee: Buffed to 15 (from 10).

Ember: Buffed to 15, (from 10).

Excalibur: Buffed to 65 (from 50).

Frost: Buffed to 190, (from 150).

Loki: Buffed to 65 (from 50).

Mag: Buffed to 65 (from 50).

Nekros: Buffed to 65 (from 50).

Nova: Buffed to 65 (from 50).

Nyx: Buffed to 15 (from 10).

Rhino: Buffed to 190, (from 150).

Saryn: Buffed to 155, (from 125).

Trinity: Buffed to 15 (from 10).

Valkyr: Buffed to 300 (from 200).

Vauban: Buffed to 50, (from 40).

Volt: Buffed to 15 (from 10).

Too bad Armor has no point in this game. The damage reduction from armor is worthless. You buffed the armor but it will make little difference. Fix armor to actually reduce damage properly, then we'll talk. Valkyr's high armor means nothing.

  12. I honestly didn't say he survived for ages. What I said is that he founded the Tenno on earth sometime after the events of Dark Sector. There's no official documentation on how the orokin fit in to all of this or when Tenno passed on if he did at all. What is known is that his principles and morals that he created when he founded the tenno became a backbone of tradition for present day tenno.

Between Warframe and Dark Sector, there is a rather huge historical gap. One that I hope gets filled eventually.

For whatever reason though, the Orokin modeled Excalibur Prime around the original Excalibur suit (we'll call the original suit Excalibur MK-1 because it sort of is in a way) So obviously, Hayden had some kind of involvement with the orokin. Perhaps the Corpus are as related to the Orokin as the Tenno are. They often refer to us as betrayers which perhaps means they're descended from an orokin lineage as well. Perhaps that's what happened to the Orokin. They became the corpus and Tenno factions. Just a theory.

  13. I said a few. Three just happened to come to mind at the time. I knew there were probably others that could completely stop or reduce bleeding damage but was unsure of whom they were.

Also, if it's Loki's Radial disarm, yes it's a good solution but you'll still have to deal with melee only units like butchers or scorpions (and those damn trollers lol.) And bleeding damage from scorpions and butchers freaking hurt! Especially for poor Loki.

  14. Rage and Quick thinking actually had several flaws that made it not always viable. If there was any lag with gaining energy, you would still go into bleed out. Secondly, Ancient Disruptors killed this combo. Any time the player had their ability to get more energy disabled or delayed, they were basically a goner with this combo.

It was still a devastating combo regardless and needed to be nerfed but not to the point of making one mod useless. I would have gone with lowering the effectiveness of said mods to make the health gain less worth the effort rather than completely removing the ability to do the combo. I really only used this combo when fighting direct damage to my health. (such as poison) Thankfully, that's way more common now because we have bleeding damage which eats your health away and crap loads of enemies spam it.

This was not a bug. It was in some ways, an exploit. In other ways, it was intended by DE as it took them almost two months to fix the issue. DE obviously isn't focused as much on balancing issues as they are on making the game run good. So, they take their sweet time, let people have their fun, then nerf stuff to watch people whine. Which, I must admit is a little amusing. I imagine it must be hilarious to DE as well. Then again, this is coming from a guy who complains about what u11 has done to ignis, nerf or not.

But likewise, there's no "conspiracy" against the players. DE loves us but they also don't want people to take advantage of the system like Rage and Quick Thinking did quite well.

  15. Keep in mind that DE has stated Hayden Tenno is the first Tenno. So the other Tenno would follow his principles and virtues in their tradition. After his soul was saved by the virus, chances are later on in life, Hayden founded the Tenno on earth in secrecy. I'm not really sure how the enigmatic Orokin fit in, but the present day tenno are somehow descended from them.

  16. The orokin are extinct in physical form. However, their technology is alive and continues their work in the derelicts and Towers, protecting their knowledge from all but those worthy enough to claim it. The Neural sentry. The Orokin are the Tenno's ancestors.

Hayden Tenno was the first. Excalibur was the first Tenno. Hayden wasn't always a good guy. No, he did what ever his assistant director, $&*^son, told him. He was deemed mentally unstable by his superiors. Prior to the events that lead to him being infected with technocyte, Hayden murdered several people that he thought were infected. A fellow agent named Nadia Sudek decided to join Robert Mezner because of this. Mezner had disappeared and Hayden was

Hayden was sent to Russia, given one last chance by his AD. His mission: To get information about what Mezner was up to from a man named Viktor. After locating Viktor, Hayden killed him under his AD's direction to "prevent the spread of the infection".

Sometime later, he was attacked by a helicopter driven by Mezner's army. After the fight, He encountered the very first Warframe, Nemesis. after being knocked off the roof of the building by nemesis, he detonated the charges he was ordered to place earlier. Unfortunately, when he did this it also released infected.

When he awoke, he found Robert Mezner looking down at him, Nemesis by his side. After a brief conversation between Mezner and Hayden, Mezner orders Nemesis to stab Hayden in the shoulder with its weapon. Then Nemesis injects him with the technocyte virus. Before Hayden passes out, Mezner makes a tiny speech about the lotus flower.

After awakening, Hayden hobbles to a nearby building where he radios $&*^son requesting evac and claiming the booster he was given before the mission wasn't working. $&*^son instructs him to go meet up with a man by the name of Yargo Mensik. However, the transmission between the two is cut short when a Lasrian soldier enters the building. Hayden hides and prepares to jump him. However, In his weakened state, he is easily overpowered by the soldier and nearly killed. Then his hand glows and releases an object which he uses to kill the soldier. Another soldier enters the building preparing to fire.

Hayden throws the object almost as if by instinct and decapitates the soldier causing the body to fall to the ground. the object returns to hayden's hand. Hayden looks at the object in surprise. This object was the glaive. Throughout his journey to Mensik's location, Hayden gains new abilities from his infection, all the while being unable to feel pain from the infection because of a rare neurological disorder he suffers from that makes him unable to feel pain. Unlike other infected, he does not go insane from the pain because of this.

Eventually, Hayden is forced to fight Nemesis again but is unable to match Nemesis' strength. Injecting himself with the booster he obtained from meeting up with mensik, he injects himself. However, he realizes this is a mistake and passes out. When he awakens, he finds Yargo Mensik at his side. Mensik then informs him that the thing he injected himself with was actually poison called enferon which is dangerous to those infected with technocyte. Mensik says that he pumped the poison out of Hayden's system saving him.

Yargo tells him of a suit that can match the power of Nemesis. Hayden makes his way from the medical room to the lower levels of the base where he obtains the suit. This was the original excalibur. Hayden is now immune to Enferon grenades and is able to lift objects he could not lift without the suit.

Eventually, he confronts Nemesis and defeats it, revealing it to be Nadia Sudek. Before Nadia dies, she apologizes to Hayden for infecting him and gives him a security card.

Eventually Hayden gets to the place Mezner is heading for, AD $&*^son arrives with a hasmat crew. $&*^son then tells Hayden to go home and stand down and says that he made a deal with Mezner. $&*^son hands hayden a booster and tells him to get on the helecopter. This is when Hayden realizes that $&*^son was feeding him lies all this time. He then stabs $&*^son in the neck with the booster, killing him. Then the Hasmat crew attacks Hayden. Hayden disposes of them and then heads to take on Mezner. Mezner joins with the "vault" and uses it to attack hayden. all the time harassing Hayden via telepathic link. Hayden wins and kills him.

Then he leaves, saying good bye to Yargo on his way out of the cave where he fought mezner.

Yargo then says on the closing, watching hayden leave "That was how it started. The irony of this disease. That in all the others, it made evil. But for him, it had saved his soul."

In other words, the tenno are indeed a noble race.

  17. Here's some other issue with 2.0:

-Status procs are crap for all weapons. (even Lanka with hammer shot and rifle aptitude isn't that great. 38.8% is still pretty meh IMO.) The meaning of this was to remove rainbow builds.

Okay, I get that but not when it means not doing the extra damage you want often enough. Look at ignis. It's a powerful weapon but it's also one of the most boring weapons now thanks to the damage change because it doesn't ignite things on fire anymore like it should. Even MOA and robots should catch fire because of their robotic innards. Grineer would be cooked by their own armor.  DE, you said "frozen while on fire" was unrealistic. Well so is a flamethrower that can't set enemies on fire 90% of the time.

    - Slash Damage and puncture damage bleeding is broken. Low level players and players who recently polarized their warframes literally get destroyed by these two damage types since their health isn't up to par and these two damage types go right through shields. Worst of all, most enemies do this damage via hitscan which makes it difficult to dodge. Not to mention only a few warframes can counter this damage (Trinty with Blessing, Rhino with iron skin, and Ember with overheat are three such frames.) Taking cover doesn't work either because if the enemy can't shoot you, they come after you until you're in view for them to shoot yet Grineer take cover when you get out in the open to shoot them.

-armor scaling was not fixed as someone mentioned. I've had level 50 enemies and they take A LOT of bullets, even from damage types they're weak against. What's the point of completely changing the damage system if you're not going to address the original problem you started working on it for in the first place?

  18. Good, how about you guys work on fixing weapon proc rates for the next week to make them suck less. Also, ignis is a flamethrower and should ignite enemies on fire regardless of proc chance. A Flamethrower that does not inflict fire damage most of the time is as unrealistic as "on fire while frozen" balancing or not. Just about every enemy in this game can catch fire, even the robots can when enough heat is applied.

  19. I think they talked about nerfing it on the dev livestream two weeks ago. Bad move DE. BAD. Heavy impact was a useful mod for excalibur and you guys breaking it has ruined it for excalibur players everywhere.

  20. I logged in and out of the game for only two fixes? I'm a little annoyed but I guess those who had said issues will appreciate it. But please fix Ignis' Proc chance. Ignis is worthless in its current condition. it's supposed to be a flamethrower yet it only afflict procs like 1% of the time.

  21. I've used both and I honestly have to say I like both. Torid works best if you equip cryo rounds. (you don't even have to equip it at max) The Ice damage will slow down enemies and will inflict x2 damage to their shields if they have any. Torid is more for utility as people have said while Ogris is pretty much raw destructive force. However both are good at controlling crowds if done right. Since torid's toxic cloud lingers, you can use it on places like the pod on defense or in door ways.

Ogris is very dangerous to use in close combat unless you're running a trinity with maximized power duration or a Rhino with maxed iron skin. Of course, using Ogris at point blank is stupid, even if it DOES more damage. The weapon is intended to be a medium to long range weapon and not as a shotgun. Think of it as an explosive sniper.

Ogris is the weapon the Grineer Bombards use where as Torid is an infested version of the Napalmer's launcher. Rather than leaving a mass of fire on the ground, torid leaves a cloud of poison instead.

Torid used to injure you a long time ago but that has since been changed making it better suited for close range crowd control than ogris. Both weapons are both ammo efficient too so you can spam shots without having to worry about running out as often as other weapons.

Which one you use depends upon how you want to control crowds.
